Flutter By for Hugs and Smiles

The Challenge at the Flutter by Wednesday Blog is an open one so anything goes as long as it has a butterfly, fairy or angel on it, so that makes it fun and easy! I am also incorporating this for my second card for Kim's Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge using White, Tangerine, and Teal.

My sentiment says Hugs and Smiles by Gina K Designs!
Thanks for looking!

Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge #15

This week's challenge at Off The Wall Craftiness, Kim has asked us to use the following cool color combinations and her inspiration photo is beautiful! The Colors are Teal, White, and Tangerine.

The sponsor this week is Practicing Creativity and I just love love love every release that Courtney has produced! I do not currently own any of her stamp sets YET, but I do have an account already filled out with a "wish list" Yes, I kid you not there is an option for a wish list, and it has all been checked....ha~, so I am REALLY hoping to be a winner this week. {wink} Aren't we all!!!

I still had Stampin' UP!'s Tangerine Tango from last summer, but it's pretty bright, but it's the only "Tangerine" Card Stock I had, and I needed that color for my base to complete the design I wanted. I added clear dew drops in the tree branches and I stamped Thinking of You in Tangerine Tango for my sentiment.

Thanks Kim and Courtney for sponsoring this week's Challenge! Good luck everyone!
Have a great weekend!

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge **Invitations**

It's time for another Embellish Magazine Challenge sponsored by Unity Stamps. The theme was invitations and the colors we were to use were Green, Deep Red, Gold/Kraft.  So, I went "outside the box" and made an invitation with the colors they provided.  I wanted to use this new pattern paper by My Minds Eye part of the Lush Hip & Luxurious Collection and it is indeed. It's Velvet! {**Sigh**}

I was going to put some gold or green in the middle, but I just loved this velvety goodness too much.  The card is so much prettier in person as well as this gorgeous bow. It is gold with beautiful rose buds on it. It's just divine and elegant like this card and for a finishing touch I had to add some deep red rhinestones which are also part of the Lush collection by My Minds Eye.

Whatever you may be doing in your corner of the world I hope it's going great for you!
Smiles!

EBTKS #18 Aluminum Foil

Aloha all!

Whew, I just made it in time with little foil to spare! Seriously, I have a sliver left till I can get to the store. It's a good thing I have down sized a husband for awhile and I am not fixing big meals right now!!! {wink}
My project didn't call for a lot of foil, just trial and error...come on you all know what I am talking about who did this project {grins}!!! After thinking over some ideas, I finally figured how how I wanted to use the foil, and then designing it didn't take me as long as trying to photograph the little number. I promise it's way cuter than I am able to do it justice!

The sponsor for this Challenge is WPlus9 and I just love Dawn's stamps. I incorporated one of her new lines with Celebrate from Mehndi Medallions. If you get a chance check it out.

As we say here in Hawaii, it's Aloha Friday no work till Monday!

Practicing Creativity Sketch Challenge

Wow do I love the new release from Courtney's new line at Practicing Creativity. Although I have just recently discovered her line of stamps I instantly {hearted} them. I already have a wish list which includes ummmm every stamp set she has released , but my very favorite, I almost can’t stand it , is her most recent release “My Beach House” because it fits perfectly well with my lifestyle.  I think I love the coral the best.

Courtney and her design team came up with sketches, and you could pick one and upload your take on project and  the winner gets a $50 credit to the Practicing Creativity Store.  I was having fun while at my little crafting corner and decided to do three of the sketches. You can never have too many cards! J

Here is my take!

Have a great day!

Wee Memories Challenge #13, Free For All

Jenny's challenge at Wee Memories was a Free for all, so we could do what we like.

It really was nice for me because I needed to make some thank you notes for my son as he received a box full of Toy Story gifts from my best friend in Florida and her little girl over the weekend. My son loves Toy Story so he was in Heaven! The other card is for his grandparents who have been great about sending him books. My son loves to check the mailbox to see if he has mail with his name on it, so my father-in-law will send a padded envelope every so often with a book in it so my son will have something to open!

Since I don't have any Toy Story Stamps the next best thing for me to do was to make a card with a Robot on it because my son likes to go around the house and say "I AM A ROBOT".  I just think these little guys are cute. I have been short on time, so I made both these cards from my scrap box and both of them very quickly. I have  A LOT of scraps to use up. :-)

Simple cards and Operation Write Home

Hi all!

I hope everyone is having a safe and Happy 4th of July!

I have some very simple cards I did for some challenges and besides having lack of time this week and needing to make them super fast I also needed to keep them super simple as I am going to take both these cards I am sharing today and add them to my stash to send to Operation Write Home.

