Happy New Year {The Kraft Journal #204}

Good Morning on this last week of 2014!  Can you believe it? I sure can't. I hope you all had a nice Christmas!

I am sharing with you a card for The Kraft Journal.  Our new challenge this week: Happy New Year!  We want to see your New Year Creations using either Kraft cardstock or products from the The Kraft Outlet
I started this card by piecing together the patterned papers and adding them to the base of Blackboard Stock Paper.  I die-cut a Stitched Vintage label from My Creative Time and placed it to center of the card.  The word Celebrate also from My Creative Time was die-cut using Blackboard Stock Paper and placed in the middle of the label.

Next, I took a toothpick and created a flag from Black and White Polka Dot Washi Tape wrapping it with Metallic Hemp Cord.  To the right of the flag, I added a Black Wooden Clothespin to hold the Metallic Hemp cord.  I then stamped the Happy New Year sentiment on a stitched label and placed in the lower left of the card front. Lastly, I just added a few embellishing touches to include a glitter star made from chipboard and a few silver sequins scattered about.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Happy New Year creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Wishing you all a wonderful final week into 2014~
Blessings,

Holiday Hugs - {Trendy Twine}

Good Morning and I want to wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

The Trendy Twine Design Team would like to share our very best Christmas Wishes with you today by sharing some Christmas cards, so head over to the Trendy Twine Blog to see what they have created for you!

If you are here, then you have a look at mine! :)
I started this card by piecing together the two patterned paper pieces to a forest green card base.  I added a white doily to the center. Next I wrapped a length of Oatmeal Cream Seam Binding from The Kraft Outlet around the card front which I embellished with a red button, a bow from Holly Berry Trendy Twine, and a couple of green jingle bells! :)
Next I added a red die-cut circle to the center of the doily which I outlined with Holly Berry Trendy Twine.  I stamped a jar, lid and Gingerbread men from Candy Jar Christmas Fillers by Waltzingmouse Stamps, fussy cut, adhered just to the right of my embellished bow. I then took two chenille candy canes and tied them together with a bow from Holly Berry Trendy Twine adding to the right side of the card front.  Lastly, the sentiments Holiday Hugs was stamped in red ink onto a banner made from Kraft cardstock and added to the upper right corner.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I want to again wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

TKJ#202 Color Challenge - Christmas Wreath

Hello Friends~

Boy we sure are winding down and getting closer and closer to the big day! 10 days to be exact! Whew! Are y'all ready?

We have an inspiration photo with color challenge for you this week at The Kraft Journal.  Since it's such a busy time of the year, I kept my card fairly simply letting my electronic cutting machine do most of the work. Also makes it flat for mailing.

As previously stated in other post, I am leaving sentiments off the front so that I can have the option to use as a Thank You note after the holidays. I always need those, and when all the gifts are put away and decorations are down, it usually takes me awhile to get motivated again and find my mojo. This makes it easier on me in a few weeks having these cards complete, and all I have to do is write a note of thanks inside and send it on it's way.

Sorry for the dark photos...rainy dark day
I started with a base of Brown Kraft cardstock which I added an embossed layer of Buff Ivory cardstock.  Next I created two pennant banners and layered them on top of the other.  I used a sprig from DeNami Design Classic Christmas Stamp Set to create a random background on my top layer for a little more visual interest.
As mentioned, I used a file that I purchased from the Silhouette Store to cut my wreath.

Have a look at the inspiration photo provided by The Kraft Journal.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your "color challenge" creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am also sharing at Craftin' Desert Divas - Christmas Linky Party, Pumpkin Spice - Freebie Friday, Silhouette Challenge - Anything Goes.

Have a Fantastic week!

DeNami Designs Sponsors Stamp Nation

Hi there!

(I wanted to add that I have NOT turned on Word Verification and I checked my settings and it still says NO, so if anyone knows how to fix this please advise. This has been done by blogger and I have seen it on other blogs as well ugh....)

Ok....I just wanted to share a quick post to let you in on some fun... DeNami Design is joining Catherine Pooler of  Stamp Nation for a sketch challenge as their sponsor! I did not have a chance to get a sketch card put together as I was out of town, but I did have another card I would like to share in honor of this great collaboration.
I wanted to use one of DeNami Design's newest Christmas stamps Woodland Christmas. I used a little bit of sponging and watercoloring on this cutie patootie new stamp.
I choose to leave the sentiment off to give myself the option to either use as a Christmas thank you after the holidays or put a Merry Christmas message inside.

