The Kraft Journal #144 - Witches and Goblins

For today's Witches and Goblins Challenge at The Kraft Journal,  I started by printing out a vintage image I had saved onto a piece of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock which was die-cut using a postage die and layered on a piece of Buff Ivory cardstock.

I took a piece from the Kraft and Black Cardstock Pad and pieced it to some Halloween paper from a Halloween Pad I had in my stash and added to the card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock.  I distressed the edges before adhering to the card base.

In the middle, I took a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon and added it to the center to join the pieces. At the top of the card, I added a row of die-cut stars using the Half-Sized Black Board Stock Paper

I created a fussy bow adding some Black and White Baker's TwineRound Metal Edge Grungy Tag with a stamped sentiment from DeNami Design and a button.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Witches and Goblins creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am also joining in at: The Ribbon Carousel - Fall/Halloween with ribbon, Sunday {Fun}day - Linky Party, Just B Creative - Just Because Linky, Two Creative Chicks - Spooktacular, 2 Sisters Challenge - Cute and Spooky, Craftin' Desert Divas - Anything Goes, Scrappy Mom Stamps - Creepy Halloween (or any Halloween), 3 Girl Jam - Anything Halloween with Ribbon.

With Deepest Sympathy

Hello all!

How was your weekend?  I hope it was an enjoyable one!

It's time for another challenge at The Ribbon Reel.  This one was chosen by Zuzana, and she has asked that you create a card or project using the colors blue, white, and a touch of gold using ribbons and lace on your project.

I have created a sympathy card to share with you today.
The Supplies used from The Ribbon Reel:
I started with a navy card base onto which I added my patterned papers. A length of crochet trim was added to the center. The sentiment was stamped in a navy ink onto the center of the circle die and placed to the left side of the card front. Three ribbon tags were cut into banners and placed below the sentiment and two paper roses were added.  A gold bow was created and a flower was placed in the center for an embellishing touch.
Here is the inspiration photo to get you started this week.

I hope you will check out the rest of the design team for further inspiration! I hope to see your creations in the gallery.  You could be the next winner of The Ribbon Reel shopping spree!

I am sharing at: I am also joining in at: Sunday {Fun}day - Linky Party, Just B Creative - Just Because Linky Party, and Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by this evening!

Well hello there friends!

We are featuring the Halloween Kitty today and for one week only you get 10% off.  You want to hop along to all the DeNami Design Teams Members and leave some comment love because One lucky reader will be chosen randomly to win this stamp.

So here is what I have to share with you!
I created a sweet little matching set. I created the bag using DeNami Design Downloadable Gift Bag Template and a card to coordinate.
For both the card and the Gift Bag, I randomly stamped the Halloween Kitty on Kraft cardstock. I added a few scallop trims from book print at the top of the bag and card and a die-cut border in pumpkin cardstock down the center.  Lastly I stamped the Medium Dot Circle Frame in Pumpkin ink inside a white die-cut circle adding the Halloween Kitty in black ink to the center. The completed circle was then layered onto a black die-cut doily.
For the card, the sentiment was stamped in pumpkin ink inside a banner.

A great set for, teachers, crossing guards, bus drivers, neighbors, co-workers.  Anyone would enjoy this cute Halloween greeting.

That's it for me, I am your last stop on the hop, but you can start at the beginning because you don't want to miss out on your chance to win this adorable Halloween Kitty.

The Kraft Journal 143 - Color Challenge

For today's Color Challenge, at The Kraft Journal, I am a sucker for the blue pumpkins you see this time of year, so I decided to use that as my starting point for today's challenge. I stamped a pumpkin image from Wplus9 onto Medium Weight Kraft cardstock with blue ink.

I placed the pumpkin image and sentiment inside an oval cut from Buff Ivory Cover Weight cardstock. I then covered the card base with a beautiful piece of fall patterned paper and C-Flute Corrugated Kraft Paper which I painted with a vintage white paint and added a touch of chunky glitter.
I then ruffled some Natural Twill Tape above the Corrugated Kraft PaperA double bow was created from brown and white checked gingham ribbon and embellished with a button and bow made from Orange and White Baker's Twine sneaking in a few paper fall leaves for further embellishing.
Lastly I added the oval focal image and anchored it down with buttons laced with Natural Hemp Twine

Here is this week's Color Challenge photo.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello and Happy Friday to you all!

{Delighted that this was chosen Winner at The Shabby Tea Room on 10/21/13}

I am behind in fall creating lately, so I took a prompt from The Shabby Tea Room to give me some inspiration. I am going to keep this brief as possible today! Lots on the to-do list, so if you have any questions you can email me or leave a comment at any time.

I have hoarded these crochet mats from my friend Jessi forever, so I decided that letting them stay in my drawer wasn't going to make anyone happy. However, I may leave the rest in there until I can come to terms using another. *sigh* Aren't they gorgeous. She makes these by hand. I added a piece of orange and cream patterned paper to the center to be a pretty backdrops for the pumpkins. One pumpkin was a die-cut and the other I created.
I used some pretty fall papers and added a length of lace trim at the top. A double bow created using pumpkin ribbon from my "antique" stash was added for a decorative touch along with some sunflowers and green leaves.  The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties - Occasions stamp set.

As mentioned, I am joining at: The Shabby Tea Room - Fall. We were asked to: INCLUDE A FALL THEME, PUMPKINS AND A STAMPED SENTIMENT!

DeNami October Pin-spired - Halloween Spools

Hello Sweet Friends,

It's another busy day on the blog, for Paper Sweeties Post Release fall card click here and for my sweet Paper Sweeties snowman card for the 10 minute craft dash click here.)

