The Kraft Journal #165 Inside and Out Teacher Gift

Good Monday Morning to you!

We have an Inside and Out Challenge this week at The Kraft Journal, and I decided to make a 3D gift card box with easel card for Teacher Appreciation Week.  I can't believe that will be in just a little over a month.

I started by purchasing a file from the silhouette online store. I used a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock  that can be found at The Kraft Outlet.  I covered the drawer and easel card as indicated. The Patterned Papers are some I have had in my stash for awhile. I used Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock on the scallop rectangle on the easel card and I supported it by a red brad. I created a banner at the top of the card and I used some Red Baker's Twine to hold it in place. A sentiment from Paper Sweeties So Proud of You was stamped and cut from Buff Ivory Cardstock and then matted on red cardstock.  I created shreds for confetti in the drawer using more Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock.  After I put together the box, I wrapped a little wraphia ribbon around it and tied a bow on top.

Here it is closed:
You just lay the easel flat, and open the box and place inside.

I sure hope you will be inspired to play along with us.  We hope to see your Inside Out creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I thought I would share at: Pause Dream Enjoy - Twine It Up, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes,  Sunday {Fun}day - March Linky PartyD.L. Art - March Linky Challenge, Craftin' Desert Divas - Anything Goes

Happy Stamping and Crafting!

Dino-Mite

Hi!

I have a little card to share designed by my son "sort of" :-). He wanted a dinosaur card and had certain colors he had in mind. He had a certain "idea" he had in mind as well, and I sort of failed in with area. (Enter sad face). I am new to the silhouette and he wanted a palm tree, and I had one, but I never could figure out how to resize it because the one I purchased is HUGE when it's cut out. Anywho, he got the dinosaur at least. He was much bigger than I wanted. I can't figure out how to resize because all the parts have to resize together. I just didn't have the time to spend on it. So you cameo smart people want to shoot me an email go ahead! :-)))  He picked out the papers in the colors he wanted and I had to be creative trying my best to make it work (enter silly funny face) Let's just say I think I spent more time on this then I do on my shabby frilly layered cards. I'm learning girls....anywho...he loved it, so heres to hoping the friend loves it.  It's just always a bummer when you have something really cute you WANTED to do and you can't figure it out.

Ok, that was a long intro sorry....
I used various circle dies and one embossing folder to add a bit of texture to add some interest to the background. I love the tangerine graph paper that was part of this mango stack from DCWV.

Just a fun little card that hopefully made you smile on this Thursday! I thought I would share at Creative Cutting Challenges - Anything Goes, Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons- Just For Kids (PPPR File), Pause Dream Enjoy - Twine It Up, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Just Be Creative - March Linky Party, Sunday {Fun}day - March Linky PartyD.L. Art - March Linky Challenge

DeNami Product Spotlight Blog Hop - Cross and Vines

Welcome to the  DeNami Design Product Spotlight.  Today we are having a product blog hop, and that means that the stamp we are spotlighting today will be given away to one lucky commenter. The winner will be picked at random among one of the DeNami Design Team blogs. We are all sharing the Cross and Vines. I think it is so beautiful. There is also a 10% savings for one week only if you purchase this stamp. If you should win the stamp, DeNami will refund you the purchase price.

I created a card today and I did something I don't normally do which is use solid cardstock only...no patterned paper.
I heat embossed the Cross and Vines and added the Leafy Vine to the bottom to compliment the cross image beautifully. How gorgeous is the Rejoice sentiment?
Finishing touches include adding some DeNami Boutique Buttons and sequins.
Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to check out the rest of the DeNami Design Team for your chance to win
the Cross and Vines Stamp.

The Kraft Journal #164 - Color Challenge Hoppy Easter

Hi Friends!

Wow! Here we are at another start to a new week!

