Basketball - Thanks

Hello friends,

I am sure most of you are starting to get busy with your Thanksgiving preparations.

Today, I have a quick CAS card to share with you. Yes, this girl made a CAS card that took me under 15 minutes to make (and part of that was travel time to the basement where my Cameo is housed).

My son recently had a birthday, and on his actual birthday he and a buddy went to a Washington Wizards basketball game. These two played basketball together last year, so naturally, he wanted me to make his friend a basketball card to thank him for going with him and for the gift he received.

I started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock base which is not visually seen from the front. I covered the Kraft base with patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket that I have had FOREVER! Digging into my leftover scraps, I found a piece of solid green cardstock (pulling the green from the patterned paper) and added to the center. I die-cut the word thanks in black from a My Creative Time set.

Next, my trip to the basement to cut the basketball out using my Cameo. I have a very thin left over piece of Orange Cardstock and I added that to give a border on the green cardstock (want not waste not). I added the basketball to the center adding the sentiment just below to complete this very simple card.

Hopefully his friend will like it and remember their special time to their first NBA game.  Here is a picture of the boys and their basketball coach watching the game intently.

I am sharing at Amusing Challenge - Thanks.

A little humor before I sign off.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hope you have a ball...

Good Monday Morning!

It's Take Your Pick week at The Kraft Journal! Yay! I always enjoy these! They are so fun! Basically, you can go with any theme or occasion as long as you pick THREE things from the list below and use Kraft cardstock or items that can be purchased from The Kraft Outlet

I have a Basketball themed birthday card to share this week!

I started by creating a 5 x 5 card base of Brown Kraft Cardstock.  I then adhered patterned paper to the base which incorporated the color coral. Another of the pick three this round is to use Blue, so I incorporated it as the liner to my patterned paper strip as well as the star. The star base is created from Chipboard.  I stamped my sentiment inside my star and added a cute "funny" face at the top from Peachy Keen Stamps.

I cut the basketball and hoop from the Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge.  I took a length of Orange Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a Bow. A final embellishing touch was adding a few enamel dots.

Please join us with your creations this week. Here is what you have to choose from for the Take your Pick!
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Take Your Pick creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Thanks Coach - You're a Slam Dunk!

Tuesday Greetings to you!

I don't know about you, but we have been having some brutal cold weather! Last week we were in the single digits with windchills in the negative numbers! Our temps are highs in the 30's today, and after last week that feels like a heatwave! Bring on spring! However it was 7 degrees when I woke up this morning!

Well, I had a card I needed to work on for my short stack to give to his Coach at the end of the basketball season.  My little guy lucked out with a great coach. His team didn't have a coach, and this awesome guy stepped up and volunteered and he is amazing! He doesn't have a child on the team, so he is doing it purely for the love of the sport and mentoring kids. He is such a positive influence, and he NEVER gets upset with them. He always has something good and encouraging to say!

I used a Deconstructed Sketch for inspiration of my layout.
The Star and Basketball were created by using my Cameo.  All the papers are bits from my stash.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom: Go Team, Washi Tape: The Kraft Outlet.

Here is the sketch:
I am also joining in at City Crafter's Challenge: Use It Up!

and at Simon Says Stamp: No Rules

Thanks for popping by for a look!
Have a fantastic Tuesday!
