Exciting News...Trendy Twine Little Sister & Giveaway!

Good Morning Everyone!
I have some EXCITING NEWS to share!
And if you stick with me....a GIVEAWAY TOO!
I know some of you know how I enjoy incorporating twine
in some of my cards and projects
well I am going to be a
Trendy Twine Little Sister.
That means I will be over on the Trendy Twine blog
for a few months!
I thought I would share a few projects
I have made with some of the fabulous Trendy Twine.
I created a Strawberry Lemonade Treat Jar, and I used some Tickled Pink Trendy Twine wrapped around the jar neck over some pretty pink ribbon. What's a treat without a tag?  I created a tag using some wonderful stamps from Wilson Designs which were perfect for this gift set called: Strawberry Lemonade. I used the Tickled Pink Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the tag several times and tied it off in a bow. Then using the same twine and ribbon I attached it to the jar.  I took the ends of the twine and curled it up.
Here is a fun Butterfly card using some awesome
Bubblegum Taffy Trendy Twine and a sentiment from Paper Smooches.
Lastly, I have a cute little project inspired by one of the Trendy Twine names!
Twisted Gumball Trendy Twine!
I used a clear box and filled it with some gumballs that coordinated with the twine.
I wrapped the outside several times with the yummy Twisted Gumball Trendy Twine! I stamped and paper pieced a cute little Whale from DeNami Designs and added it to the center of a layered circle adding a Twisted Gumball Trendy Twine bow to the top.

Watch Us Wednesday - Vintage Dictionary Pages - Altered House

Hello Friends,

{This house received Top Honors at Decorate To Celebrate on 7/9/14.}

It's my turn to spotlight a product over on The Kraft Journal blog hosted by The Kraft Outlet.  Today I am featuring Vintage Dictionary Pages. I love using this product on projects and I have used it more than I count.  I reflect back over a few at the end of this post.

I have had this house sitting in my craft room for awhile to alter. I started by giving the house a base coat of vintage white acrylic paint. I sanded the edges and corners for a rustic look. Next, I measured the front and cut the Vintage Dictionary Pages to size leaving the edges/corners showing. I used a coating of Royal Coat to secure it to the house.
The rest is just having fun dressing up and designing as you see fit. All items I used today were either scraps or items I have had in my stash for awhile. Such as these Patriotic Sticker embellishments. I thought they looked fun enough to be "windows". The door is a stamped from Paper Sweeties Cottage Elements.
I incorporated the Vintage Dictionary Pages throughout the house.  I decided to leave the back as is, and I like it. I love having the flag on the back of the roof!
Several Sapphire boutique buttons were added to the roof along with chunky glitter and lace trim.
I hope have enjoyed my product spotlight today. See below how I have used this product in a few other projects.

Paper Sweeties December Release Rewind - Gift Set

Hi there!

It's the last day of the Paper Sweeties December Inspiration, and the rest of the Design Team as well as myself are bringing you projects that mix some old with the new!

I have a sweet little card and altered legal pad that comes with a matching pen to share today.  These are perfect for teachers, school office staff, neighbors, co-workers, family members....just about anyone. I love making them and the recipient always enjoys getting them.

So here we go!
I took the Paper Sweeties Stand Add-On-5 and I made a little gingerbread house out of it. I added the two sweet Gingers from Ho Ho Ho that was released last month. Tip: Order the Bundles and save. Ho Ho Ho is a set that has coordinating dies. The sentiment and sweet candy canes are from the current December release Have a Holly Jolly Holiday.

Now onto the card:
I used Sweet Cuts for Miss Emma and paper-pieced and colored her new outfit from Have a Holly Jolly Holiday.  I stamped and die-cut the Gingers again from Ho Ho Ho.  I rolled stamped my sentiment to give it an Ombre look and I added three sweet little stamped images from this new released stamp set as well. Little embellishing touches here and there completes the look and you have a sweet little matching set.

I hope you will visit the rest of the Design Team to see what they have created today!

Watch Us Wednesday at The Kraft Journal - Gift Packaging! {2nd Post}

Hey Friends,

This is my second post this morning! For the DeNami Design Product Spotlight, click here. I hope you will come back to see this cute packaging idea. :-)

It's my turn to share a fun little packaging idea at The Kraft Journal today.  This can be accomplished by using some items from The Kraft Outlet as well as items you may have hanging around in your stash!  The Kraft Outlet sells Lunch Bag Kraft CD Pockets that can be altered to make cutie pie packaging for any occasion, but today I am sharing an idea for Christmas. There is always someone to send a little goody to this time of year, and why not make the packaging special?

