SFYTT - Teacher Thanks - Kyle's Kamp Thanks/Stats/photos

Good morning!

I can't believe it's the end of the school year. I know many have been out for weeks,  but we have a little over  a week of school left here, so I have to get to cracking on my year end teacher thank you cards. I can't even begin to describe how awesome my son's teacher was this year. He was super attached to her. He is not going to want to say goodbye. He keeps asking why she can't loop up next year. He's ready for summer, but not ready to say goodbye. 

I have had Reverse Confetti Class Act and Confetti Cuts in my possession and it has yet to see ink, so I thought this would be a good time to break them out. I followed the June SFYTT for inspiration.

I started with a Brown Kraft card base onto which I added my abc patterned paper.  I have really got my money's worth out of this sheet. I bought it when we lived in Hawaii, and I have used it on my son's pre-school teacher while living there, his Kindergarten teacher, 1st grade teacher, and now 2nd. I still have some of it left over. I have no idea who makes it either. I picked it up at a brick and mortar store while living there. Anywho, back to the card. I followed the sketch pretty closely adding a few die-cut stars and a scallop border trim.

{Honored this card was a Die Cuttin Diva Showcase Pick on 4/15/14, Design Challenge Winner at My Creative Time on 4/17/14}

I have a card for my son to give his teacher! She has been a huge positive influence for him, so I don't mind doing extra treats and cards for him to show how much he appreciates her at the holidays. She is still on emergency leave, so he can give it to her when she returns after the break.

All dies and stamps used are from My Creative Time.

Hold on to your hats, but I didn't use any patterned paper at all on this card! I used all left over pieces of cardstock from previous makes! :-))) The top aqua panel is embossed and I took white paint over it and set it to dry. 

Isn't this little die set cute?  It's a stamp and coordinating die set. The Postage frame is separate. 

I die-cut and then stamped the speckled row of eggs at the bottom. A length of yellow seam binding was wrapped around the card front and tied in a fussy bow embellishing with a button and twine. 

A sentiment perfect for an egg-cellent teacher! 

Well, I am going to wrap this up! I have a jam packed day ahead. Starting with Physical Therapy. Seems this is still going to be a normal part of my week for awhile. Baseball practice tonight, Opening Ceremonies tomorrow followed by the first little league game of the season. We've already had one travel ball game, but we will have a break from travel due to the holiday weekend. It also looks like we are catching our local farm team game Saturday night. So I take that back...it's a jammed packed weekend.  :-)

Holiday Hugs

Hi There!

In an effort to knock out some Christmas cards towards my 2014 stash, I thought I would play along again at Merry Monday!  The theme this week is Ornaments. So I pulled out my Waltzingmouse Stamps again and got to work. 

I used lots of different Waltzingmouse Christmas sets to create the card. Mostly taking flourishes and snowflakes to create the backing paper behind the ornament. The sets I used:

Vintage Ornaments (Ornament)

Seasons of Love Tags (Snowflakes, flourish)

Candy Jar Christmas Filler (bow, sentiment)

Sewing Box Christmas (snowflakes)

I used a scrap of patterned paper I had at the bottom and scraps of ribbon at the top to make the banners. I never throw anything away even tiny ribbon pieces because they usually come in handy in the design process at some point! :-)))

Batty In Love

Hello~

I have a fun little Valentine for you. When I think of Bats, I don't think of Valentine's Day, but decided to take the pun that comes with the Paper Smooches Falling For You set and run with it in my usual lots of layers/trims style. 

I joined two pieces of Valentine patterned paper from my srcaps which have been joined by a heart border punch and red ric-rac then adhered to my card front. I thought it would be fun to have them hanging on red hemp twine from two paper rosettes. Hey, it's paper crafting...the sky is the limit! :-)))

A lovey dovey heart was added to the center. Next I add two banners at the top right. {A great way to use up more scraps laying on the desk.} Lastly, I stamped my sentiment in the lower right. Keeping it short as I have the short stack home with me today.

You're Swell...

Hi there!

It's that time of year when Father's Day and Birthday's sneak up on me...so having said that I had to get cranking and slowly cranking it is...I am finding it hard to sneak crafty time right now. 