For this week's "Color Challenge" at The Kraft Journal, I saw the colors and thought spring which made me think of Easter. :-)))
I started by adding a distressed piece of green polka-dotted paper to a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. In one of my many scrap piles, I had a piece of patterned paper that had most of the colors in the inspiration photo you can find below.  I distressed the edges before adding it to my card front.  Next I added a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon to the front embellished with a button and a bow from Pink Baker's Twine
I created a tag using Buff Ivory Cardstock and stamped a sentiment from Paper Sweeties Jelly Bean Time in a ray pattern using multiple inks adding a die-cut easter egg adorned with pink hearts. I added Pink Baker's Twine to the top before anchoring it down with foam adhesive.  I felt this card needed a  little something else, so I took a length of Cameo Beige Bias Tape and created a fluffy bow embellished with a pink button and more Pink Baker's Twine.  Finishing touches include adding a small pennant made from Buff Ivory Cardstock and pink heart to the upper right corner.

Here is the color inspiration photo:

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your color challenge creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Monkey Business

Hi!

Last week, I shared a card over on the DeNami Designs Blog, and I thought I would share it with you today in case you missed it.
I used four DeNami stamps, the single monkeythe Bunch of BananasLeafy Vine, and Happy Birthday from the Thoughtful Greeting Set. I have had this cute paper in my stash forever, so I am so happy to have a cute stamp to coordinate it with. I added a length of wool ribbon around the card and tied the ends off with a Sand Boutique Button, and Emerald Twine.

It's a fun little card to have on hand for a fun little dude or dudette. I never have enough children's cards on hand.

I am sharing at: Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Just Be Creative - March Linky Party, Sunday {Fun}day - March Linky Party, D.L. Art - March Linky Challenge.

Celebrate Your Day - 3rd Birthday Train Card

Hi Friends,

I needed a card for a very special little guy...he loves trains, planes, automobiles...pretty much anything that moves. It gave me the opportunity to pull out my train die I used often when my little short stack was living, thinking, and breathing trains. Lots of memories flooded back as I created this card. Made me smile!

Well, I know you aren't here for my walk down memory lane! :-)))

Here you go!
The dies are from Quickutz and I believe are retired. I was just thinking about putting these up for sale, but I am glad I still had them.  I first die-cut chipboard from an old cracker box, and then die-cut the cardstock and layered them for dimension and stability.
I used a stitched label from My Creative Time as well as their stitched stars.   The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties So Sweet of You.

Inspiration for this card was found at Seize the Birthday - Stitching, Just Be Creative - March Linky Party, Sunday {Fun}day - March Linky Party, D.L. Art - March Linky Challenge, The Shabby Tea Room - Anything Goes.

I hope you have a colorful Tuesday!

The Kraft Journal - #163 Tags

Happy Monday! I know it's St. Patrick's Day, but I don't have anything green to share today! :-)) As Mother Nature would have it, we are under a winter advisory and we have another snow day. It is beautiful though!

For this week's "tag " challenge at The Kraft Journal, I decided to use the "tag" part as an interactive piece on the front of the card. I started by adding patterned pieces to the front of the Kraft Brown Cover Weight Cardstock.   I then took a small glassine bag and stamped the front of it using a Teeny Heart Background stamp from DeNami Design in pink ink to create a pocket for the decorated Brown Kraft Hang Tag.  The Thankful for You sentiment is also from DeNami Design.

For a decorative touch I added pieces of Notebook Grid decorative tape to the outside of the bag. I further embellished the stamped glassine bag by adding buttons laced with Pink Baker's Twine and die-cut felt flowers adding a custom fastener and a snippet of lace to the center. Lastly, I wrapped a length of Pink Baker's Twine to the top portion of the card. The Notebook Grid comes with a piece of twine, and I re-purposed it for my tag you see above.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your tag creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am going to share at: Just Be Creative - March Linky Party, Sunday {Fun}day - March Linky Party, D.L. Art - March Linky Challenge.

I posted this St. Patrick's Day card on Saturday, and Jill at Every Day is an Occasion featured that card on  her blog yesterday. You can see the feature here.  I am honored!

Have a wonderful week!