I started with a Lunch Bag Kraft CD Pocket and added papers to the front just like I would a card.  At the bottom, I trimmed a piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock to stamp some darling Peppermints in red ink along the bottom. I added some pom pom and sequins from my stash for an eye catching touch.  I die-cut a doily from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and added a portion of it to the top of the card.
At the top, I took a length of Natural Twill Tape and wrapped it around the CD Holder and tied in a bow embellishing with Red Baker's Twine, a button, and berries and a leaf from my stash. The front was dressed up with some chenille candy canes, and a jar of Gingerbread Men.  The Jar and the Gingerbread Men were both stamped and cut from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and Buff Ivory Cardstock.  Both the Jar and the candy canes were wrapped with some Natural Hemp Cord.  All that is left is to fill your pocket with goodies to ensure a smile on someone's face!

Be sure to check out the wonderful products at The Kraft Outlet

I am sharing at: Word Art Wednesday - Anything GoesSunday {Fun}day - November Linky Party, The Ribbon Carousel - Holidays and Celebrations,  Just B Creative - Linky Party, Paper Playtime - Anything Goes, Paper Issues - Christmas.

Thank you for visiting me!

DeNami October Pin-spired - Halloween Spools

Hello Sweet Friends,

It's another busy day on the blog, for Paper Sweeties Post Release fall card click here and for my sweet Paper Sweeties snowman card for the 10 minute craft dash click here.)

It's Group 2 of the DeNami Design Team to share a DeNami Pin-spired project with you! I love to make decorations for the home and for others as gifts. When I saw our Pin-spired assignment, I was immediately inspired and knew just what I wanted to do!

Here is what I have to share today based on the photo below:
I started with a couple of spools picked up at a big box craft store, and I used Rit dye to stain my spools. See it's not just for dyeing shirts! :-))) It makes a great color stain!

The fun part is decorating and for this decoration, I used the Small Jack O"Lantern and Black and White Baker's Twine, and DeNami Designs Halloween Buttons
I used the Friendly Mummy on this spool! Look below for the fabulous Inspiration Photo!
I hope you will visit my fellow design team partners in seeing how this photo inspired them.

The Kraft Journal 142 - Discover Something New

Hey y'all!

(It's been a super duper busy weekend on the blog....This is my third post for today please click here for my Paper Sweeties Release Day 2 and for my Craftin' Desert Divas Guest Post Halloween Card click here.)  You will need to scroll a little further for The Ribbon Reel Eerie Elegance Card and a little more for the DeNami Designs Happy Halloween Blog Hop Thank you so much!)

It's Monday and that means a new challenge at The Kraft Journal. For today's Discover Something New challenge, I decided to use a product that is new to me at The Kraft Outlet: The Stretched Burlap 3x3. This product is on sale right now.  This is the perfect time to pick some up!

I am also switching gears from Halloween to Christmas! We like to mix things up a bit here on the ol' blog! :-)))

I used that as my starting point and added white acrylic paint.  I had a vintage Santa image in my stash and added it to a painted C-Flute Corrugated Kraft Paper which has been die-cut and layered upon a die-cut from Half Size Blackboard Stock Paper

I then added some Black Twill Tape around the outside of the burlap frame tied in a bow which was embellished with a glittered button and Black Baker's Twine. The tag was stamped with images from DeNami Design Classic Christmas Set and Christmas Greeting Stamp Set. For a finishing touch, I added touches of glitter to the Santa image, C-Flute Corrugated Kraft Paperand tag.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Discover Something New creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

DeNami Designs October Blog Hop - Happy Halloween

Welcome to the DeNami Design Happy Halloween Blog Hop!
I love to make fun little projects for Halloween, and I am bringing you something different than a card! I also have to apologize for the poor photography. We have had 6 straight days of rain, and it doesn't look like we are getting dry anytime soon. I had plans to photograph this project outside in natural light. I just wish you could see how cute they are in person. Lighting is terrible in my house.
I got my glitter on for today's blog hop! Hopefully you have arrived from the sweet and talented Stacy's blog. If so, you are on the right track. If not, you will want to head over to the DeNami Design blog to start the blog hop at the beginning.
If you are new to the blog hops, today's hop is full of inspiration using DeNami Design Products themed around Halloween!
ALSO, you will want to comment along the way for your chance to win one of the 2 shopping sprees DeNami is giving away
I started with two ordinary spoons and altered them by adding lots of sparkly glitter and embellishments and of course those adorable DeNami stamps.
DeNami Products Used:
Glitz and Glam all the way! :-)
Don't think you have to use your DeNami Stamps on just cards, layouts, or tags! They are adorable enough to charm anything you set your mind to.
Before I send you off to another sweet and talented designer Barb, remember you have
until October 14th, 2013 at 11:59 PST to comment on all the

The Kraft Journal 118 - Recycle or Reuse

For today's "Recycle or Reuse"challenge at The Kraft Journal, I used none other than an empty toilet paper roll to form a little wall hanging or treat sack. I  started by hot glueing the bottom of the tube flat (sort of like the shape of a sour cream container) then I  took pinking sheers and snipped the bottom.

