Create:Follow Your Heart {TKJ}

Hello~

This week at The Kraft Journal it's CAS-Inspiration.  I think I found the perfect Inspirational sentiment in my collection of stamps, but might not have done the best job at keeping my card CAS.
I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock onto which I layered a piece of red cardstock to frame the two pieced pattern papers. In the center I took a length of crochet trim from my stash and placed where the two papers meet. Next I took a length of Black Twill Tape and wrapped it around the card front just above the lace trim.  To the right, and above the trim, I added an inspirational sentiment (Hero Arts CL156) in black ink.  I stamped a flower (Hero Arts CL374) onto blue paper and fussy cut it out followed by doing the same for the leaves only using green paper and then popped it up on the left side of the card using foam adhesive. I added a die-cut border to the bottom of the card. Lastly for a decorative touch, a few sequins were added to the upper left corner.
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your CAS - Inspiration creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Have a great week!

Trendy Twine - Sweet of You

Good Day to you!

I am so glad you stopped by to visit with me today. I have a card to share with you that I am also sharing on the Trendy Twine Blog as well using some fabulous Nautical Trendy Twine...a few more days to still get this awesome twine on sale.

I started this card by using a Kraft Brown card base onto which I layered designer paper. To soften things, I added a paper doily. I took a length of seam binding ribbon and wrapped it around the center of the card face and tied in a bow. I embellished further with a button and a double bow of Nautical Trendy Twine.

I then took a length of Nautical Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the card front several times for added visual interest. Lastly, I stamped a mason jar which I shaded with copic markers. I stamped and added a label for the greeting adding a set of cute blueberries which I added a touch of glitter to.
Nautical Trendy Twine - Navy Blue, White, & Yellow Bakers Twine
This sums it up for me today. I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Celebrate - anything but a card {TKJ}

Hello~

The Kraft Journal's new challenge this week is Anything Goes - No Cards. I decorated a Kraft Outlet White Coffee Bag .  I started by taking a piece of Lunch Bag Kraft Text Paper and cutting out a banner which I embossed with a decorative folder followed by inking up the edges with distressed ink.

I then took a Grungy Prim Shipping Tag and stamped a Celebrate sentiment (Paper Smooches) down the side in black ink. Next I anchored it with a piece of Decorative Washi Tape.  I added a circle border across the top. Lastly, I wrapped a length of  Brown Baker's Twine around the topped and tied in a bow.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Anything Goes - No Card creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Surfing by to say hi!

How are you on this summer day?

We have one of my favorite challenges at The Kraft Journal this week. Take Your Pick!  I love all things summer, so this was such a fun card to put together. I do miss the beach and living near it. I love nothing more than having my toes in the sand.
I used, Orange, Aqua, shell, sentiment, and Beach (vibe) from the list below. I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cardstock onto which I layered a beachy nautical patterned paper. (K & Company) At the bottom of the paper, I added a scallop border made from Only Orange cardstock. A length of Vintage Winter White Bias Tape was wrapped around the card front and tied off in a fussy bow embellishing with an orange button laced with Orange Baker's Twine.  A shell stick pin was added for a further embellishing touch. I cut a stitched journaling card from Brown Kraft Cardstock to serve as mat for her die-cut images and sentiment. The stamp and die-set used here are from My Creative Time Surf's Up.
 Here is the Take Your Pick for this week's challenge.

Happy Summer! Did everyone have a nice 4th of July?

I have a card for you today that is perfect for the current "Summer" challenge at The Kraft Journal. I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cardstock onto which I layered patterned papers light and airy perfect for a summer card. At the bottom of the patterned papers I added a scallop border from green cardstock.

I then took a length of White Twill Tape which I embellished with a pink button and tied off using Pink Baker's Twine.  Next I added a vintage card from the Ephemera Thrift Shop Pack which I followed by adding a die-cut stitched circle cut from patterned paper (My Creative Time) and placed just off the side of the vintage card.  I added a pair of die-cut flip flops (My Creative Time) next adding a small rhinestone to the straps. Lastly, I added my sentiment from My Creative Time Sit Back & Relax in the lower right corner. I followed by placing a few sequins for an extra embellishing touch.
