The Kraft Journal #191 - Buttons & Bows {Halloween Style}

Good Monday Morning!

I made a Halloween card for this weeks "Buttons and Bows" challenge at The Kraft Journal.  I began my card with a base made from Buff Ivory Cardstock.  I then took Halloween patterned paper (I've had in my stash forever) and joined them together and distressed the edges.

I trimmed the panel of patterned paper smaller than the base and added to the card front.  Next I took a length of Vintage Winter White Hand Stained Bias Tape and wrapped it around the card and created a fussy bow embellished with a orange button laced with Orange Baker's Twine

I stamped the Boo sentiment from My Creative Time Fright Night Stamp Set to a vintage Halloween label and added to the center of the card. I then printed out some vintage Halloween images using Buff Ivory Cardstock. After trimming out the image I wanted, I placed it at an angle in the center of the label.   Finally I added three buttons to the right corner laced with Orange Baker's Twine for a final finishing touch.

{Trendy Twine} Wishing you a Beautiful Day Card and Gift Box

Hello Friends,

{I am honored that this was selected as The Winner over at Scrapbook Blessings Club on 10/7/14 Thank you so much}

I am over on the Trendy Twine Blog today sharing a card and gift box featuring Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine. You can find it now on sale.
I started with a blush pink card base adding a mix of patterned paper joined by an embossed layer of brown kraft cardstock. I added part of a doily peeking out from underneath ruffled dictionary pages.  Next I took some yummy Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine and wrapped it muliple times around the card front adding a seam binding bow embellished with a brown button laced with Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine.  Lastly, I added a die-cut and sentiment to finish the card.
I just love the cute little mini boxes!  I used the 2x2x2 Kraft Box and you can find these in packs of 10 at Annie's Paper Boutique.  I dressed up the box by wrapping more of the yummy Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine around the box and tie in a bow. The rest was dressing up the bow with some trimmings I had in my personal stash.
Hope you enjoyed my project! Don't forget to check out The Twine It Up! with Trendy Twine Facebook Page!

The Kraft Journal #190 - Spooky

Good Monday Morning!

This week at The Kraft Journal, we have a sketch for you to try! I hope you will join us. I would love to see my crafty friends art in our gallery this week.
I started with a card base of Blackboard Stock Paper  which I added a piece of patterned paper from a Graphic 45 Halloween stack.  I changed things up a bit from the provided sketch, and I replaced the circle with a layered die using patterned paper and Brown Kraft cardstock.  I took a length of Hand Stained Bias Tape in Lilac Lace and wrapped it around the card front and and created a fussy bow which was embellished with a orange button laced with Black Baker's Twine.  Lastly I added a wooden pumpkin embellishment and stitched die-cut stars made of Brown Kraft cardstock and Buff Ivory cardstock.

All die-cuts used on this card are from My Creative Time.

Here is the sketch for you to try!!
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your "sketch" creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Small Glassine Bags for entertaining.

I am over on The Kraft Journal Blog today sharing  a decorative idea that looks great in a basket or at your table place setting. Today, I am featuring a Halloween theme, but this could easily be changed out for any holiday or occasion. Since these will be used for a treat party, I have just included a fork, napkin, tucking in a sweet treat!
I started with the Small Glassine Bags, and I added a strip of Black Twill Tape down the center.  Next I created a double bow for each bag using Black Baker's Twine.  All that was left was to die-cut a stitched star for each adding a stamped focal image from My Creative Time All Around Holiday Stamp set.

Isn't this a cute way to add a special touch to your next event?

Grand Slam Birthday!

Good Monday Morning Friends!

{I am honored that this card was Featured at Little Red Wagon on 9/16/14, and Top 3 Honors at Scrapbook Blessings Club on 9/21/14}

I thought I would pop on and share with you a card I made for my son to take to a birthday party this past weekend. It was for one of his baseball teammates. A new friend who shares the same love, so he asked if I would make him a baseball card. What's a Mom to do....make the boy a card! :-)

So you get the pleasure of seeing another baseball card, and I can assure you there will be plenty of assorts in the future on this ol' blog. At least I can say I am stretching my dollar with my sporting supplies! :-)

Ok, on to the card! I used the sketch only over at Fusion. Since their color inspiration in the photo was shiny pink, I didn't think that would fly for this little baller! :-)
I started with An Almost Navy card base onto which I added my distressed hand stamped Kraft background panel. I dusted off an old Stampin' Up! set for the numbers. I used the stamping off technique to give the numbers an older faded look.
I cut a piece of cork into a banner and added to the card front. I die-cut and stamped the bat, glove, and ball all from Buff Ivory Cardstock adding them to the cork banner. I stamped a sentiment also on Buff Ivory Cardstock and cut into a banner placing it in the upper right corner of the card. Lastly, I used a piece of baseball ribbon to create a tab to tuck at the top left corner and further embellishing with a DeNami Design Sapphire Boutique Button laced with a piece of Natural Hemp Cord

Here is the challenge at Fusion.

I am also sharing at Little Red Wagon - Use Cork, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday, Scrapbook Blessings Club - Anything Goes.

Thank you for stopping by and have a MARVELOUS Monday!

Dad You Light Up My Life...