Paper Sweeties March Release Rewind

Hey Friends,

Did you fill your shopping cart up with the new release and other fabulous goodies from Paper Sweeties Shop?  Remember there is a new rewards program! Today we have a little more inspiration for you!  We are having our monthly release rewind where the design team incorporates the new and previously released products together!

After three days of Easter Treats, today I have a card to share using:
Bunny Hugs and Kisses
Wagon Add-on: bloom & grow
I started by cutting out the bunny outfit and adding fluff to the white part (ugh sure wish you could see it), and then coloring the centers of the ears and belly pink finishing off with pink glitter. I cut and colored Jake and gave him a basket to hold from the new Bunny Hugs and Kisses set.
The bunny cut from Kraft cardstock is from the previously released set Hippty Hoppity.  I added a row of carrots to create a border from the new release Wagon Add-on: bloom & grow.
Final touches include adding Sequins, buttons, and a sentiment from Bunny Hugs and Kisses.

We have a blog hop list so you can see what the team has created for our March Release Rewind!

Wishing you the luckiest...

Good Saturday Morning to you!

{So honored that Jill at Every Day is An Occasion featured this card. You can read it here}

I have a St. Patrick's Day card to share with you today. I just didn't get a chance to make and send St. Patrick's Day cards this year. I know not many send cards for this occasion, but I always try to. Since my recovery, I have been playing catch up on other things and design team assignments. I am still going to PT and I usually don't feel so crafty or great after that workout. :-( This number I am sharing today won't get mailed, but will be hand-delivered, so here is my last minute throw together!

I seriously just dug through my snippet/scrap pile which is ridiculous because I refuse to throw out a single piece since I can always use the smallest paper for anything. Case in point, the buckle on the hat. I try and use up my scraps first  if I can for most of my projects before cutting into something new which in the end does nothing but make more left-over scraps! :-)))
I used a brand new set that was just released from My Creative Time: I'm a Lucky Girl Stamp Set and Coordinating dies.

Inspiration for this card was found at ColourQ
I am going to share additionally at: Just Be Creative - March Linky Party, Sunday {Fun}day - March Linky Party, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, D.L. Art - March Linky Challenge, Die-cuttin Divas - Luck of the Irish.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend. I will be back tomorrow with another post for Paper Sweeties.
Happy Crafting!

Paper Sweeties March Release Day!

Hi There! So what do you think of all the Paper Sweeties Sneak Peeks over the last couple of days?  It sure is fun to be thinking about "spring" I've had a ball creating several Easter Treats with the new release, and I have another round of treats to share today.

There is always someone to thank and remember. We always take a little something to the administrative staff at my son's school. Here are a few that he will be sharing. They are the backbone of the school. Oh, don't forget those crossing guards and bus drivers too. How about a neighbor?  There is always room to brighten someone's day with a little something made from the heart!

I started by cutting a paper sack using a file from the Silhouette store. I used Paper Sweeties newly released: Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes (Sentiment) and the Wagon Add-on: bloom & grow (eggs) and sequins for the centers of the flowers.
These treats are perfect to stash a gift card or your favorite sweet treat.

Debbie has added a new {Frequent Shopper Reward} feature at Paper Sweeties.
You can find the details here

I'm happy you could visit with me today. Please join my teammates for the Paper Sweeties release blog hop!

Paper Sweeties March Sneak Peek Day 2

Good Morning!

It's time to show off some more of the Paper Sweeties March Release. The set that I am working with today is using a sentiment from the Wagon Add-on: bloom & grow and will be available in the Paper Sweeties Store tomorrow.

I am carrying on with making more easter treat projects to share. I decorated some mason jars to give as gifts. The contents are Bunny Brownies. The jar is filled with peeps among other ingredients to make the brownies, so I thought this sentiment was PERFECT! Too cute.

I used some sequins from the Paper Sweeties store to dress up the label a bit.

Well that's all for me today! Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for some more from this new release. Before you go, check out what the other DT gals put together with stamps from this release.
