Happy First Day of School

Happy Monday!

I found a little crafty time with a break from the books to get another card ready for the beginning of school. My little man will have a few cards to give to his teachers.  Hard to believe they will be back in one week. I know many have already started back. I feel like I didn't get much of a summer break and most importantly, I missed being able to do a lot with the short stack this summer.
 I used stamps and dies from My Creative Time. I took a length of Cranberry Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the prepped banner piece and tied in a double bow.  All papers were odds and ends from previous makes, but I can assure you I will have these papers for years to come...I bought this school stack a couple of years ago, and I feel like I have not made a dent in my pile. As my son is getting older, I doubt I will be making many school projects past this year. {Enter very sad face}
Inspiration was found with this weeks Retro Sketches layout.

I hope you have a fabulous week!

Welcome Back

Don't fall off your chair if you happen to stumble upon a post by me. It is true, it really is me... After a long long lag in blogging, I have something to share today. (If anyone will read this post)

I am halfway through my schooling and spent the first part of summer preparing for State Boards for my first course. I have taken and passed, and now I am moving on to the second phase of school. It's intense and leaves for little time for anything else past family. So I apologize that I have not left love on all your lovely work lately.

My kiddo will be starting school soon, so I took a much needed brain break and got creative. Something simple, but it did feel good to get inky again.

Have a look!
I used a combination of stamps. Mint Motif's School Basics (A retired set and company) was used to make the handwriting background, and the apple is from that set as well. I used a Back to School set by My Creative Time. I made the entire card with scraps from previous makes.  I am pretty sure I will have this school themed paper to make projects for my great grand-kids. It is never ending:)  I took a length of awesome Cherry Latte Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a double bow. The absolute best twine EVAH! :)

Motivation was inspired with this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!

I am also joining Jo's Scrap Shack - Recycled Scraps.

I am off to class with a commute ahead of me this morning. Thank you for stopping by...

Have a Marvelous Monday!

Look who Turned 5

Good Morning!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter!

Long time no hear, and the longer the stretches go, the rustier I get...at creating, remembering how to write a blog post, just about everything...ha!

I'm still very much involved in school with late night studying and back at it the next day. My sons sporting events are my only breaks. I am getting behind in birthdays, and this is for a little fellow dear to my heart back home in Florida! His package is going out really late, but luckily they understand why. :)

I turned the card slightly when I shot the picture, but now it just looks like it's crooked.

I used leftovers of some sort for just about everything you see.

I used Boys will be Boys Cricut Cartridge for the Helicopter. I have these chipboard numbers in my stash that I have been using up what seems like forever, but they are cute and fun.
I used some amazing Limeade Trendy Twine at the top for some added texture. Always makes for a nice addition to any card!

I am going to share over at Jo's Scrap Schack - Fun Friday Challenge - Anything Goes and Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes.

Well, that's it...sorry for the silence...I am off to class this morning, but first comes an hour and half commute. :(

Have a wonderful week!

9th Birthday Wishes

Hey There!

Don't fall over that you are seeing a post. I am not even sure if anyone is even going to stop by and see this ha!

I know it's been quiet, and honestly I have not stepped foot in my my craftroom since December. The projects you have seen as of late were created then and scheduled ahead.

I am in an intense accelerated program, and I have a commute in traffic each day. It leaves very little time for even my family, so you understand why it's been quiet around here.

We had a snow day yesterday. I took a break from studying to make a card for my best friend's little girl. I needed a brain break. It felt so weird crafting again and trying to find my mojo again. Hands down I miss it!
I just used bits and pieces and this is what I came up with.  My starting point was the 9 and I just built the card around that.
So if you're still with me reading, I appreciate it, and I appreciate you stopping by! I am sorry I have not been around to leave comments. We can't have our phones in class, so on breaks I do try and scroll through and catch some of your work. :-)))

Trendy Twine - Happy Valentine's Day Valentine's Day Skinny Candy Bags

Good Morning!

I am over on the Trendy Twine blog today! I made some Valentine Treats featuring Krafy Red Trendy Twine and Skinny Candy Bags.  My son handed these to his crossing guards. They really love getting these treats and appreciate them too.