I can personally speak about receiving a card and it was touching that someone made a handmade card to send to our deployed military to be able to keep in touch with family while they are away overseas.   Kim Wilson wrote about it on her blog and it brought it to my attention again now that I have a blog that I can write about it as well and encourage others to send some of their extra cards they have or maybe you will be inspired to create for Operation Write Home. I know in my husbands case, he does not have extra time to write an old fashioned letter, so this made it easy and was appreciated on both ends. Please take a few minutes to check out their site. It really does help our Heros keep in touch with their families.

When making cards to OWH, it's best to keep things simple, and one reason is embellishments do not pop off or get caught with other cards. There are some simple guidelines and one important one is to keep our servicemen and women safe. You can read about it here. Thank you so much!

Onto my first challenge and card. This was for the Operation Write Home Independence Day Blog Hop.The Challenge was to post anything to celebrate America's birthday! Again super simple card. It just had to be a birthday themed card, and I knocked this out quickly between festivities this weekend and once again reaching in my scrap box. Gotta love it! I still had my star ribbon laying out from my last Red, White, and Blue card I made, so that was a quick grab! I have to say it was real hard for me to not add buttons on here or something to embellish it just a bit! :-)
Next up is for Kim's Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge #14.
Here is Kim's super cool inspiration photo!

The colors for the challenge were Raspberry Fizz, Enchanted Evening, Cream or White. My CAS short on time card is as follows!

My darker pink card stock was embossed for added texture to tie in the embossing of the elegant little heart that was stamped in Enchanted Evening and doused in embossing powder and heat set. The same steps were repeated for the sentiment.
These are now added to the Operation Write Home Stack with my others I have ready to go! Again! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe July 4th! Happy Birthday America! God Bless our Troops!

Wee Memories Challenge #12, Red, White, and Blue Color Challenge

The Wee Memories challenge this week is to incorporate Red, White, and Blue into our projects.

Here is what I came up with quickly. I now have a head start on next years 4th of July cards! :)

Stamped Woodgrain background in VersaMark ink and poured embossing powder to heat set.  I really love how it came out and so pretty and shinny! Which is not really showing up in this photograph. urgh!
I then used my Big Shot die cutting machine for my scallop border die and spellbinders cut. Next I used my Cricut for the star. I stamped a Hero Arts Fancy Flourishes image on my scalloped rectangle in SU Real Red, and then I stamped my Happy 4th Sentiment by Our Craft Lounge and punched it out and added it to my star. Easy Peasy. For a finishing touch I added a Pure Poppy button at the top of the card.

Thanks for looking!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! Let me just start off by saying I saw this Halter Top and I loved it and found instant inspiration to create a fun and chic card that reflected the colors in this beautiful top!

So, here is my approach to this cute summary number above! This is for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Challenge.
I was feeling like a TALL card today to get out of my A2 size rut! :)!! With VersaMark ink I randomly stamped a hibiscus background on the So Saffron layer to bring forth the inspiration pattern in the halter top. I then added my layers accordingly.

I used my Cricut to create this hip and fab chic. If you look close, she has a halter dress on! I finished off by adding a hibiscus at the bottom to pull out the black and white flower in the top.

I hope you had time to create something today in your part of the world!
Warm Aloha,
~Tammy~

Paper: SU: Basic Black, So Saffron, Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom

Embellish Magazine Color Challenge **Baby Theme**

I am back with another Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with a baby theme. The colors we are to use are Yellow, Cream, Peach, and Green.

My inspiration came from my son's nursery! The theme in his room was Moons and Stars.

I used cream as my card base and layered peach on top of that which I found in my scrap box.  While rummaging through my scrap box I challenged myself to see if I could finish the rest of my card using my scraps. Sure enough everything I needed was in there. {yeah}

I stamped the peach card stock with Papertrey Ink's Polka Dot Basic's II using VersaMark Ink. I used the Cricut to cut the stars and moon. I used my Divine Swirls embossing folder to add texture to the top star! I added foam mounting squares to add dimension to the Star.

Thank you to W Plus 9 Design Studio for sponsoring this Challenge.
Warm Aloha and Blessings!
Tammy

I want to ride my Bike in a Moxie Fab Off the Wall Craftiness World!

The Moxie Fab Challenge is all about bicycles being fun and summary!  The card just came together perfect with Kim's OTWC Color Challenge, so I was able to cover both these fabulous challenges in one. The colors for the OTWC Challenge #13 need to be similar to PTI's, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, and Sweet Blush and white and black are also allowed.  Kim's inspiration photo is above.

