Jay Gee's Nook Challenge #2

Hey there!

Can you believe that November has come and gone? I feel like 2010 was such a blur for me with a husband deployed for more than half of it. The second half I lost someone very special to me, focusing on selling a house, and trying to gear up to leave a place we have lived for 9 years. I feel like I have just bounced around and got through some how.

I played along in Jay Gee's Nook first challenge, and while I still have my crafty items available, I wanted to play along in her 2nd challenge. I love the inspiration photographs that she finds. It makes me want to run right to my crafting area and play along.

I started with Kraft cardstock from Stampin' UP! and added designer paper from The Angel Company (TAC) and distressed the edges with Vintage Tea Stain ink. I added a strip of red card stock I had in my stash and I stamped various images in VersaMark Ink from my Stampin' UP! Winter Post set and also adding the snowflake from Wilson Designs Snowy Wishes. It's the perfect little snowflake to add in between images. (**Wilson Designs has a new release next week so stay tuned!!**) I tied a red gingham ribbon knot around my red card stock to tie in with the inspiration photograph below.
I circle punched my designer paper and stamped in Soft Suede the post mark stamp and adhered it to my doily. I then stamped my Do Not Open til Dec 25 sentiment and added that to my card. Lastly, I embellished with two snowflakes adding gold dew drops to the centers.
I just couldn't resist the homespun feel of this photograph! There is something comforting about it don't you think?

I am also playing along with Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC95) - Have a doily look.

That's it for me today! Thanks for visiting!

Jingle all the way!

Hello there!

It's Cyber Monday, and I guess if I am going to get any shopping done this year it's going to be online with our upcoming move.  How about you are you shopping the deals today?

My card today uses the colors from The Play Date Cafe Brown, Grey, and Silver. I have made many cards, but I can honestly say I have never put together this combination before today. That is just what a challenge does make you work outside your norm! Thanks PDCC! I chose to make a Christmas card even though it's non-traditional colors! I rather like how my little reindeer card turned out considering I wouldn't normally grab these colors together.  Yes, extra postage will be required for this card! :-)
The bell around the reindeer is silver in real life, but the reflection from the brown seems to be picking up in the photograph! I made my own silver snowflakes by dipping them in my Brilliance Silver Ink.

I am also playing along with Totally Papercraft - Untradtional Colors, Our Daily Bread - Snowflakes.
I hope you have a great Monday!

Thinking Snowflakes...

Well, I may not be seeing snowflakes here in Hawaii, but I was inspired to create this card by this weeks Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger.
Here is what inspired this card.
Doesn't this look so yummy?
Here is a close up!
For my focal point I used my Winter Woodland's Cricut Cartridge and added Frosted Lace Stickles and I set to dry. I stamped the different snowflake images from Stampin' Up Snow Swirled and Wilson Designs Snowy Wishes in Aqua Mist and Chocolate Chip. I tied it off with an aqua mist bow across the top and add a ribbon embellishment. On the back of my Whisper White panel I added some pop dots for dimension.

I am also playing along with: Fab 'n' Funky - Going with the Flow,  The Craft Pad - Snowflakes, Our Daily Bread - Snowflakes, Die Cuts Dreams Christmas - Use a Die Cut, Totally Papercrafts Challenge- Untradtional Christmas, Paper Cutz - Anything Goes, Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - Get Those Christmas Cards Done.

That is it for now! I hope you have a great day!

DeNami Sketch Challenge #5

Hi!

I decided to join in the fun over at the DeNami Design Blog for their latest sketch challenge.  I am really trying to get in every bit of craft time I can before I go on a very long hiatus due to a cross country move in a couple of weeks.  We will be living in temporary status for a couple of months without access to our household goods, so unfortunately, I won't be able to craft. :-(  We were already suppose to have our household goods packed up, but a change in my husbands orders delayed things, so I am really taking advantage of this time!

DeNami Challenges are one of my favorite to play along with, so I will miss them like an old friend! :-)  I know I know enough already!!!

The very talented Ayana created a fun sketch, and here is what I can up with. As you can see, I decided to flip it.

On my card, I used my Winter Woodland's Cricut Cartridge to create the scalloped Hexagon and snowflake then I added a button to the center for a finishing touch.  From DeNami Designs, I used a stamp from the Elegant Floral Stamp Set. I used a snowflake border from EK Success! My ribbon is from Offray!

I hope everyone is not too tired from Holiday shopping yesterday! I was not crazy enough to get out in it all!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great one!

Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge #35 Give Thanks

Hello there,
I am guessing many of my friends who celebrate Thanksgiving are plenty full from their Thanksgiving feast!

I have a lot to be thankful for this year. One thing that comes to mind is having my husband home on American soil and not deployed. My thoughts go out to the families who are separated during the holidays. I have been there and I know how difficult this time of year can be on families of deployed soldiers.
Here is my super simple card. I took brown cardstock and added a layer of Stampin' UP! pattern paper I had in my stash and rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. I took some baker's twine and criss-crossed it across my card. I added tea stain to the edges of my Take Note Die image and finished it off with two dark chocolate buttons. The stamps I used are by The Angel Company.

Here is the inspiration photos this week!
Cranberry, Brown, Orange
I hope you will head over to OTWC Blog to get the details for this weeks challenge and prize that is up for grabs by this weeks sponsor: Best Creations. We look forward to seeing your wonderful creations! Be sure to head over to the other design team blogs for some inspiration!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all and if you don't celebrate
this holiday, I wish you well wishes all the same
because we all have a lot to be thankful for!

