Kraft Journal Tutorial - Make Your Own A2 Envelopes with Liners

Hi!

(If you are looking for my DeNami Designs Product Spotlight post please click here)

It's my turn to host a tutorial at The Kraft Journal this week. I am going to show you One way to make your own A2 envelopes and liners.

First let's gather some supplies
Stylus
Paper Trimmer
Corner Rounder
Scissors (Not pictured)
Adhesive
A Scoring Board

Cut your Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock to 7 3/4" by 10 ".
Take the long ends and Score at 1" on both sides.
Now turn it so the long side is at the top and Score at 2 1/2" and 7".
Fold all your score lines.
Cut out the rectangles at all 4 corners.
For the liner, cut your Vintage Dictionary Pages at 5 1/2" x 5 ".

Use adhesive to put your liner inside the envelope.

The part not pictured and is optional is rounding the corners of your flaps. This is the time to do this before you add adhesive to the lower portion only of the side flaps. (About where the liner stopped and where you see the adhesive sitting.
Bring your bottom flap up and you are finished! :-)

Flower Box Window - DeNami Product Spotlight Blog Hop

Hi!

Today DeNami Designs is spotlighting the Flower Box Window cling stamp. You get a 10% savings for one week only! It's also a Design Team Blog Hop and I am your LAST STOP on the HOP! Hopefully you have hopped along the way and left a comment for your chance to win this stamp! If you are just wondering in, no problem, you can find the list below!
I started this card with a DeNami Amethyst cardstock base. I took a piece of white cardstock and embossed it next wrapping Sapphire/White Baker's Twine around the lower portion of the panel and tied in a bow. I then added the panel to the card base.

I stamped, cut, and colored the Flower Box Window and added to the center of the card. The Flower Box itself was paper-pieced using some pretty patterned paper.

Inspired by a card my friend Colleen created some time ago, she had flowers gushing out of a flower box I always think of her when I see the DeNami Flower Box Window stamp. I wish I had bookmarked it.  I made a mental note of those beautiful gushing flowers.  Thanks Col for the inspiration!

Now believe it or not, the next part was inspired by my son!!! He saw me trying to find pearls small enough for the centers of the tiny punched flowers and he came running in from his room with his glitter glue! Although, I didn't take him up on his product offer, I did tell him he was a genius and I pulled out my stickles! Lastly, I die-cut some clouds and added the Thinking of You sentiment from the Thoughtful Greeting Stamp set.

Now don't forget to leave a comment before you go! You could be the proud new owner of this stamp!!!
   Thanks for Stopping by!

Totally shopped my stash with some Bunny Hugs and Kisses!

Hi there!

First, I want to say I will be taking a bit of a blogging break. I will have things scheduled and posted, but will be away from my computer and craftroom for awhile. I will be back among the living in a few weeks.

I never got around to making as many Easter cards as I wanted this year.  The next challenge was getting to the post office just didn't happen. There was just too much going on, but while I was putting some things away I just had to see if I could squeeze time in to make one more card, and I challenged myself to make every last bit of it from my scrap pile including the card base and the embossed pennant.

I started with a Lilac Card base onto which I added my layers of solid and patterned papers. Next I added three pennant die-cut banners. I had a left over embossed scrap I decided to die-cut a pennant from since the letterpress technique had already been used in Milled Lavender. (knew I could use that someday)

The sentiment and paper pieced bunny is from the newly released Paper Sweeties lines: Jelly Bean Time and Hippity Hoppity.  He's quite possibly the cutest bunny ever! :-)

Inspiration was found and made putting together this card a piece of cake at Tuesday Morning Sketches

Scrapbooker's Paradise - Let's Add Some Banners!
Shopping Our Stash - Easter or Spring: I can seriously exclaim I am excited about using some papers I have been flipping over in my scrap box for..like... ever... sadly, I still have lots more of it!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Easter! My blog will be posting (fingers crossed) a few times while I am on break, but I look forward to catching up when I return.

DeNami March Pin-spired ~ Spring Greetings!

Hello there!

It's my turn to do a creation for the 2nd DeNami  Pin-spired of the month!  This is our second month showcasing this new feature where the DeNami Design Team is divided into two groups and we are given a Pinterest inspired photo. The possibilities are endless because we can create based on colors, theme, layout, or objects shown in the photograph.

Here is my creation:
and here is the inspiration photograph...
For today's photograph, I used the colors and the spring theme to inspire my creation.

I started by creating a square scallop card base from buff ivory cardstock. I added some textured patterned paper that was in my stash that I cut to fit my base. A doily was die-cut from lavender cardstock. A smaller doily in pistachio was die-cut and provided the focal layer for my stamped Spring Greetings which was part of the new release in January.  The Easter Egg is from The Easter Stamp Set and I use it a lot!! :-) I layered the pistachio doily onto the center of lavender doily where finishing touches of buttons and paper flowers were added down the left side of the center greeting.
I am really enjoying this showcasing! Be sure to check out a few of my teammates who have created something fabulous with this "Pin-spired" photo.
You won't want to miss their takes!

