The Ribbon Reel Supplies used:
I decided to use my white card base as my ONE solid paper and kept this more of a fairly clean and simple card.  My sentiment is from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.

Totally shopped my stash with some Bunny Hugs and Kisses!

Hi there!

First, I want to say I will be taking a bit of a blogging break. I will have things scheduled and posted, but will be away from my computer and craftroom for awhile. I will be back among the living in a few weeks.

I never got around to making as many Easter cards as I wanted this year.  The next challenge was getting to the post office just didn't happen. There was just too much going on, but while I was putting some things away I just had to see if I could squeeze time in to make one more card, and I challenged myself to make every last bit of it from my scrap pile including the card base and the embossed pennant.

I started with a Lilac Card base onto which I added my layers of solid and patterned papers. Next I added three pennant die-cut banners. I had a left over embossed scrap I decided to die-cut a pennant from since the letterpress technique had already been used in Milled Lavender. (knew I could use that someday)

The sentiment and paper pieced bunny is from the newly released Paper Sweeties lines: Jelly Bean Time and Hippity Hoppity.  He's quite possibly the cutest bunny ever! :-)

Inspiration was found and made putting together this card a piece of cake at Tuesday Morning Sketches

Happy St. Patrick's Day~ Whew got one made!

Happy Wednesday!

I don't think I have every been quite this behind with my St. Patrick's Day cards. I know many don't make them, but I usually make a few for close friends and family. I can honestly say that my 2013 has been a super busy one, so my free play time has been sparse.

Having said that...I have a card I made quickly, and I mean quickly...not 10 minute craft dash quickly, but quick for this girl. I didn't have a lot of spare time, so I seriously rummaged through my scrap pile as I am determined to reduce my load there and here is what I came up with!
I started by coloring the DeNami Designs Shamrock Chickies with Copics as well as colored pencils and mineral spirits. I die-cut them out using Labels 25 by Spellbinders. Next I cut a pennant banner and added it horizontally and layered my Chickies on top. I created a pennant banner at the top in Rainbow colors and tied off with some Green and White Baker's Twine. The buttons are from DeNami Designs   Tutti Fruitti and Sweetheart Boutique Button collections.  One last finishing touch was adding three Prima Flowers with green pearl centers.

So there you have it folks. I think it took me longer to write the post!

Further inspiration was found at Playing in Paradise - Green - Lucky or Irish Challenge. Craftin' Desert Diva's- Linky Party! Paper Playtime - Anything Goes

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Guest Designer for Playing In Paradise Challenge 68

Hi!

I was fortunate enough to win a Playing in Paradise challenge, and was asked to be a guest designer. This week comes with a color challenge.

Here is my card:
I started with an aqua card base and applied my pieced papers. A green zig zag border was added to the center.  A length of brown satin ribbon was added to the left side of the card front pleating the top finishing off with some twine, button and a yellow rose for a decorative touch.
An oval nestie was cut and some fun decorative tape was added down the center. The typewriter image is from Wilson Designs Ride Away with Me which was stamped in Vintage Sepia on Kraft Cardstock. A beautiful yellow bloom was added.
The Thinking of You sentiment is also from Wilson Designs Ride Away With Me

Here is your color inspiration for the week. I hope you will join in and play along.
Definitely not my go to colors, but that is why I like a challenge.

I hope you have a fantastic day!

Friendship Tulle and Text

** This card was selected as City Crafter's Spotlight Artist pick Thank you so much...I am truly honored again and again**

How about that title?

Popping in with a spring greeting for a friend.  I started by piecing together a piece of patterned paper to a piece of cream cardstock that has been stamped with a scripted text from Hero Arts.
A doily was added and slightly tinted using Antique Linen by Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  A length of seam binding was added and tied into a fussy bow adding some lavender tulle, button, twine, and a hand stamped sentiment tag by Wilson Designs Spring Silhouettes
A cardstock die cut from K & Company was added to the card front placing a beautiful bloom to the center adding two die-cut leaves from a page of a vintage book further embellishing with two sweet paper roses.
I was inspired by the current City Crafter Challenge use text and tulle.

Playing in Paradise Challenge 8 Thinking of You!

Hello there!

As I stared at the inspiration photo for the Playing in Paradise Challenge I kept going back to the Tree from the Wilson Designs Ride Away With Me set, and I just sort of built the card from there. Since the focal point is muted I kept the tone in my card as such. I took some inspiration from the roses on the bedding and added some pink and white floral rosettes to my lace trim. I love that it gives just a little pop of color as such in the photograph.

As many of my regular readers and friends know, I am living without all my crafty items for awhile, and on this card I was really missing my embossing folders. I had many ideas, but less is more sometimes! :-)
My sentiment is from Wilson Designs Ride Away with Me.
Isn't this a unique bed?  It's a unique room really...take a good look above the pillows! It's definitely a good mix of masculine and feminine. Interesting to say the least and I had fun using it as inspiration!
I am also playing along with Simply Create: Do It Yourself
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!