Here is the sketch for the cross promotion. {I am not sure why it says August, but it is the correct sketch}
Be sure to head over to both the DeNami and Stamp Nation sites to get all of the information needed for your chance to win!  DeNami is having 4 Giveaways and Stamp Nation will be having 2. You won't want to miss out!

If you get a chance, check out Catherine Pooler's video on the cute shaker card she made using some DeNami Design products!!!!

Thank you for stopping by! Hope you will join in the fun!

Hemp Twine with The Kraft Journal

Hello There!

It's my turn to share a product spotlight at The Kraft Journal. I have a few creations that feature The Kraft Outlet's Natural Hemp Cord.  It's my favorite to use to thread buttons and it curls up so easy as you can see in my tags below.
I created some tags made from Brown Kraft Coverweight cardstock where I used the Natural Hemp Cord for the hanging string, but what I really love as I mentioned is how you can take a thin paintbrush handle or pencil and wrap the cord around several times and it will curl right up giving you curlycue's...It will hold it's shape.
DeNami Deisign - To From stamp
My Creative Time - Boughs of Holly
Next I created a Thank you card to have on hand once the holidays are over. The Button/twine embellishment treatment was inspired by bracelets I saw on pinterest.
I started the card with a base of Brown Kraft Coverweight cardstock.  I used Blackboard Stock Paper to mat the pinstripe patterned paper on the left side of the card front. The Blackboard Paper was also used for the frame in the middle of the card.  The trees were stamped onto Vintage Dictionary Pages and cut out with a coordinating die.

Natural Hemp Cord was laced through the vintage white button and wrapped around the pinstripe panel to create a unique embellishing touch.

Silent Night Holy Night {DeNami Designs}

Good Tuesday Morning to you!

Are you staying warm? I can't believe we are getting closer and closer to Christmas. I have a card to share with you showcasing another image from the latest release from DeNami Design. I loved this image because it captures what the true meaning of Christmas is all about.

Isn't the Nativity Silhouette image just beautiful?  I stamped it inside of the Large Double Circle
I started by piecing together two patterned papers and adding it to my Kraft card base. I added a length of crochet lace trim where the papers meet. I stamped the Silent Night sentiment on cardstock and trimmed a box around it and finished it off by rounding the corners.
I wanted to embellish my card a little further by creating a bow made from Oatmeal Seam Binding adding a Boutique Sand Button to the center.

Joy Christmas Treats

Good Morning Friends!

I thought I would share some treats I created to go in a care package. The picture is not great because I was in a race against time to get them finished and in the mail because they are traveling pretty far.  I am hoping they reach their destination before Christmas. So, I apologize as  I just snapped the picture quickly not fussing with presentation! :-)

I have more of these to make, so I am sure you will be seeing the same thing maybe using different papers, tags and images in a few days. (If time works on my side that is). Every year I think I am going to get a jump start and I never seem to get all the task I want completed.

I actually made 4 of these for the care package. (Sadly, the group shot didn't turn out and they are already on their merry way) I used a tray I found in the Silhouette Store which made this project so much quicker to complete. I made them by hand in the past.  The tag is also a file I have from the Silhouette Store. The snowman and sentiment are both from Paper Smooches.  Perfect embellishing touch is Trendy Twine Holly Berry twine  (Which is on sale right now).

I am going to share at: Decorate To Celebrate - Anything Goes, Craftin Desert Divas - Christmas,   DL Art - Any Winter Holiday, Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes, Pause Dream, Enjoy - Christmas, Silhouette Challenge - Anything Goes, Pumpkin Spice - Anything Holiday

Thank you for stopping by and having a peek.

Making the sentiment a focal point {DeNami Design}

Hello Friends~

I am back bringing you another card showcasing a newly released stamp from DeNami Design where I use the sentiment as a focal point.
I started this card by piecing together the patterned papers and adding to the Hunter Green card base.  I then wrapped the piece over the connection of the papers with white seam binding ribbon which I tied in a fussy bow and embellished with a bow made of raffia topped with a red button laced with red hemp twine.

Next I die-cut a scallop oval shape on white cardstock. I stamped the Peace Hope and Joy sentiment in the center using Hunter Green Ink. I used a die-cut of Holly I had leftover from a previous project and added them to the lower right of the oval framed sentiment. You can add anything you may have in your supplies for an embellishing touch. Lastly, a trio of pearls was added to the upper right corner to complete this Christmas card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! Be sure to check out the new release here.

Penguins In Igloo Fun! {DeNami Design}

Hey There!

