Baseball Player Birthday Card {Day 3}

Hey again,

{I'm honored that this card was chosen as "Take The Cake" Winner on 11/5/15 at Seize the Birthday}

My blog doesn't know what to do with postings everyday this week, and I will have one tomorrow too!

I am back with Day 3 of baseball cards as I work on getting these ready for my son to give his teammates. Again, I worked with scraps and stuck to the travel team colors as you have seen over the last few days. :)
I started with a Navy Blue card base onto which I added a layer of Brown Kraft Cardstock. I took some patterned paper scraps and pieced them together to layer on top of the kraft. I added a felt border trim I had in my ribbon stash.
I die-cut, stamped and embossed the pockets from Wplus9 -A Pocketful of.  Next was the fun part adding the baseball elements.  You have seen these incorporated the last few days and they are from PTI. The sentiment which I built and stamped on a tag are from Wplus9 -A Pocketful of.
I am honestly getting my money's worth out of my baseball stamps. Please share if you know another company with cute baseball or a sports theme. I know I will be making baseball cards for years to come.

I found inspiration at Seize the Birthday - A Pocket Card. (Toppings)

I am also joining one last time at Pink and Main - Birthday.
Thank you again for visiting. I will give you a break tomorrow from baseball cards! :)
Have a Fantastic Friday!

Baseball Player Birthday Card {Day 2}

Hello~

{Happy and Honored to have this card selected as a Design Team Pick at Can You Case It on 10/31/15

Yesterday I shared a baseball birthday card, and I am back with another today. My son has three teammates who are having birthdays soon (and my son will also be in that mix in a couple of weeks), so I am trying to crank out a few to have ready. My poor boy usually gets left out of the mix because his Mama runs out of time to make a card for him. I am going to make an effort this year to make him one. Although, I think last year I was successful! :-)
I started with a Brown Kraft Coverweight card base. I cut a scallop frame using my Silhouette Cameo from textured Navy cardstock. The baseball is also a file from the Silhouette Store.  I die-cut and stamped the bats and crossed them in the center of the scalloped Square adding the baseball to the center.
I stamped the sentiment on a banner that was die-cut and added it to the lower left  of the card. It came together pretty fast! I stuck to the colors again of my son's travel team.

I used the sketch at Can You Case It for inspiration. I took some slight creative liberties! :-))))

Baseball Player Birthday

Hi!

Some of you who follow me know that I have a ball player in the house.  So that means I have a lot of baseball cards to make on various occasions either as Thank-You's or Birthday cards.

I took advantage of using some scrapss and much loved stamps and dies to put this together along with the help of The Papers Players sketch.
That background paper has a velvet texture. The Helmet, bat, and ball are from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is one found at Jaded Blossoms. I stuck to my son's team colors which are Navy and Columbia Blue. When it comes to boys, I don't usually get too fancy. They are not interested in the card so much. I think only my guy is because he has grown up with this.  :)

Here is the sketch!
I am also joining the fun over at Pink and Main - Birthday Theme.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out this baseball birthday card for the Short Stack's friend.

Have a great day!

Have a Happy Halloween Gift

Hello Friends,

Some of the Trendy Twine Gals did a little gift exchange for Halloween! Here is what I created for one of my DT Sisters, Millie.
I made a homemade Candy Corn Sugar Scrub with all natural ingredients. I just added food coloring to get the candy corn colors and stacked it in this cute little jar which I decorated of course with some amazing Halloween Orange Licorice Trendy Twine!

Shows top of the jar
For the card, I started with a white card base and added a few layers of patterned papers perfect for Halloween. I added some black lace trim at the bottom where the papers ended. I also took more of the Halloween Orange Licorice Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the card front several times for additional visual interest and texture.  At the top, I  took a length of some fancy black ribbon and created a ribbon treatment which I embellished further with orange seam binding, a button, and another layered bow made from Halloween Orange Licorice Trendy Twine.
I stamped my focal image which was a jar full of candy corn (to compliment my gift):) I added a tiny tag with a greeting to the jar A little something for you! I then die-cut the word Halloween from orange cardstock and placed at the bottom right of the card. Next I stamped, Have a Happy in black ink just left and above the Halloween. All that was left, was to round the corners at the bottom.