I filled the bags with some M & M's. I created a layered tag and die-cut a heart in the center. I just went back and forth with the Krafy Red Trendy Twine behind the heart window.  It really does look amazing and makes your tags and treats extra special.
I stamped a Valentine greeting in the lower right corner and added a few sequins for a touch of glam. I punched a hole through the bag to attach it to the top using more Krafy Red Trendy Twine and tied off in a bow.
Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Trendy Twine - Valentine Treat

Hello There!

Today I have a Valentine Treat I am sharing on the Trendy Twine Blog using Krafty Red Trendy Twine and Metal Rim Kraft Tags.
I created this using half an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock which I layered a piece of designer paper over then I created a pouch. I used a heart die-cut to create a window for my goodies to peek though. I outlined the heart with Krafty Red Trendy Twine.
I had a scrap of corrugated cardboard that I used on the right side which gave some visual texture. Next I wrapped a length of red grosgrain ribbon around and tied off in a bow embellishing with a double bow of Krafty Red Trendy Twine.  I attached a Metal Rim Kraft Tag with a stamped image (PTI) to the center of the bow using a button and Krafty Red Trendy Twine. A white paper rose finished it off quite nicely.
Hope you have enjoyed this little treat!

Trendy Twine- Bee Mine Mason Jar Treats

Hello everyone!

I hope you are warm where you are at. We are in the middle of a blizzard this weekend. The snow just keeps coming. It's been many years since I have had to deal with this much snow. It's pretty to look at from the inside, but it all has to get removed and go somewhere. That means shoveling and getting out in it. I can't even open my front door at the moment. Ugh! Anyway, I am on the Trendy Twine Blog today with a project.

I am happy to share with you a little gift I put together for my son to give to his teachers that incorporates some Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.
I love decorating and gift giving anything in a jar. They are so fun and easy to decorate. I spray painted the top and set to dry. Once dry, I then hit it with some spray adhesive and added some chunky glitter.
This gives a slightly better view of the top. I just die-cut a circle from hot-pink patterned paper and die-cut a lighter pink heart to cover the jar seal.
At the top of the jar, I added some light pink crochet lace trim which I topped with the yummy Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine tying in a bow embellishing with a baby pink paper rose. I simply adhered a die-cut layer to the center of my jar after I stamped my images and sentiment using the Paper Smooches Bee Mine set. Before I adhered the layers, I trimmed my circle with Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine adding a bow to the top for a further embellishing touch.

Trendy Twine Valentine Box

Hello everyone~

I have a Valentine Treat Box to share with you today as it's my day to post on the Trendy Twine Blog. As you have seen already, we are featuring Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine. I started by decorating a 3 x 3 Kraft box that can also be found at Annie's Paper Boutique. you receive 10 boxes in a package and they are flat. I decorate mine flat and then assemble!

I also used the images from the new Valentine's Day Printable in the store as well. The pink graph with hearts you see below come on that sheet, and I just cut it down to size. I also die-cut the circle with heart out and added to the center. I die-cut a pink arrow layered on top. Next I die-cut a heart from bright pink felt added to the center embellishing with a white button laced with Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.
I also trimmed the front of the box with Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine as well!

I fussy cut the red xo heart also from the Valentine's Day printable and added to the center of the pink-polka dotted patterned paper.

You will also find this cute Happy Valentine's Day banner on there as well. A little further embellishing with a sweet Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine bow never hurt. :)
Makes for a sweet little gift for your Valentine, neighbor, co-worker, teachers, crossing guards...the list goes on~

Trendy Twine - Mittens in Winter

Good 1st Sunday to you in this new year!

I am on the Trendy Twine blog today and we are featuring Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.  You will probably see a lot of pink being featured this month! :-)

I started this card by piecing together a few pink and white patterned papers I had in my paper stash and adding to the pink card front.

I then wrapped a length of bright pink crinkle seam binding around the vertical center of the patterned papers and tied it in a fussy bow at the top of the card and embellished it with a big pink button laced and looped with a Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine bow.

The striped frame was stamped in white snow ink, on pink cardstock added to the center o the card front.  I filled the frame with some die-cut mittens which I tied together in a shape of a heart using Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.  The sweet sentiment was added to the bottom of the card.

Thanks for peeking in!