Hello Friends~

{So happy to note that this card was the Winner at My Creative Time Designer Challenge on 10/9/14...Thank you so much for the honors}

I know I have not been around much. I did pop into my craft room quickly to make a card using some products from My Creative Time using their latest Designer Challenge as my inspiration.

 I started with a green card base which I attached a piece of gray cardstock that has been stamped with stick candy ink using the Stripey Background Stamp Set.  At the top of the card, I took some Brown Hemp Cord and wrapped it around the card front and tied off in a knot. My main focal point was created using My Creative Time Lost At Sea stamp set and coordinating dies. The Trio Stitched Banner Dies was used for the sentiment.
As mentioned I am participating in the "Photo Inspiration" challenge! at My Creative Time
Challenge details:
Is to use this photo as your inspiration by using the photo OR the color combo OR BOTH! I chose to use the colors.

I am also sharing over at Little Scrap Pieces: Show it off Saturday, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Scrapbook Blessings Club - Anything Goes, Craftin' Desert Divas - Anything Goes, D.L. Art - September Linky Party - Anything Goes, V's Sweet Idea Blog - Circle and Dots. {Thanks Karen for letting me know}, Sister Act - Anything Goes

One of my main reason for not being around as much is the start of school, and taking this guy to his practices and games! We are off and running at a pretty high pace, but I don't think any of us would have it any other way. You can't get this time back!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Apple Gable Box

Hey friends,

Last week, I shared a sneak peek with you for a project I created on the Trendy Twine blog. I really hope you check it out, but if you missed it...I thought I would share it again and give you the full reveal.

Here is my project:
This Gable box was made from red cardstock from a file that was purchased from the Silhouette Online Store. I wrapped the box with the Cranberry Trendy Twine as well as outline the apple for a decorative touch. Lastly I added a multi-loop bow to the center to complete the project. All that was left was to fill the inside with a few herbal tea bags.

The Kraft Journal #188 - Anything Goes

Hello Friends!

For this week's challenge at The Kraft Journal, it's "Anything Goes". I decided to make a very simple Sympathy card. I never have any on hand, and I wanted to make one that would be easy for mailing.  I also need cards that are fitting for a male recipient, so I didn't want a lot of extra flair such as buttons and bows on this design.
I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. I embossed a panel of Buff Ivory and added a decorative strip of patterned paper from my left over scraps in the center. I took Dark Green Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the center several times before adhering the panel to the base. I die-cut a stitched circle from Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock using My Creative Time Bunch of Fun Circles and stamped the sentiment also from My Creative Time Floral Sentiments at the bottom.
Using Buff Ivory for the petals, the Stitched Daisy Flower from My Creative Time was die-cut and added to the center.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your "Anything Goes" creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Have a Fantastic week!

TKJ#187 - Ruffles - Back To School

Good Morning everyone!  This is my second post of the day, for my Paper Sweeties post, click here. :-)  I hope you also got a chance to see the other post from the weekend as well. Click here for the Halloween Facebook Treat post.

It's time for a new challenge at The Kraft Journal.  This week the challenge is ruffles.  Well, school is starting tomorrow in my area. I know many have been back to school for awhile. It really seems like the summer flew by. Our kiddos get out later here, and we had some time added on with all the snow days we encountered this year. It just doesn't seem possible that it's September.

Well, that brings me to my card, I decided to create a Back to school card!
What is more appropriate for this theme then to ruffle some Vintage Dictionary Pages?  I started my card with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock where I added some school bus patterned paper.

Next I took a piece of red cardstock and cut down to a square and embossed with an ABC embossing folder. Using a school bus file found at the Silhouette Store, I used my Silhouette to cut it out and I placed inside a white die-cut circle and stamped the Back to School sentiment from Paper Sweeties just below.  Taking a piece of Vintage Dictionary Page, I ruffled it along the bottom.  Then I wrapped Red Baker's Twine around the card front several times finishing off with a length of Black Twill Tape tied off in a bow embellished with a red button laced with Red Baker's Twine.
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your "Ruffles" creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am also sharing over at My Craft Spot: Back To School, Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes, Craftin' Desert Divas' - Anything Goes, Scrapbook Blessings Club - Anything Goes.

Have a great Monday!

PSIC September Challenge #23 - 'Pretty Pumpkins'

Happy September 1st!

{Honored that this was selected as the Winner at Scrapbook Blessings Club on 9/8/14)

It's been a busy weekend...especially here on my blog...be sure to check out the Trendy Twine Facebook Hop Post here, and the Trendy Twine Sneak here.

I guess this closes out the end of summer. I really am always sad to see it go and know cooler followed by colder weather will soon be on it's way.

A new inspiration challenge starts today at Paper Sweeties.   The theme is called pretty pumpkins using pinks and greens. I thought I would try something different this time, and make a pretty pink pumpkin for a packaging idea. I always like to work ahead on things, and since next month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and October is also known for pumpkins,  I thought it would be cute to package up a sweet gift to send to a survivor.
I had a little mason jar candle which I packaged up and tied a bow and added a die-cut tag from  Sweet Cuts - Beautiful Little Wishes. I stamped a sentiment from Life is a Special Occasion which fit perfectly inside this darling size tag.  The sentiment is absolutely appropriate for a cancer survivor!
I will just set my little gift inside my pumpkin and it will be good to go! Below you will find your color palette and inspiration! You have one month to link up your projects in the gallery. You could be the next winner and guest designer.
