The Kraft Journal Color Challenge

Hi there!

How was your weekend?  

We have a new color challenge at The Kraft Journal this week. It's three colors and the colors inspired me to create an Easter Card. 

I started with a base of Brown Kraft Cardstock onto which I added patterned paper inspired by the spring color board you will find below. I then wrapped a length of Hand Stained Bias Tape around the card front and tied off in a fluffy bow adding a lavender button laced with Lavender Pastel Hemp Cord.  

A row of pastel buttons were added to the bottom which I also laced with Lavender Pastel Hemp Cord before adhering them.   Using some Easter die-cuts and a stamp set from My Creative Time Hello Chickie I created a little scene for the focal image. Lastly, I added some sequins for a little further embellishing.

Anything Goes - Spring {The Kraft Journal}

Good Day! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! 

For the challenge this week - Anything Goes Spring, I decided to make an Easter Card, and I built the card around an image that can be found in the Tim Holtz Seasonal Salvage Stickers which you can pick up at The Kraft Outlet. I added the image to a pastel blue die-cut I have had in my stash onto which I layered on a Grungy Prim Shipping Tag.  I stamped two sweet little easter eggs from DeNami Design onto the tag, adding a length of crochet trim at the bottom. 

I then created a bow from Blush Hand Stained Bias Tape adding a bow and button laced with Pastel Blue Hemp Cord.  Next I took the prepped tag and placed it on the card front that consisted of pieced patterned papers and a card base of Brown Kraft Cardstock. Lastly I stamped the Happy Easter Greeting from DeNami Design in black ink onto the card face.

TKJ Pick Three - Happy Easter

Hey there!

It's Monday, so that means a new challenge at The Kraft Journal. This week we have a Take Your Pick challenge. I used (1) Button, (4) Die-Cuts, Yellow, and White. 

I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock onto which I added the Yellow patterned-paper which was cut using a stitched rectangle die-cut frame.  In the center, I punched a border from white cardstock. Next I took a length of Blush Hand Stained Bias Tape and wrapped it around the card front and finished it off with a fluffy bow. 

I die-cut a Teeny Greeting tag for the Happy Easter sentiment (My Creative Time) and anchored it with a button laced with Light Blue Hemp Cord.  I die-cut a lacy oval from pink cardstock as a backdrop for the Easter Chick (Stampin' Up!) which I added to the card front. Lastly, I added a few pastel rhinestone gems for a decorative touch.

DeNami Designs Product Spotlight Happy Easter

Hi There!  The DeNami Design team is featuring the Happy Easter sentiment stamp in our product spotlight today. You get a 10% savings for one week only!

I started with a pastel pink cardsock as my base which was matted with a piece of yellow cardstock which I embossed with the Easter Egg Embossing Folder. I used a Silhouette file to cut the Easter Egg doily. I stamped and embossed the Cross and Vines image in the center of the egg using aqua embossing powder. Lastly, I stamped the Happy Easter sentimenet in the center in black ink just below the Cross and Vines.  

It's a great stamp to have in your collection for years to come. A beautiful script to either use on the outside of your Easter greetings or the inside.

I created a card today and I did something I don't normally do which is use solid cardstock only...no patterned paper. 

I heat embossed the Cross and Vines and added the Leafy Vine to the bottom to compliment the cross image beautifully. How gorgeous is the Rejoice sentiment?

Finishing touches include adding some DeNami Boutique Buttons and sequins.

The Kraft Journal #164 - Color Challenge Hoppy Easter

Hi Friends!

Wow! Here we are at another start to a new week!

For this week's "Color Challenge" at The Kraft Journal, I saw the colors and thought spring which made me think of Easter. :-)))

I started by adding a distressed piece of green polka-dotted paper to a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. In one of my many scrap piles, I had a piece of patterned paper that had most of the colors in the inspiration photo you can find below.  I distressed the edges before adding it to my card front.  Next I added a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon to the front embellished with a button and a bow from Pink Baker's Twine. 