Most of you know I tend to create more shabby layer upon layer cards..., but truly, I am an eclectic crafter...I craft by mood, and today I was in a fun and cute kind of mood. I did jump start my mojo with the current Paper Smooches Designer Draft Challenge, however my creativity got going with the scene, so I took some creative liberty with the sketch if you will! :-) The bones are still there!:-)

Here is what I have to share! 

The entirety of my card with created using items from my scrap pile. Sadly, I never make a dent in "said" scrap pile.  I started with a yellow card base (not even sure of the color name/brand as it was in the stash), and I added my striped patterned paper. (DCWV). I added some fun glitter ribbon to the top.  Next I created my scene on a piece of white cardstock.

I used Paper Smooches Surf and Turf...I had to use the Pelican because it reminds me of my home state of Florida. I miss home tons. Besides the obvious of missing my family, I am a coastal gal at heart! :-) I then added Mr. Crab holding the fun sentiment "You're Swell!

I die-cut the clouds and added a touch of white paint to them. Being a girl who loves buttons, I added a row at the bottom...all of which have been laced with twine.

It's Your Birthday - Do the Hula!

Good Morning!

Coming on real quick today! My son was invited to a Hula Birthday Party at a neighbors. So I pulled out my beloved retired stamps that saw much use when I lived in Hawaii. I also found some papers in my stash that was purchased at a LSS when we lived there as well. It was just scraps, so I put to good use today.  Times like these always proves why we hoard and not get rid of those things we rarely use! :-))))

 I didn't have a lot of spare time, so I pulled some inspiration from the Mojo Monday Sketch this week. So here is my fun little card which is making me miss those warm sunny days with the beautiful trade winds. 

I started with a bright and sunny yellow card base adding my layers of fun tropical prints. I created a tag and antiqued my edges and stamped my vintage Hula Girl in Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored her in with Prisma Pencils and Mineral Spirits. A length of pink ric-rac trim was added to the top for a decorative touch and some natural raffia ribbon was looped through and tied in a bow. 

The sentiment is from Dandelion Designs (a company based in Hawaii) and a Hono (Turtle) image was stamped in kraft ink. 

Hopefully our little Hula Birthday girl likes it! 

I hope you have wonderful things planned for the weekend. We will be taking the short stack to an Open House at a Baseball Academy for food, fun, and baseball drills. He love loves loves baseball right now, so he is pretty excited.

Let Us Give Thanks - The Kraft Journal Happy Harvest Challenge

Today starts a new challenge at The Kraft Journal and this week it's Happy Harvest.  I began with a card base of Lunch Bag Kraft and used lots of layering which consisted of doilies, patterned papers, twine, and decorative tape.  

The image was die-cut and stamped using Wplus9 Pretty Patches: Pumpkins and mounted with foam adhesive on a Pinking Square. The sentiment was cut into fishtail banners onto Buff Ivory Cardstock. Last I finished off by adding some buttons by tying off using some Natural Hemp Cord.

A Happy Birthday Rainbow Style and Final hours....

Good Morning everyone....

(Yay! Woohoo This card was The Winner over at The Ribbon Reel on 11/12/12...Thank You so much ladies)

I hope this find everyone doing well! To those who have been affected by the storm I hope you are safe from harms way and have not suffered much damage. We are counting our blessings in our house.

When I created this card, It was inspired by a knitted scarf I saw in a window of a shop when visiting a historic town I took my in-laws to while they were here for a visit. I was fascinated by the rows of colors knitted together. 

A colorful and happy Happy Birthday Card!

I have to admit, I love buttons on cards and what is more fun then a rainbow of them! 

Lots of various colorful buttons were used along a doily to add to this cheerful card. A beautiful pink bow was tied and added to the top of the tag and placed on top of a flower. (Just happened to be sitting on my desk, so I thought let's just use you why don't we):-)

I am heading over to Pixie's to add this as I used snippets to create! Always digging in my scrap box first! :-)

Thankful for you, but not for Sandy

Hi!

Well, we are bracing ourselves for Hurricane Sandy. Spent the weekend preparing in-between the normal activities. Hopefully the last bit of superglue on the house dried so we won't blow away later on today. J

I have a card I made for my son's health care case manager to show my appreciation. She has really worked hard for my son. She has been invaluable to me,  and I would not have been able to navigate the system without her. 