I am also joining in the fun at My Sheri Crafts - Easter and Simply Create Too - Easter or Bunnies

The Kraft Journal 112 - Favorite Color with Kraft

Hello!
{Blessed that this was a winner at Word Art Wednesday on 3/20/13)

Wow, here we are at Monday again! Today's challenge at The Kraft Journal is "Favorite Color with Kraft" I love White and Kraft together, but since that was a recent challenge, I thought I would share another love of mine which is Kraft with Red and Cream. I also adore Black and Kraft together and I think that is classy too! But stepping away from the neutrals, there is something about red and kraft together!

I started this card today, by taking a piece of red star patterned paper from my stash and distressing the edges. I then added the panel to my Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock. Using Buff Ivory Cardstock, I printed some red gingham papers from Cupcake Cards and Crafts, which I cut a small panel and distressed the edges.  I added a die-cut doily from which I cut out of Lunch Bag Kraft Text Paper to add to the top and bottom of that panel.

Using stamps and dies from WPlus9, I stamped a frame onto Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock onto which I added those delicious strawberries which were cut from Buff Ivory Cardstock.  A button laced with Natural Hemp Cord was added to the sentiment banner.

Lastly, I took some Natural Hemp Cord and wrapped it around the top of the card and tied off in a bow.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other gals.  We hope to see your Favorite Color with Kraft Project in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am also joining in the fun at: Sunday {Fun}day 7 - Anything Goes Linky Party, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Have a Marvelous Monday!

The Ribbon Reel #49...Spring Cottage...

Hello~

Welcome to another challenge at The Ribbon Reel! I am actually the host and I would like to see you create a card or project using the inspiration photo below, using the colors PINK, YELLOW, AND AQUA, plus ribbon and flowers

Supplies from The Ribbon Reel

I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring and warmer temps. We have had a mild winter in my parts, but this girl runs on solar power! This card is inspired by all the new things Spring can bring!

I started by piecing my patterned paper to my yellow embossed cardstock and adding to my card base.  I then added the beautiful trims.  I stamped and heat embossed a bicycle image from Hero Arts.

Taking inspiration from the photo, I draped down my beautiful Cherry Blossom blooms on the line and added some encouraging sentiments from Paper Sweeties from the Mahalo and You Make Me Smile sets.

Here is your inspiration photo! I feel in love with it as soon as I saw it! I knew instantly I wanted to use this when it was my turn to host!

Good Luck - Waltzingmouse Blog Party - March

Hello~

{Edit to note that this was card given the Quasar Award at Papercraft Star on 3/19/13}

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I have a quick post for the Waltzingmouse Blog party. The theme this month is LUCK!

Here is my card!

Lots of distressing and fun with Washi! :-)  I started with a Lunch Bag Kraft card base brushing some white paint along the edges. I distressed the edges of my patterned paper and added to the card base tucking a doily behind the top layer. Another doily was added to the center adhering some bookprint washi tape. From Fancy Phrases, the sentiment and frame was stamped using Olympia Green Ink.
A Green clover was cut, embellished with a button and sugar coated with some chunky glitter for a decorative touch and placed on a scallop circle cut out from vintage book print.
A final finishing touch was adding some Natural hemp twine to the top of the card tying in a double bow. I hope you are inspired to play along with the WMS Blog Party!

Paper Sweeties March Release Wrap Up!

Hi Friends!

I have one more card to share with you as the final wrap up to the March Paper Sweeties release.

I took a length of green and white baker's twine and wrapped it around the card front and tied in bow adding a tag with butterfly and a button. A row of yummy buttons were added to further embellish this Spring beauty.

I stamped out the words SPRING using Fancy Monograms in Olympia Green ink and added to the bottom of my card! I finished off the card by adding part of a doily to the top adding in a piece of patterned paper along with a button to the center.

Paper Sweeties Day 3 March Release - A Basket Full of Love For You!

Hello~

It's Day 3 of the Paper Sweeties March Release.  All the new stamp sets are available, but the Design Team is sharing some project ideas with the new stamps. We will be back tomorrow for one last wrap up.

I thought I would share a cute little Easter Basket perfect for a neighbor, teacher, or a special friend.  I started with a peat pot and I added some white paint for a shabby look. I took some pastel rainbow ribbon and wrapped it around the center of my pot.
The new release sentiment A Basket Full of LOVE for You was stamped off to the right of a fancy label to allow room for the sweet little bunny.  I created a recipe card to include with my basket which I stamped the basket image from Jelly Bean Time

Hop on over to the other design team gals to see what they came up with for March's new release.   Just click the names below to find further inspiration.
Thank you for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow with one last card for this month's release.