I did add some other goodies to the box for an additional treat. (not handmade, so I figured you wouldn't care to see!)

I hope you enjoyed this little Halloween Treat as much as I enjoyed making it.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting me today!

Supplies were various stamps in my collection: Greeting/Sentiment: My Creative Time, Jar: My Craft Spot (no longer available), Candy Corn: DeNami Design.

TKJ - Happy Thanksgiving

Good Day!

We have a Thanksgiving challenge at The Kraft Journal this week. It's a good challenge to jump start those greeting cards and projects for the occasion.

I began my card using Buff Ivory Cardstock onto which I layered a stamped woodgrain panel made from Brown Kraft Cardstock. I added a panel of patterned paper to center adding a scallop border to the top and bottom of that decorative paper. I die-cut a circle tag from Brown Kraft Cardstock and stamped the Cornucopia image and Happy Thanksgiving greeting  (both DeNami Design) to the center coloring in with copic markers. A button laced with Earthy Hemp Cord anchored a brown grosgrain ribbon to the top of the tag.
Lastly, I added a sunflower and fall leaves to the bottom part of the tag to complete this Thanksgiving Greeting.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Thanksgiving creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Have a great week!

Hello Fall with the New APB Stamps

Hi Everyone!

I am over on the Trendy Twine Blog today, and I am super duper excited to share with you the NEW Annie's Paper Boutique Planner stamp set called Hello Fall!!!

As you see from my card below, they can be used for more things than planners. I plan on giving this set a lot of use this fall.  I love to make treats for the holidays, and I know I will be incorporating this set in my fall treat packaging.
I stamped the four images that come in the set onto white cardstock and colored in using copics.  I also used the images to create my own patterned paper by stamping the images with a watermark ink onto kraft cardstock. I took a length of Thanksgiving Orange Truffle and wrapped it around several times to add visual interest and texture.
I added more Thanksgiving Orange Truffle by creating a double bow which I added to the ribbon treatment at the top of my circular tag. I used a trinket pin to hang my Give Thanks sentiment. Lastly, I added my die-cut pumpkin and flower embellishments to complete my card.

TKJ - Scarecrow

Hello~

This week we have a new challenge at The Kraft Journal this week - Scarecrow. I had the perfect image in my fall stash.
I began this card with a base of Brown Kraft Cardstock onto which I pieced together some fall papers I had leftover in my scrap box. I took a length of crochet trim and added that to the top of the papers. I stamped Happy in brown ink to the upper left corner. I took a length of Ivory Bias Tape vertically around the right side of the card front tying off in a bow embellishing with a fall leaf button laced with Hemp Cord which was also used to attached the Round Metal Edge Grungy Tag which I stamped Fall.  Using Brown Kraft Cardstock, I die-cut a scallop rectangle (with a Spellbinders die) to frame the scarecrow image and added to the card for completion.
 Other products used
Stamps: PTI Wreath for all seasons
Crochet Trim: AC Moore
Button: Ben Franklin

Trendy Twine - Have a Wicked Halloween

Hello Friends!

Hope you are having a wonderful day this fall morning! I am over on the Trendy Twine blog sharing a project with one of the featured twines this month.

