The Kraft Journal Color Challenge

Hi there!

How was your weekend?

We have a new color challenge at The Kraft Journal this week. It's three colors and the colors inspired me to create an Easter Card.

I started with a base of Brown Kraft Cardstock onto which I added patterned paper inspired by the spring color board you will find below. I then wrapped a length of Hand Stained Bias Tape around the card front and tied off in a fluffy bow adding a lavender button laced with Lavender Pastel Hemp Cord.

A row of pastel buttons were added to the bottom which I also laced with Lavender Pastel Hemp Cord before adhering them.   Using some Easter die-cuts and a stamp set from My Creative Time Hello Chickie I created a little scene for the focal image. Lastly, I added some sequins for a little further embellishing.
Other Products Used

Easter Marshmallow Bark {Trendy Twine}

Hello Friends!

I hope you are enjoying yourselves this last Saturday in March. I have a full day schedule. I feel like I live in my car more than I live in my house.

I have a project today I am sharing on the Trendy Twine Blog using some fabulous Watermelon Taffy Twine and Small Candy Treat Sacks! I love these treat sacks because they have flat bottoms. Click here to see a project I made with them for Christmas gifts. They are perfect for a small candle.

I made some Easter Marshmallow Bark and packaged it inside the Small Candy Treat Sacks. I used my cameo to cut a 3D Treat Bag Holder to attach the packaged Easter Marshmallow Bark to. Since I had the cutting machine going, I cut an Eater Egg with the same coordinating paper as the liner. I topped off with a few sequins and of course Watermelon Taffy Twine .

Sorry for the glare from my craft room lights. I promise you this bark is delish! So fun to make too!

Easter Treats with The Kraft Journal

Hello~

It's Monday and that means I am kicking off a new challenge at The Kraft Journal for the week. Hope you will join in the fun! :-)))) This week we want to see your CAS - Easter/Passover creations.

I created a tag to to go on some treats which I included to go in a care package. For the tag, I started with a base of Brown Kraft cardstock onto which I added some pretty spring patterned paper. I stamped a Happy Easter sentiment on a banner and added it just below the cute little rabbit which was cut using my cameo.  Butter Hand Stained Bias Tape was used to tie the tags to the treats.

For the treats, I created the treat holder from Brown Kraft cardstock. Next I wrapped Hershey Nuggets with patterned paper and placed them in the tray that was created. Using a pretzel holder treat bag, I added the prepared tray and tied off with the Butter Hand Stained Bias Tape.  I added a double bow and button laced with Light Blue Pastel Hemp Cord.

We hope to see your CAS - Easter/Passover creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be showcased in the "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher to The Kraft Outlet store.

Thank you for taking a peek.

Anything Goes - Spring {The Kraft Journal}

Good Day! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

For the challenge this week - Anything Goes Spring, I decided to make an Easter Card, and I built the card around an image that can be found in the Tim Holtz Seasonal Salvage Stickers which you can pick up at The Kraft Outlet. I added the image to a pastel blue die-cut I have had in my stash onto which I layered on a Grungy Prim Shipping Tag.  I stamped two sweet little easter eggs from DeNami Design onto the tag, adding a length of crochet trim at the bottom.

I then created a bow from Blush Hand Stained Bias Tape adding a bow and button laced with Pastel Blue Hemp Cord.  Next I took the prepped tag and placed it on the card front that consisted of pieced patterned papers and a card base of Brown Kraft Cardstock. Lastly I stamped the Happy Easter Greeting from DeNami Design in black ink onto the card face.

Make sure to head over to The Kraft Journal to see what the rest of the design team has created. We hope to see your Anything Goes - Spring creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

TKJ Pick Three - Happy Easter

Hey there!

It's Monday, so that means a new challenge at The Kraft Journal. This week we have a Take Your Pick challenge. I used (1) Button, (4) Die-Cuts, Yellow, and White.

I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock onto which I added the Yellow patterned-paper which was cut using a stitched rectangle die-cut frame.  In the center, I punched a border from white cardstock. Next I took a length of Blush Hand Stained Bias Tape and wrapped it around the card front and finished it off with a fluffy bow.
I die-cut a Teeny Greeting tag for the Happy Easter sentiment (My Creative Time) and anchored it with a button laced with Light Blue Hemp Cord.  I die-cut a lacy oval from pink cardstock as a backdrop for the Easter Chick (Stampin' Up!) which I added to the card front. Lastly, I added a few pastel rhinestone gems for a decorative touch.

