The Kraft Journal 143 - Lace It Up!

{If you're looking for The Ribbon Reel Gold and Silver New Year Card click here}

How are you on this first Monday of the New Year?

For today's "Lace It Up" challenge at The Kraft Journal, I started with a card base of Medium Kraft Cover weight cardstock onto which I added various patterned papers using scraps from my stash.

I added a row of buttons at the bottom which I  threaded with Natural Hemp Cord.  Natural Burlap Ribbon was wrapped around the card front and tied into a bow embellished with a red button and Metallic Hemp Twine.
I added three different lace trims from my collection and finished the card with a stamped framed sentiment using stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps.
I hope you will play along with our Lace It Up challenge this week at The Kraft Journal.  All those that participate in our challenges for the month will have a chance to win a $15.00 gift certificate from The Kraft Outlet....and you also get a chance to be considered for The Feature Me Friday artist post on The Kraft Journal blog!

I am joining in at Just B Creative - January Linky Party, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Brown Sugar Challenge - Ribbon or Twine

I created this card for my Mom to give to a friend. I hope she likes it.

I hope you have a blessed week!

Be Mine Valentine

Good Morning Friends!

I hope you are doing well this Thursday~

I have a sweet little Valentine for you this morning! I had to put together a card quickly, so a little short on time I am going to make this short and sweet!
I began with cream cardstock onto which I layered a piece of kraft cardstock using the letterpress technique to the card base.   The beautiful stamps I used are from Waltzingmouse Stamps called Seasons of Love.  A fussy seam binding bow and button were added to the top.
I used the sketch from The Paper Players this week.

I am going to play along at Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes.  Shop our Stash - Valentine/ Hearts (I have had that Designer Paper FOREVER). Crafting for all Seasons - Buttons and Bows, Cut It Up - Love is In the Air, The Pink Elephant - Hearts, Southern Girls Challenge - Get Krafty

I hope you have a Terrific Thursday! The Short Stack gets out of school early today! I must get to moving and make use of my time today!

The Kraft Journal #103 Crimp or Fold

Hello Sweet Friends!

Today starts a new challenge at The Kraft Journal "Crimp or Fold,  So I crimped! :-) I began with a base of Brown Cover Weight Cardstock which I layered and pieced together patterned papers from the Kraft and Black Cardstock pad.   I added a paper doily to the center of the card to give it a softer touch then layered a die-cut stamped framed sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps to the center.

Next I added a length of crochet trim across the lower third of my card.  I then die-cut three flowers from Brown Cover Weight Cardstock then ran them through my hand-held crimper to give the effect of corrugated cardboard. I wanted a shabby look, so I took some white paint to the flowers.

I felt I need to add a touch of color, so a purple paper flower by Prima was added to the top layers of corrugated flowers embellishing the center with a pewter stick pin.  Lastly, a row of white paper hearts was added to top of the card for a finishing touch.

Pop by and see what the other designers did this week for the Crimp or Fold challenge.  All of our followers who participate in our challenges for the month of January have a chance to be featured in the "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a voucher for The Kraft Outlet.

I'll have another post for you in a little bit! Be sure to check back!

WMSC - Be Merry and Bright

Hello There!

**So Honored that this card was selected as one of the Top Mouse awards at WMSC on 9/29/12**

Thank you for stopping by! Ever since blogger did the force change, my email feeds have not gone out, and I have yet to figure out how to fix it. So I appreciate your visit. *Edit to note since I wrote the post...it looks like it may be fixed fingers crossed*

I have a Christmas card to share today. I had intended to have many more holiday cards completed by this time, but no such luck.

I started with a light blue card base adding some patterned paper displaying a print of modern snowflakes. A strip of polka-dotted paper was layered on top adding a length of white crochet trim and a row of buttons laced with hemp twine.

A sentiment from Waltzingmouse Seasons of Love was added to the center of the white embossed frame from Very Vintage Labels 10.  A shabby bow was added to the top embellished with a button, twine and some sugar-coated jingle bells.

It's been awhile since I have been able to join in at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, (16 weeks to be exact)so I thought today was the day!  Here is the sketch which provided me inspiration.

Happy 100th Waltzingmouth Sketch Challenge

Hi there!

It's been a busy week on the ol' blog, but I couldn't let the week go by without joining in the fun to celebrate Waltzingmouse 100th Sketch Challenge! Yay! Although, I have just recently joined in the fun there, I have admired their sketchs for a long time.  I am proud to be a recipient of their Top Mouse honors, and I cherish it!

So here is a card, I created with their current 100th sketch to celebrate.
I totally shopped my stash on this one and used papers and flowers I had been hoarding!