Well, I am going to keep this short. Lots to do! So here is the card...

I started with Lunch Bag Kraft from The Kraft Outlet. I found some patterned paper in my scrap box perfect for this fall card. The top was cut using pinking shears. 

The stamped images are from Papertrey Ink First Fruits. I think this may have been the first "clear" stamp set I had ever bought!

Some beautiful crochet trim was added to the right side of the card face which was then accompanied by a length of beautiful seam binding which has been wrapped around the card and tied off in a fussy bow embellished with a button and twine. 

They have already canceled all schools and there will be no public transportation.  It's going to be a long day!   Here's hoping that this storm is all bark and no bite!

IBSIC #32 Gold, Silver, and Blue

Hi there sweeties!

I am popping on to share this weeks Inspired By Stamping Inspirational Challenge! It's a pretty one! Gold, Silver, and Blue using the photo as your inspiration. 

Here is what I have for you today!

I started this card by piecing together a snowflake and plaid patterned paper which was joined with some Gold Glitter Tape.

A circular tag was die-cut from cream cardstock, and the newly released Festive Frames was stamped to create the focal image. Tinsel Glitter was added to the edges topping it off with a beautiful bow made from white seam binding ribbon.

You are Unique

Hi!

I have not been able to make my way to my craft room with family in town and being under the weather, but I managed to steal a bit of time this morning before I have to head out the door to a doctor's appointment.  So this will be quick and simple and to the point! :-)))))

I hand-cut a Polaroid frame and used all patterned paper from my snippet pile to create this fun little number. The darling little cuties are from Paper Smooches Zoo Crew and the sentiment is from Paper smooches Swanky Snowdudes.

I started with a Lunch Bag Kraft card base which served as my background that was embossed with a fun Zebra print by Sizzix.

Thinking of you - Ten Minute Craft Dash

{WooHoo - So Honored that this was the Winner of the 10 Minute Craft Dash - Thank you ladies}

Sneaking this on quickly!

I took a break from doing various DT projects to participate in the 10 Minute Craft Dash, but I used my husband's computer to pull up the page today because it was handy and I forget how different the monitors are. So, I hope it's a pass that the blue is a deeper turquoise. :-)

This project was started with a Lunch Bag Kraft Cardbase. Taking a panel of Whisper White I stamped the peacock from WPlus9 Magical Moments and paired a sentiment from Mehndi Medallions.  The red paper is from my snippet pile using the Upper Crest Border.  A Ric Rac border was made from Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock and added to the center of the red patterned paper. After last week, I didn't learn my lesson with twine and time. I wanted to add some twine, so a length of red baker's twine was added however it kept wanting to roll away and almost cost me my time!!! 

Total time for this slow stamper was 9 minutes and 36 seconds

Since I am the slooowwwest crafter ever...I have enjoyed this push to step out of my comfort zone and create differently and FASTER. I seriously start sweating at the 8 minute mark. (Thank you twine)

You Make My Life Brighter

Hi!

There is a new challenge at Creative Paper Trade that I am just getting in at the last minute.  My life has been full of busy, but I fell in love with these colors, so I am so happy that I am able to enter.  I received some happy mail today from Paper Smooches from the Sparks Challenge I won last week, so I waltzed ran to my crafty space to sit down and create finally with these beautifully delightful colors. 

Here is what I have to share tonight. I know the photographs are going to be dark since it was late afternoon when they were snapped. 

I had some fun papers in my scrap pile. I believe they may be all from the same company, but I can't be for certain. I worked with papers that I felt coordinated well together as well worked for the color challenge. I added a thin green trim of ric rac to the bottom.  A sentiment from Paper Smooches Giddy Bugs was added to the lower right in Tuxedo Black ink. I just love the fun font.  

A length of seam binding was wrapped around the upper portion of the card front and tied in a fussy bow and tied off using a button, twine and a tag stamped with a darling heart from the Giddy Bug set. The star of the show is the cute Giddy Bug herself! :-))) She has been colored in with pink copics and her cute friend the butterfly has been embellished with a yellow button and twine. 

As mentioned, I was inspired by The Creative Paper Trade. I was waiting at the Gates to play in the playground at Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge. I was anxiously waiting for the gates to open.