Let me get started...I have created a cute little treat set.
I made a scalloped circle card and layered by nesting some circles inside using the coordinating spiderweb Halloween paper as seen on the Mini Coffee Cup.  I trimmed the top circle layer with Halloween Orange Licorice Trendy Twine.  I die-cut a witch hat and legs and added to the front...stamping a cute sentiment to complete the card.
For the darling Mini Coffee Cup, I started with some fun spiderweb Halloween paper, circle dies and a cute Halloween Candy Embellishment which I layered and added to the front of the cup.   I took Halloween Orange Licorice and wrapped it around the top of the lid three times and tied in a triple bow.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:
Orange Licorice Trendy Twine
 Other Products Used
Wicked Fun Dies - My Creative Time
Bunch of Fun Circle Dies - My Creative Time
Trick or Treat sentiment - DeNami Design

Treacherous Treats

Happy Friday!

{Happy and Honored to have this card selected as a Design Team Pick at Can You Case It on 10/17/15}

As my blog has been pretty quiet for quite sometime, life continues to roll along and I find less and less time in my crafting space, but I managed to get in there to make another Halloween card. This year, I don't have the stock to pull from to mail cards as I have in years past.

Being in a time crunch, I neglected to get the twine out of the way of my tag when I photographed, so please forgive. :-) I also didn't fluff up my bow. Didn't notice till I sat down to write the blog.
This card I used ALL leftover pieces with the exception of the Halloween Orange Licorice Trendy Twine.  That candy corn grosgrain ribbon I have had for years, and that was the very last piece that barely fit across the center of my card. I never throw anything away. Eventually it finds a home. :-))) I have a ribbon toss pile that I put all my left over pieces, so I will sometimes just rummage through till I find what I want and give a final home to some leftovers.

The Kraft Journal - Take Your Pick - Halloween

Good Monday Morning to you!

Our challenge this week at The Kraft Journal is Take Your Pick where you get to pick at least three items from the chart below. This week I choose: Baker's Twine, Die-Cut, Pumpkin, Glitter, Buttons, Stamped, Black. I lacked the tag or I would have incorporated all the choices.
I began my card with a card base made from Blackboard Stock Paper.  I layered a piece of Orange and Black patterned paper adding to that a layer cut from Vintage Dictionary Pages. In my stash, I had a Halloween Journal card which I placed over the Vintage Dictionary Page.  Using a scrap of Blackboard Stock Paper, I die-cut a star adding to the center. I then stamped a Jack-O-Lantern and dotted circle border image to the center of a circle die-cut made from Buff Ivory Cardstock which I framed with a scallop circle created from orange cardstock. I added some iridescent glitter to the Jack-O-Lantern image.  (which disappointingly is not showing up well here)
After I was done giving Mr. Jack a touch of glitz, I added the prepped focal image to the center of the black die-cut star. I stamped Halloween on a banner created from Buff Ivory Cardstock and used an Orange Wooden Clothespin to hold it in place. Next I had some fun with Orange Baker's Twine by adding a tiny double bow to the top of the focal image as well as playfully adding it to the right side of the card front.  Lastly, I added three black buttons to the bottom portion of the card.

Other Products Used
Stamps: DeNami Design
Buttons: Hobby Lobby
Patterned Paper: Reflections (no longer available)

Here is the Take Your Pick choices for this week's challenge.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Take Your Pick creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

TKJ#244 Halloween

Good Monday to you!

This week at The Kraft Journal we have a Halloween or Harvest Festival Challenge for you to join in. I went with Halloween this week. I always enjoy creating Halloween cards and projects to share.
I started with a card base of Buff Ivory Cardstock onto which I added Halloween themed patterned papers rounding the top right corner. I die-cut some stars from Blackboard Stock Paper adding a vintage image from the Seasonal Salvage Stickers. This is also where the "Spooky" sentiment image came from as well. Where the papers met, I took a length of Orange Baker's twine and added along the card front.
Next I created a fussy bow from Hand Stained Bias Tape which I spritzed with some Glimmer Mist to achieve the color needed for this card. I embellished it with a prima black flower adding a brad from my stash to the center.  Lastly, I added a length of ivory crochet trim to the bottom of the card for a finishing touch.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Halloween - Harvest Festival creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.
