DeNami August Pin-spired #2

Hi and welcome to the DeNami August Pin-spired showcase.

{I am also excited to share that this colorful creation was given the Super Nova Award at Paper Craft Star on 8/27/13 Thank You Ladies!}

Have you been enjoying the DeNami Pin-spired post this year?  I still really enjoy both creating and seeing how the other ladies were inspired by the Pin-spired photos.

Here is what I created....

Here is the inspiration photo...
I started by pulling the colors in the inspiration photo from my scrap pile and stamping the Medium Polka Dots in coordinating inks on each of the strips. I added a ric rac border between the colors. I then randomly stamped the Polka Dot Butterfly on the right side of the card front.
Finally, I added the You're the best sentiment in black ink among the butterflies.

Be sure to check out a few of my teammates who have created something fabulous with this "Pin-spired" photo.

Here is what I have to share for you today!

I created a double bow using these supplies from
The Ribbon Reel:

10 Minute Craft Dash #23 Happy Birthday!

Hey Hey!

I can't even begin to tell you when the last time I posted a card just to post a card. I seriously have not had a moment to spare and have just been working on design team work! Which is fine because I am still doing what I love, but every now and then it's great to steal some time just cuz! Well, I am TOTALLY getting this under the wire for the BIG BIRTHDAY BASH at the 10 MINUTE CRAFT DASH, so I couldn't let it go without making an attempt. This is for you Paulina! :-))))

Since I saw the theme, I pretty much knew what I wanted to do and the papers to use, but couldn't get the time to actually get it done. Granted it should only take 10, but it has to be 10 minutes uninterrupted which isn't happening in my house right now!

Well, last night was the night, but the second part of this crazy crafty life is blogging and editing pictures and that had to be done later. So here I am just getting this in under the wire.

With that said, here we go!

First here is what I gathered for supplies. I pretty much stuck to most of it. I did change out the twine, added glitter, needed scallop punch,,and washi tape.  See even during the creative process of planning it changes in a time crunch.
Here is what I ended up with! (Thank goodness, you don't see the glitter mess off to the side)

I had time to spare and I am not sure how. Oh, I had wanted to add something to the top of my cupcake (like a cherry that comes in this set or a button, but ugh I knew if I pushed it then I would blow it)
I started by working on the hardest thing first, and that was stamp and paper piece the cupcake image.I cut down a piece of white cardstock and added a scallop trim in coordinating polka-dotted patterned paper to the bottom. I added the washi tape, and then stamped my greeting.

My cupcake needed some zing, so I added some chunky glitter and added to the panel with foam mounting tape. Using more foam tape, I added the panel to the center of the card. Lastly, I took a length of Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a bow adding a button!
Time to complete 9:04.8 WHEW!
The stamps I used are by Hero Arts - Cupcakes

Paper Sweeties August Post Rewind

It's the last day of the Paper Sweeties August release. The stamps hit the store yesterday and today the design team is sharing one more day of inspiration showing you how previously released stamps work well with the newly released.
I started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight card base onto which I added my colorful summertime patterned paper.  A doily was placed to the left side of the card adding a die-cut oval in pink polka-dotted paper on top. Sopie is wearing a summertime outfit from the set Mahalo.
Sopie is wearing a birthday hat, holding a balloon, and a birthday package ready to celebrate.  A length of green satin ribbon was wrapped around the lower portion of the card front and tied into a fussy bow adding a button and twine bow. The sentiment is from You Make Me Smile.
Please be sure to stop by the Paper Sweeties Blog and the rest of this talented team to see one more Paper Sweeties creation!

I am also joining in at Sunday {fun}day, Linky Party, Link It Up Tuesday - Linky Party, Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because Linky Party.

Paper Sweeties August Release Day!

Well, have you been checking out the Paper Sweeties August Release?  The new release is now available in the shoppe! Today we continue on with more samples from the Design Team and tomorrow we will be back to wrap up the release with some old and new! :-)
Today I used a bright white card base to make the pretty colorful colors pop!  I added another white panel which host lots of different textures. Using one of the new Borders released today, I stamped the top of the panel in a pretty green ink and embellished with pink rhinestones.  In the center I added a little ribbon treatment and button embellishment.
For my focal image, I stamped the birthday cake on blue patterned paper layered on a white scalloped square onto which I placed a pink and white polk-a-dot fabric square.   Lastly, I added lace trim just above the colorful patterned paper for balance and a finishing touch.
I hope you will take a visit to the rest of the design team! They would love to hear your thoughts!

The Design Team will continue to feature more delightful creations over the next few days for what will be available tomorrow on the 15th

My focal image is this beautiful stamp that comes in the set to be released called: You Are which I have stamped in white ink on Lunch Bag Kraft and heat set and embossed with white embossing powder. I fussy cut and placed it so the doily was just peeking out the top. This is another set that allows you to create your own sentiments. Hello!

(I am honored that this was featured at Link Up Tuesday on 8/6/13 Thank You so Much)

I have a shabby little card for you today using the latest sketch from Paper Sweeties Sketch Inspirational Challenge

I started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight card base onto which I added my patterned papers from My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Bluebell collection. The finishing touch was adding the sentiment from Paper Sweeties Sending Springtime to the lower right corner of the card.

Now here is this month's sketch to get you started!