It's Group 2 of the DeNami Design Team to share a DeNami Pin-spired project with you! I love to make decorations for the home and for others as gifts. When I saw our Pin-spired assignment, I was immediately inspired and knew just what I wanted to do!

Here is what I have to share today based on the photo below:
I started with a couple of spools picked up at a big box craft store, and I used Rit dye to stain my spools. See it's not just for dyeing shirts! :-))) It makes a great color stain!

The fun part is decorating and for this decoration, I used the Small Jack O"Lantern and Black and White Baker's Twine, and DeNami Designs Halloween Buttons
I used the Friendly Mummy on this spool! Look below for the fabulous Inspiration Photo!
I hope you will visit my fellow design team partners in seeing how this photo inspired them.

10 Minute Craft Dash with Paper Sweeties

Hello Friends!

(This is my second post of the day...for my Paper Sweeties Release Rewind click here )

I am sharing a card I made very quickly for the 10 Minute Craft Dash which is sponsored by Paper Sweeties.  If you are new to the challenge, you basically try to create a card in less than 10 minutes using the color prompt for the challenge. You are allowed to pull your supplies before you start the cardmaking process. I always try to have a sketch/layout in mind before starting. I have participated in quite a few of these now, and I push the envelope more and more these days because I really like to layer or paper piece.  Another tip: Make sure you are not about to run out of tape in your ATG gun. Why Yes this happened to me! Ugh! Thankfully, I had snail adhesive close by. :-)

When I saw the color prompt, I couldn't get Christmas out of my mind even though it's the middle of October with Halloween and Thanksgiving on the brain. So I am grateful, to have one card completed in the Christmas stash.

Enough chit chat...{wink}

Here is what the finished product looked like.

Here is what I pulled to start with. I had way more ambition then time! Bumming I didn't get my twine added on the final card.
Here is the table after. I spend a lot of time sweeping and moving things out of the way.
Since paper piecing takes me the longest, I start there and watch the timer to see how I am doing. If it's taking too long then I scratch that and move on. I figured I would be ok since I just needed to paper piece the hat and scarf, but then I got ambitious again and cut a pom pom in a different color for his hat. :-)

Next, I die-cut the white cardstock and stamped my snowman from Paper Sweeties Snow Friends   directly on the die-cut.  I picked out a snowflake from the same set and randomly stamped it in Peacock Feathers ink leaving room for the sentiment which is from Paper Sweeties Friendship Warms The Heart.  Hard part done! The last thing to do was piece together and layer my patterned papers to the card base. I did add a piece of washi tape where the papers joined. I didn't like the tape that I had pulled and went with another choice.
Time To Complete: 9:06

Here is the color prompt. I hope you will join along for your chance to win some Paper Sweetie goodness!

I am also sharing at: Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes!
Thanks so much for dropping by! Good luck!

Paper Sweeties October Post Release Remix!

Today the Paper Sweeties Design Team is having a Post Release After Party sharing some new and previously released stamps mixing it up a bit!
Using a sentiment from the newly released Give Thanks, I added it to the center of the scallop frame from Home Tweet Home using a Kaleidoscope ink pad to create a multi-tone sentiment.  I added some fall leaves which do have glitter I might add, so I had to use them right!?!?  I further embellished this autumn card by adding a pretty ribbon, twine and a flower.
I hope you will visit the rest of the Design Team to see what they have created today!

Paper Sweeties October Release - Autumn Blessings

Have you been enjoying the Paper Sweeties October Sneak Peeks? The new stamps are in the store and we are sharing some final introductions. If you are just joining in, take a look starting at Day 1 and Day 2 to catch up!

Today, I have a card using two new sets called Autumn Blessings and Give Thanks.

I started by stamping and die-cutting Emma and Jake.  Next, I stamped and paper-pieced their Indian outfits. I then added my layered pattern papers to the brown card base. I added a heart doily to the center as a focal backdrop for Emma and Jake placing a sunflower between them for a sweet embellishment.

I stamped the Autumn Blessings sentiment and added it to the top of my card.
I completed the card by adding a sentiment to the inside.
I am sure you want to see what the other Paper Sweeties design team created to inspire you!  Head over to their blogs to see what they have to share.

Thank you for visiting me and do come back tomorrow for the Paper Sweeties "After Party" featuring new and previously released sets.

The Kraft Journal 142 - Discover Something New

Hey y'all!

(It's been a super duper busy weekend on the blog....This is my third post for today please click here for my Paper Sweeties Release Day 2 and for my Craftin' Desert Divas Guest Post Halloween Card click here.)  You will need to scroll a little further for The Ribbon Reel Eerie Elegance Card and a little more for the DeNami Designs Happy Halloween Blog Hop Thank you so much!)

It's Monday and that means a new challenge at The Kraft Journal. For today's Discover Something New challenge, I decided to use a product that is new to me at The Kraft Outlet: The Stretched Burlap 3x3. This product is on sale right now.  This is the perfect time to pick some up!

I am also switching gears from Halloween to Christmas! We like to mix things up a bit here on the ol' blog! :-)))

I used that as my starting point and added white acrylic paint.  I had a vintage Santa image in my stash and added it to a painted C-Flute Corrugated Kraft Paper which has been die-cut and layered upon a die-cut from Half Size Blackboard Stock Paper

I then added some Black Twill Tape around the outside of the burlap frame tied in a bow which was embellished with a glittered button and Black Baker's Twine. The tag was stamped with images from DeNami Design Classic Christmas Set and Christmas Greeting Stamp Set. For a finishing touch, I added touches of glitter to the Santa image, C-Flute Corrugated Kraft Paperand tag.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Discover Something New creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am also linking up at,  Sunday {Fun}day - Linky Party, Just B Creative - Just Because Linky, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes.