I measured and cut a piece from a Vintage Dictionary Page and wrapped it around the tube and secured with adhesive. I took a length of vintage lace from my stash and wrapped it around the bottom of the flat part of the roll. I had some crepe paper that was leftover from one of the short stack's parties some time ago and made a fringe trim to go in the top.  I created a handle by hot glueing a length of Black Twill Tape on the inside. A final embellishing touch was using a victorian label sticker from my embellishment stash and adding a black die-cut heart to the center.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other gals.  We hope to see your Recycle or Reuse creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am also linking up to Sunday {Fun}day #8 Linky Party!
Have a fantabulous Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Paper Sweeties Day 3 March Release - A Basket Full of Love For You!

Hello~

It's Day 3 of the Paper Sweeties March Release.  All the new stamp sets are available, but the Design Team is sharing some project ideas with the new stamps. We will be back tomorrow for one last wrap up.

I thought I would share a cute little Easter Basket perfect for a neighbor, teacher, or a special friend.  I started with a peat pot and I added some white paint for a shabby look. I took some pastel rainbow ribbon and wrapped it around the center of my pot.
The new release sentiment A Basket Full of LOVE for You was stamped off to the right of a fancy label to allow room for the sweet little bunny.  I created a recipe card to include with my basket which I stamped the basket image from Jelly Bean Time

Hop on over to the other design team gals to see what they came up with for March's new release.   Just click the names below to find further inspiration.
Thank you for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow with one last card for this month's release.

The Kraft Journal - Vintage Dictionary Egg Topiary Tree Tutorial

Hello!

(This is my second post...for my DeNami Designs Product Spotlight Blog Hop Post You can click here.)

It's my turn to do a tutorial for The Kraft Journal, and I thought I would share an Easter Home Decor Project I worked on.

I was motivated by a very large bag of plastic Easter Eggs that I have moved around in the bottom of a closet for several years now. It keeps multiplying each year with every egg hunt my son attends. So I guess you can say this is an upcycle project as well! :-) I love to make Home Decor Projects and I love it even better when I can repurpose something! I am sure you may have these stuck in a closet somewhere too.

Let's Gather Some Supplies!
The items from The Kraft Outlet
Plastic Easter Eggs
Foam Topiary Tree
Hot Glue Gun
Glue Sticks
Royal Coat / Modge Podge Decoupage Finish
Paint Brush or a Foam Brush
Embellishments for your eggs
      (I used)
  • Felt
  • Buttons
  • Paper Flowers
  • Patterned Paper
  • Lace Trim
Moss
Pot for tree

I am going to first apologize that I didn't have someone to help with pictures.

Here is a picture of some of the supplies needed to get started.
* Prior to starting, cut your Vintage Dictionary Pages into strips at various lengths tearing some of the edges.

With a brush, dab on the Decoupage Finish
Start working your Vintage Dictionary Pages into different directions smoothing down with your fingers and adding more Decoupage Finish on top as you go. Just channel your inner pre-school self! :-) This is not a project for those who don't like to get messy!!! Trust me the end result is worth it!!!
Repeat the process till you cover the amount of eggs needed!

Your Vintage Dictionary Page wrapped eggs! Waiting to be embellished!
Now the fun begins, but I used several items to embellish my eggs.  My biggest go to item was the Natural Hemp Cord which I used to make my bows and is so easy to curl.  I created a heart border from Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock.  I used Canvas Fringe Ribbon as trim and Burlap to die-cut hearts.  All items were adhered to the eggs using a hot glue gun.
Waiting to go onto the tree! :-)
Next, I chose to paint my stem of the topiary!
Using your hot glue gun, apply glue to the back of the egg and add to your tree and hold in place for about a minute.
After all of your eggs have been applied, it's time to add some
moss as filler between your eggs. I also did this by using my hot glue gun.
I chose to use different variations of moss for visual interest.
And The finished, Up-cycled Vintage Topiary Egg Tree!
A close-Up!
I hope you will stop by The Kraft Outlet and pick up some supplies to make your own Vintage Topiary Tree!

I am joining in at Sunday{Fun}day #6 - Linky Party
Shabby Creek Cottage - Transformation Thursday

Let me know what you think! I sure did reduce that bag of eggs!