Here is the Take Your Pick for this week.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Take Your Pick creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

My Heart is a flutter

Happy Sunday,

{Thank you for the Connoisseurs Honors at Colour Me on 3/10/15}

I don't usually post on Sunday, but with our weather and snow days I didn't get a chance to get this completed and posted...so here it is before the inspiration challenges close out.

I began by die-cutting a butterfly I created using washi tape.  I had two felt flowers on my desk from a previous make that I added to the center topping it off with a button laced with twine.   I added two more strips of coordinating washi tape onto the patterned paper before adding the doily and the washi tape butterfly.   I stamped a sentiment from Paper Smooches Giddy Bugs in the lower right corner.
I used inspiration from:

Dump Truck Birthday Card

Hey There!

I have a card for a cute little Master soon to turn 4! He loves all things that move as most boys do at that age! He is definitely all BOY! Gosh I miss that age so much!

Every last thing on here is a left over! My 4 is from a bag of embellishments (I think Martha Stewart) I have had forever.  The ribbon is actually salvaged from one of my son's birthday gifts, and I think it come from Gymboree. Recycling at it's best people! :-)

I cut the dump truck using the Boys will be Boys Cricut Cartridge. Cutting it a few times to give it diminsion (like chipboard). I added the ric-rack border to it.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.
Inspiration was found at:
Seize the Birthday: Masculine, 3 Girl Jam: Anything Goes with Ribbon, DL Art - For a Boy or Man,   Paper Smooches:  Anything Goes.

We had a snow day Monday, (not sure if it's the 9th or the 210th I've lost count) so the short stack made use of the day and knocked out one of his school projects. Good thing his Mom has scraps and a die-cutting machine to make it easier. :-)

Thank you for popping by! Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Happy St. Patrick's Day (full reveal)

Hey there,

About a week ago, I shared a sneak peek of my card for Trendy Twine. In case you missed it, here it is in it's entirety.

The Limeade Trendy Twine is perfect for your Spring Projects!
One of my favorite things to do is use beautiful colored twine as a backdrop behind a negative. I think it  looks so pretty on a card and definitely gives lots of visual interest.
The stamps and dies I used are from Jaded Blossom. The Circular layered die is from PTI.
I hope you enjoyed this card today!
Here is the Limeade Trendy Twine that can be found at Annie's Paper Boutique here.

St. Patrick Day Greetings

Monday Greetings to you!

It's time for a new challenge at The Kraft Journal!  This week we want to see your St. Patrick Creations!

For my card, I started with a base of Brown Kraft cardstock onto which I added a layer of Vintage Dictionary Pages and a strip of patterned paper from my stash. I die-cut a scallop border from a shimmery green textured cardstock and added that where the paper met. I then wrapped a length of Spring Green Hemp Cord from the Bright Hemp Cord collection around the card several times for added texture.
I printed a vintage image onto Buff Ivory cardstock and cut it out and placed it onto a kraft pocket.  Using a die from My Creative Time, a paper rosette was created from the same shimmery green textured cardstock as the scallop border and I die-cut a scallop circle also from My Creative Time from Buff Ivory cardstock adding to the center. Next I created a Happy St. Patrick's sentiment banner from Brown Kraft cardstock adding another layer to the rosette. The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom Lucky Treats set. I created a fluffy bow from Aqua Mist Seam Binding adding an embellishment to the center. Lastly, I then layered the embellished bow onto two silk leaves. The leaves were white silk leaves that you can find in the bridal section of most craft stores and I spritzed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.

So that is it! I hope you have enjoyed my vintage St. Patrick's Day card.  We hope to see your St. Patrick's creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be showcased in the "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher to The Kraft Outlet store.

Sending Springtime Wishes {PSIC #29}

Hi Friends!

I am kicking off March with a Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge

I know I could use some spring! I had little to no luck with natural light trying to get a good photograph. Ready for some sunshine!!! It's another day of Snow and ice here! March is coming in like an Ice Lion!

I started this card with a card base of white cardstock onto which I layered some aqua patterned paper found in my scrap box of leftovers. I added the striped paper to the center adding a punched border below it. I stamped and paper pieced the flower and pot adhering to the center of the layered circles. A sentiment greeting was stamped in black ink on a banner which was mounted with foam tape. Finally, a length of white crochet trim was added to the top of the card.