The border is from Waltzingmouse Victorian Frippery...so so pretty.  I stamped it in Razzelberry ink.  I stained the edges with tea stain and applied to the lower portion of my patterned paper. Above the stamped border a row of die cut hearts was added.
I used a frame from Waltzingmouse Vintage Labels 18 and used a sentiment from Victorian Frippery. I dressed up the focal point with some sweet pearls.  I layered this onto some pretty green patterned paper.

A length of white seam binding was added to the left portion of the card front and tied in a fussy bow embellishing with a beautiful paper flower and leaf.

Here is the sketch! Head over to here if you want to join in the fun too!

Be Merry and Bright

Hi!

(For my Wilson Designs Release American Classic's Card click here)

Hope you are enjoying the start to your weekend.

I have not been feeling well lately, so I apologize for not making the rounds. I had a pretty good day Thursday, so I mustered up some energy to get crafty.  I am just now getting around to posting.

I have another Christmas card to share. I am determined to knock as many of these out as I can.  Now if only someone would start a Halloween and Thanksgiving challenge. :-)

I love to make Christmas cards that are non-traditional  colors, but I went classic today.
I used a Waltzingmouse sentiment from Seasons of Love and some pretty roses from my stash. I added some rhinestones near the sentiment because when I think of Merry and BRIGHT, I think of pretty shinny things like bling! What girl doesn't! :-)))  At the top of my focal point, a few pearls were added for a tad more glam.

I used another lovely sketch by Lesley for the current Merry Monday challenge. I never have lack of mojo working with her sketches which is fabulous when you are not feeling 100%.
I am also joining in the Rudolph Day Challenge that Sandra host.
Thanks for popping in!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Christmas Card

Hey everyone!

**WooHoo This card was chosen as a Top Mouse for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge**

For those of you who celebrated Mother's Day yesterday I hope it was a special one whether you are a mother or honoring your mother. None of us would be here without those special ladies! :-)

I have a card I put together very quickly because, well like most, it's the top of the week and the to do list is very long!  The Waltzingmouse Sketch this week made it easy to assemble this quick card, and I need to start building up my Christmas stash, so I am not frantic come Holiday time. I still don't make enough to send handmade Christmas cards to our entire list, but I try my best to send out special ones to very close friends and family!

Here is my take on the sketch!
I used Vintage Ornaments for both the focal image as well as the sentiment. My papers are from DCWV Christmas Stack.

I, of course, like to embellish/dress things up a bit so I added a gold glittered star with a pearl to the ornament. Some gold jingle bells were tied around my fussy seam binding embellished bow.  Last but not least you will find three golden pearls under the sentiment! :-)

Here is the sketch for the week!

I hope your week is a goody!
Hugs,
~Tammy~

HUGS and prayers

Hello to you!

**Excited to share that this entry had two wins it was a Super Nova Winner at Papercraft Star and Top Mouse at Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge Thank you!**

We are still wet as ever! I guess that is good for our spring gardens, but I run on solar power, so I am missing Mr. Sunshine, and so does my camera! Ahhh.....

I started by piecing together my patterned papers and adhered it to my card base. A length of aqua ric rac ribbon was applied where the two patterns meet. At the top of the card face, I applied some beautiful off-white crochet trim.

A Spellbinders Labels 1 die was cut and and created into a tag using stamps from Waltzingmouse Vintage Labels 1 and sentiment from Say it Loud. I embellished the top of the tag with some pearls I had on my desk from another recent make adding a punched butterfly to the lower left of the tag adding a pearl to the center.  For a finishing touch, two crochet mats were applied near the lower right of the tag embellishing with some vintage buttons I recently won at Zeus and Zoe.

I found my inspiration at these wonderful places:

Berry71Bleu - Inspiration Photo I was inspired by more of the peachy/coral tones in the upper right photo.

Yuletide Blessings

Hi!

I have a quick Christmas card I put together for the Young Crafters Unite Challenge:  Use Dies on a project.

I thought this was a fun little challenge to jump on board with.  Considering I was without my die cutting machine and dies for a good bit this year, I am trying to catch up on loss time (just like an old friend. *wink*).

Since I don't have a lot of extra time during this busy time of year, I kept it simple using some fun Spellbinders dies. I just love these Heirloom Ornaments.  Today I used a coordinating stamp set by WalzingMouse Stamps called Vintage Ornaments and a sentiment from Compliments of the Season also by WalzingMouse.

I know everyone is busy, so I will keep this short and sweet!

I hope you are enjoying all the Holiday Season brings!
Blessings,
~Tammy~