My inspiration started with My Better Home and Garden Magazine I got in the mail last week. I just loved those place mats on the cover and it definitely felt very summary to me. I thought the Moroccan Motifs Impression Plate from Papertrey Ink would make the perfect background for this card. I rubbed Raspberry Fizz ink over the top to pop out the impression which was to give it a rustic look.

The bicycle is just the cutest fun little thing, but boy was it tedious to piece together! :). My sentiment states: "Live like you mean it" For me, it was the perfect statement for this card. We all should Live like we mean it because we don't know what tomorrow brings. It also reminds me of summers when I was little riding my bike  with streamers. I would peddle and peddle like I meant it...like I had somewhere to go even if it was just to the end of our road. It seems just like yesterday. Ahh those childhood summers we look back on fondly.

Thanks for taking look!  Happy Summer and Happy crafting!
Blessings!

3 in 1

3 in 1

This weekend was a busy one and the week ahead will be the same, so I am combing three challenges in one card so I can get the submissions in. J

The first challenge I will talk about is a new one for me called Everything But the Kitchen Sink (EBTKS) sketch Challenge #17.  I saw the Sketch and I knew this would be a fun one to play along with.

Next Challenge is Kim’s Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge #12 using the colors, mint green, black, and/or white, and red if we wanted. Here is her inspiration photo. I love her photo collages she chooses each week! J

The third Challenge is Jenny’s Wee Memories “Let’s Get Sticky”
Our challenge was to incorporate stickers, of any kind, into the project i.e. Vinyl stickers, Rub-ons, Rhinestone and/or pearl stickers, diecut stickers, etc. Anything with a sticky back! So my lovely and beautiful Red Rhinestones by EK Success covered that option. There is even one added on the flower on the purse. SAWEET! J

Note: The light is bouncing off the ribbon, so it’s not showing up, and I have tried multiple times, but there is nothing I can do to get this photographed with my current settings and equipment. On the Real Red strip of card stock I have white satin ribbon going down the side then I have layered mint green 1/8 mini dot ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks to all the sponsors! Have a good week!
~Tammy~

WPlus9 Color Cue {5} Challenge

For Dawn's Color Cue Challenge we were to use the colors Aqua, Brown, Orange and Green and we could use white for neutrality.

I found this card came together real easy for me. I loved putting these colors together and I knew I wanted dimension to make the colors and focal point pop out.

I wanted to start with a 5 x 5 card base using Chocolate Chip card stock by Stampin' Up! Since we have such rich colors I wanted to added a strip of white card stock across the card for neutrality then I stamped Papertrey Ink's Dot Spot across the white strip alternating the colors SU Only Orange, SU Chocolate Chip, and an aqua color from Martha Stewart. (It's a small ink spot that came in a kit I no longer have the name for.)

Then using my Cricut I cut a square doily in SU Only Orange and impressed it with Papertrey Ink's Sunshine Impression Plate.  Next I used my Cricut to cut scallop flowers to build my center piece layering each with SU Dimensionals to make it "pop".  Each flower layer was then touched with vintage tea dye for a timeless touch.  I added a little bling to the center with an EK Success Rhinestone.

Last but not least I stamped the cute little sentiment in Chocolate Chip from My Pink Stamper Simply Sweet Occasions!

Thanks for taking a look!

E.A.D. Designs Plum Shabby Color Challenge 1

Plum Shabby Color Challenge 1

E.A. D. Designs is hosting their first Color challenge and the colors are Black, Plum and Gray. How divine and rich is that??? Below is the inspiration photo.

This card included several things that I love, paper, ribbon, buttons, stamping, black, purple, gray, and a little bling!!!....Um just about everything, okay, let’s get to the card {wink wink} I Started out with Stampin’ UP! Perfect Plum as my standard A2 base I then added a layer each of designer paper by Making Memories before I adhered it to my card base.

I used my Gypsy to cut the remaining images to simplify things as they are from two different cartridges.  After my scallop top note was cut in the gray, I used VersaMark ink with Damask Designs by Papertrey Ink to create a subtle background image.

Next I layered the chair cut. Can you see the purple peeking underneath in the scroll? {love it} Then I reversed the paper layers for the word Relax which I adhered with foam adhesive, before adding a few rhinestones to finish it off. Oh, and did you notice I had to have a rhinestone to the top of the chair!  Last but not least I added some buttons!

I hope you enjoyed this fun little card as much as I enjoyed creating it! It is much cuter in person!!! I am glad I got to participate in E.A.D. Designs First Color Challenge!

Take care and have a great day!
~Tammy~