I created a tag using Buff Ivory Cardstock and stamped a sentiment from Paper Sweeties Jelly Bean Time in a ray pattern using multiple inks adding a die-cut easter egg adorned with pink hearts. I added Pink Baker's Twine to the top before anchoring it down with foam adhesive.  I felt this card needed a  little something else, so I took a length of Cameo Beige Bias Tape and created a fluffy bow embellished with a pink button and more Pink Baker's Twine.  Finishing touches include adding a small pennant made from Buff Ivory Cardstock and pink heart to the upper right corner.

Paper Sweeties March Release Rewind

Hey Friends,

Did you fill your shopping cart up with the new release and other fabulous goodies from Paper Sweeties Shop?  Remember there is a new rewards program! I started by cutting out the bunny outfit and adding fluff to the white part (ugh sure wish you could see it), and then coloring the centers of the ears and belly pink finishing off with pink glitter. I cut and colored Jake and gave him a basket to hold from the new Bunny Hugs and Kisses set.

The bunny cut from Kraft cardstock is from the previously released set Hippty Hoppity.  I added a row of carrots to create a border from the new release Wagon Add-on: bloom & grow.

Final touches include adding Sequins, buttons, and a sentiment from Bunny Hugs and Kisses.

PSIC #17 - Egg-stra Sweet Easter Wishes and Paper Sweeties News

It's the first of the month (already wow) and that means a new inspiration challenge over on the Paper Sweeties blog! Yay!  Are you ready for this month's challenge? Here is my take! We always look forward to seeing yours!

I started this card by adding my patterned papers to my yellow card base (which photographed much brighter than real life).  I took a doily and cut in half and added the two pieces to each side of the card front. I took a length of pink shabby seam binding and wrapped around the card front tying off in a fussy bow embellished with a button and twine.  

I used Abigail and her coordinating Sweet Cut which I dressed her in an outfit from Jelly Bean Time.  You will also find the eggs stamped to her right and her easter basket from that set as well. :-)

Totally shopped my stash with some Bunny Hugs and Kisses!

Hi there!

First, I want to say I will be taking a bit of a blogging break. I will have things scheduled and posted, but will be away from my computer and craftroom for awhile. I will be back among the living in a few weeks. 

I never got around to making as many Easter cards as I wanted this year.  The next challenge was getting to the post office just didn't happen. There was just too much going on, but while I was putting some things away I just had to see if I could squeeze time in to make one more card, and I challenged myself to make every last bit of it from my scrap pile including the card base and the embossed pennant. 

I started with a Lilac Card base onto which I added my layers of solid and patterned papers. Next I added three pennant die-cut banners. I had a left over embossed scrap I decided to die-cut a pennant from since the letterpress technique had already been used in Milled Lavender. (knew I could use that someday) 

The sentiment and paper pieced bunny is from the newly released Paper Sweeties lines: Jelly Bean Time and Hippity Hoppity.  He's quite possibly the cutest bunny ever! :-)

DeNami March Pin-spired ~ Spring Greetings!

Hello there!

It's my turn to do a creation for the 2nd DeNami  Pin-spired of the month!  This is our second month showcasing this new feature where the DeNami Design Team is divided into two groups and we are given a Pinterest inspired photo. The possibilities are endless because we can create based on colors, theme, layout, or objects shown in the photograph.

For today's photograph, I used the colors and the spring theme to inspire my creation. 

I started by creating a square scallop card base from buff ivory cardstock. I added some textured patterned paper that was in my stash that I cut to fit my base. A doily was die-cut from lavender cardstock. A smaller doily in pistachio was die-cut and provided the focal layer for my stamped Spring Greetings which was part of the new release in January.  The Easter Egg is from The Easter Stamp Set and I use it a lot!! :-) I layered the pistachio doily onto the center of lavender doily where finishing touches of buttons and paper flowers were added down the left side of the center greeting.

I am really enjoying this showcasing! Be sure to check out a few of my teammates who have created something fabulous with this "Pin-spired" photo.