Small Stitched Circle is from
DeNami Designs, the Sentiment
is from MPS, and the small snowflake
My cardstock is all Stampin' Up and the
Designer Paper at the bottom is

I used the tone on tone

with the snowflake.

Noel~

Hello!
I just have a quick post today! I was trying to knock out
a few things on my to-do list and I wanted to
get a few more Christmas cards done.
Well, I only got one because it seems
I got pulled to do other things. Oh well.
My local wholesale club had these
cute buttons on sale, so I snatched
those right up because I love to
embellish my cards
and projects with buttons!
I have had this adorable
Sizzix tree die waiting for
me to actually use for a couple
of years now, so I thought the two
would be a perfect match!
I was going for simple and easy to reproduce!!!
I distressed the edges of my pattern paper with
Tim Holtz  Tea Dye. I added  a little Stampin'
UP! Craft White ink to my tree before I
adorned with buttons.
The sentiment is from MPS stamps.
I thought I would play along with
Pixie Dust Paperie where their
challenge is to use trees. I am
also playing along with
Stamp and Create - Tis the Season
Just Do It - get those Christmas Cards Done
Diecuts Dreams Christmas - Anything Goes
Freshly Brewed Challenges - Winter/Christmas Theme
Well, I hope to get more cards made! (fingers crossed)

Magical Moments

Hello dear readers!
The Color Cue 10 Challenge at Wplus9 has a
different spin on their usual challenge this round
because there are several different color
pallets you get to chose from. If I had more time, I would
have liked to have made a card for each of the different color pallets. :-)
For my card, I decided to use
Elise Durenberger's Color Pallet
I have been waiting to get my peacock from
Magical Moments inky, and I felt like this was the
perfect color pallet to do so.
I am also playing along with
Speedy The Cat's - Have a

Season's Greetings

Hello!

I saw the colors for the Embellish Magazine Challenge and I knew I had to make a card using those colors and play along. The second component to their challenge is to make it a Holiday Theme Card.

The colors are Pink, Red, Green, and Brown! Love it!

I used tone on tone stamping with Pink Pirouette to randomly create a background image with various snowflakes from several different stamp sets. I love mixing and matching sets. Two sets are from Stampin' UP! and one is from Wilson Designs - Snowy Wishes. I distressed my edges with Vintage Tea Stain ink. I then used my Cricut to cut my center image and stamped a musical background image from Timeless Textures from Skipping Stones Designs. I also distressed this to give it a old time Vintage feel!

Again using my Cricut to cut and shadow my Season's Greeting sentiment, I chose to use green and red so it would stand out, and I placed it onto the musical focal point.

I wanted some darling mittens to add to this Holiday card, so I cut those out and adhered them together and added a button! Adding some beautiful green ribbon for balance and some buttons as a finishing touch. This completes this little vintage holiday greeting!

I am also playing along with Pals Paper Arts - Clean & Simple, Diecuts Dreams Christmas - Anything Goes Christmas, Frosted Designs - Distressing, Our Daily Bread - Holiday, One Stitch at a Time - Chose your Theme or Holiday - Christmas, Alota Rubber Stamps - Let's Celebrate, Simon Stamp  & Show - Whatever Makes You Happy- Mittens and Christmas :-).
Hope you have a great day!

Give Thanks!

Hello there!

I hope you have had a wonderful Friday and are gearing up for whatever your weekend holds for you!

I am really squeezing in as much craft time as I can in between the craziness of an upcoming BIG MOVE and a little one that has not been feeling well!

I am playing along in a few challenges and one of them is for the Shabby Tea Room and the theme is  What are we Thankful for and they asked us to talk about it in our post.

I am thankful for so many things, but a few that come to mind are: my family, my son, and my husband who provides a safe home us with a job that allows me to stay home for our son.
I started with a Kraft A2 card base. I then dry embossed my Stampin' UP! Whisper White panel and distressed inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Inks Wild Honey, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo. I stamped the Small Pumpkin from DeNami Designs in Momento Cocoa and colored in with Copic markers. Using a greeting from the The Angel Company, I stamped my sentiment across my pumpkin to tie our "thankful" theme together.

I am also playing along with some wonderful great challenges at Frosted Designs - Distressing, Crafty Cardmakers - Spotlight Dry Embossing, Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful - Ribbon.

Alrighty, that does it for me tonight! What are you thankful for? I would love to hear from you as we reflect this week!

Hi everyone! Its time for my OTW Craftiness post for the week. I hope you will join in the fun! The challenge this week is sponsored by Paper Wishes!
Here is my card....
I apologize but I am limited on time with an upcoming move, so I am not able to spend a lot of time on editing and playing around with detail shots, but the front of the car says "Baby on Board". I wanted to use the lighter blue so it would stand out from the rest of the car, and in real life it does I promise. This card will go to a dear friend of mine.

Here is the beautiful Inspiration photo and colors this week!
Be sure to head on over and join us this week at OTWC, you can find all the details on the blog and head over to the other Design Team members for some great inspiration and be sure to show them some love!

I am also playing along with Simon Says Stamp & Show - Whatever Makes You Happy. Because well...baby news makes me HAPPY!
