With Sympathy

Hi!

I've been MIA due to scheduling conflicts. It makes it hard to find time to get in my crafty space and get creative these days. It's all good, but I need to clone me on most days.

I have a sympathy card to share today using Cardabilites as my starting point.

I started up with Buff Ivory Cardstock as the base of the card onto which I added my pieced patterned paper from a K & Company paper stack I've had for quite sometime. I added a length of crochet trim where the papers meet for added texture and visual interest.  I used a sentiment from My Pink Stamper. I think the script is so pretty.  I added lots of pretty flowers to include crochet flowers that I layered on top of the other.
I am going to keep this short and sweet this morning!

As mentioned, I found inspiration from Cardabilites Sketch Challenge.

I hope you have a great day!

With Sympathy

Hi!

{This is my second post of the day. For The Kraft Journal Sketch Challenge...you can scroll down or click here...hope you check it out and play along with us}

As many of you know from my post last week, I had to make a sympathy card for my husband's co-worker. Here is the other card for his other co-worker who also lost his father. They are so hard for me to make. It's hard knowing this person just lost a parent.

I used the sketch from Cardabilites as my inspiration.

I used a sentiment from My Pink Stamper. I am not sure if she is selling stamps or not any more. But I think the script is so pretty.  I added lots of pretty flowers and a butterfly punched from Kraft cardstock.

I am going to keep this short and sweet this afternoon!

As mentioned, I found inspiration from Cardabilites Sketch Challenge.

I am also sharing at Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes, Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes, Little Scrap Pieces - Saturday Linky Party.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your afternoon! We are expecting thunderstorms which more than likely is going to cancel our baseball game this evening! Boo since our game on Saturday got cancelled too.

Have a GREAT day! Thanks for stopping by!

Praying For You

Hi There!

How are you this Wednesday Morning? Is it finally starting to warm up where you are? (Florida and Hawaii readers excluded from this question {*wink*}!

I have a card I made for someone that really needs to be held up in prayer right now. Truly more than you can imagine. So all I can do at this time is let her know I am praying for her and will continue to do so.

I kept the design very basic because at this time it's not about the card, but the message and the thought. I used a Glitz Paper Pack - Happy Travels, PTI- Rosie Posie and Damask Designs. I punched a few butterflies and bent their wings upwards for flight. :-)

I found inspiration from Cardabilities

The Kraft Journal #146 - Use Any Sketch

This is my second post of the day, for my guest design post for The Shabby Tea Room please click here.

For today's "Use Any Sketch" I used a sketch that can be found here from Cardabilities.  A card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight was used adhering fall patterned papers to it.  A die-cut doily was cut from Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock and added below the middle panel leaving a portion peeking out.

A length of Metallic Twist Hemp Cord was wrapped around the center of the card front multiple times and embellished with a Sand button. I then took a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon and added to the center.

Lastly, I took Black Banner Stickers and added them to the coordinating Chipboard Banner Pieces and then spelled out the word FALL. Then I took the banner pieces and added to the card front to complete the card.

Here is the sketch I used for inspiration from Cardabilites:
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Use Any Sketch creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello and Happy Friday to you all!

{Delighted that this was chosen Winner at The Shabby Tea Room on 10/21/13}

I am behind in fall creating lately, so I took a prompt from The Shabby Tea Room to give me some inspiration. I am going to keep this brief as possible today! Lots on the to-do list, so if you have any questions you can email me or leave a comment at any time.

I have hoarded these crochet mats from my friend Jessi forever, so I decided that letting them stay in my drawer wasn't going to make anyone happy. However, I may leave the rest in there until I can come to terms using another. *sigh* Aren't they gorgeous. She makes these by hand. I added a piece of orange and cream patterned paper to the center to be a pretty backdrops for the pumpkins. One pumpkin was a die-cut and the other I created.
I used some pretty fall papers and added a length of lace trim at the top. A double bow created using pumpkin ribbon from my "antique" stash was added for a decorative touch along with some sunflowers and green leaves.  The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties - Occasions stamp set.

As mentioned, I am joining at: The Shabby Tea Room - Fall. We were asked to: INCLUDE A FALL THEME, PUMPKINS AND A STAMPED SENTIMENT!

The Kraft Journal 121 - Red, White OR Blue - Happy Birthday

Happy Monday Morning to you!

{For The Ribbon Reel Post please click here.}

For today's "Red, White, OR Blue" challenge at The Kraft Journal, I went with the color RED. Red looks fantastic with Kraft, but so does, Black and Kraft and White and Kraft.... well anything looks great with Kraft. :-)  For today's card, I started with a Kraft Cover weight card base onto which I added the red and white stripe patterned paper. I die-cut an oval using a Floral Oval Nestabilities die out of red card stock and placed it in the center.

Next I cut various lengths of banners and stamped sentiments from Paper Sweeties Enjoy Your Day in red ink. I have lots of paper flowers in my stash, so I thought it would be fun to add a row along the center. To complete the look, I  tied a double bow by using a length of Natural Twill Tape which I further embellished with a button and Red and White Baker's Twine

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other gals.  We hope to see your Red, White, OR Blue creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.  Be sure to stop back by on Wednesday as I am on The Kraft Journal blog with a fun little tutorial for you.

Inspiration for this card was found at the Cardabilities Blog.
I hope you have a Marvelous Monday!

Happy 7th Birthday - Giveaway Winner

Hi!

My son is invited to a birthday party, so I got busy to make a card because it seems I am not very smart in having a stash of kids birthday cards on hand....which means I end up making a card when I need one.  So I have a fun little number using some DeNami goodies today!

I started with some fun patterned paper from DCWV Nana's Kid's stack and layered on my card base.   I created a banner at the top using pistachio cardstock adding DeNami Sapphire Buttons laced with twine as an embellishing touch.

In the center of my white circle die, I created my own patterned paper by using DeNami Designs Birthday Celebration Set coloring with Copic Markers. A Happy Birthday sentiment was masked and stamped on two banner pieces and tucked in under the focal image that contains a die-cut 7 and the cutest paper-pieced elephant.

Inspiration for my card was found at Cardabilities.

I have two winners to announce for my Birthday Celebration giveaway via Random.org!  Drum Roll Please....

So sweet of you!

Hey there and Happy Sunday to you!

I have a card to share with you using some Wilson Designs Stamps. I can't get enough of the new release! It's truly just a beautiful set. I stamped the lacey doilies from Lacey Lovelies with kraft ink onto my kraft cardstock. I then created my own embellishment by stamping the bigger doily onto my green patterned paper in white kraft ink adding white embossing powder and heat set. Next I fussy cut it and added to make my trio of embellishments.
The sentiment is from Wilson Designs Strawberry lemonade
I wanted some spring/beachy colors. I do miss the weather and beaches in Hawaii. I am not complaining because our first "real" winter has been mild.

I used the sketch over at Cardabilities for my layout inspiration.
All papers were created from my good ol scrap pile, so I am joining in again with Di over at Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