I thought I would share a card I created for the DeNami Design Blog. It's featuring one of their new stamps they just released Penguins in Igloo.  I decided not to add a sentiment to the card front so I could leave open for a couple of options.  I am always in need of Thank You cards after the holidays, so this would be a darling option for that.  Another option would be to create an invitation on the inside for a Holiday Party. It sure looks like those cuties are saying come in and let's be Merry!

It's a simple one, just by adding a few layers of solid and patterned paper to the base, you create a cute frame for your focal image, and a pretty cute card!  You can either color in with markers or pencils. For a little extra sparkle, I used a Quickie Glue Pen and Blue Ice Glitter to their hats. Easy to change out color combinations as well. The possibilities are limitless.
It's simple, but cute! I hope you have a Terrific Thursday! Thank you for stopping by for a quick visit. I always appreciate it!

Trendy Twine 12 Days of Christmas Day 2

Hello~

Thank you for joining me as part of the Trendy Twine 12 Days of Christmas series I'm Day 2!!! Our goal is to give you some gift packaging ideas and feature some gorgeous Trendy Twine.
On this 2nd day, I am sharing a sweet Kraft Gable Box which I stamped some sweet peppermints in red ink. Next I wrapped a band of pretty peppermint ribbon around the center of my box. I made a paper rosette and I added it to the center using a button to anchor a bow made from Holly Berry Trendy Twine.
I made a bow of red seam binding and more yummy Holly Berry Trendy Twine and added it to the box handle to complete this sweetly decorated package. All that is left is to fill it up with treats for Holiday gift giving!

It really is easy to put together cute packaging and not have to put a lot of time in and your recipients will be impressed. The Kraft Gable Box is the perfect blank canvas. You can go simple or really have fun and create detailed packaging. Either way it's sure to wow!

It's the perfect size to hold a gift card. For an added treat, I used Rolo's candy as a base for the gift card to sit on.

Christmas Gift Tags {The Kraft Journal}

Good Morning!

So are you ready for Christmas and Winter and Jolly Good Cheer?  Every year I never feel prepared. Today I have some quick and easy tags to share with you and it just happens to fall in place with the new challenge this week at The Kraft Journal - Christmas Gift Tags.
I started by using the Large Kraft Shipping Tags from The Kraft Outlet.  I was more than happy to look through my various scraps and leftovers from my patterned paper collections to dress the bottom of the tags. Always happy to give my scraps a new home. :)
I used Buff Ivory card stock on the circle and scallop circle you see in three of the tags. Don't forget that Washi Tape makes an excellent way to dress up your projects, I added the Musical Notes Washi Tape to one of mine.  Red Baker's Twine was used to lace two of the buttons and create a hanging string to tie to the packages they will be dressing up. By using the Large Kraft Shipping Tags, you already have a base ready to go. This makes for quick and easy assembly.

I pulled out various Holiday stamp sets and just randomly chose one as I created. The Snowflake background as well as the Holly in the corner of one of the tags is from My Craft Spot - Ornate Labels Christmas.  Below are the stamp sets I used:

Guest Designing today for My Craft Spot

Hi There!

Did you all have a nice Thanksgiving? How many of you folks braved or braving the Black Friday Crowds?  Not this girl....no way! However, SALE ALERT at the end of this post!!!! You can shop in the comfort of your own home!

I am so glad you stopped by today because I am sure excited to share that I am guest designing at My Craft Spot today!

I have three different projects to share with you so let's get started:

Ornate Labels - Christmas: I stamped the Winter Wonderland sentiment inside an oval die-cut. I added the snowflake flourish to the top and bottom to complete the focal image.
Ornate Labels - Christmas and Ornate Label Die: I stamped the frame and sentiment then I used the Label die to cut it out. I took the entire collection of snowflakes that come in the Ornate Labels - Christmas set and added to my acrylic block. I then randomly stamped the snowflakes to the kraft panels which I adhered to the treat box before it was assembled.
The file for the treat box was one I have had and have been meaning to create a project with. I really like how it turned out.
 I used my Cricut Doodlecharms Cartridge to cut the images for the other panels of the treat box.
I finished the treat box by embellishing with ribbon, a button and some jingle bells.
Jar Full of Flowers and Ornate Label Die: Switching gears from the holidays, I wanted to share a clean and simple Sympathy card using the Ornate Label Die.
I layered the flowers both on the card base and the die-cut adding a pearl to the center for a finishing touch.
I really hope you enjoyed what I have shared today! I would like to thank Kimberly for having me as her guest designer. I love her products and I am thrilled I got to spotlight a few of them today!
