Hello Friends!
I am sharing a card I made very quickly for the 10 Minute Craft Dash which is sponsored by Paper Sweeties. If you are new to the challenge, you basically try to create a card in less than 10 minutes using the color prompt for the challenge. You are allowed to pull your supplies before you start the cardmaking process. I always try to have a sketch/layout in mind before starting. I have participated in quite a few of these now, and I push the envelope more and more these days because I really like to layer or paper piece. Another tip: Make sure you are not about to run out of tape in your ATG gun. Why Yes this happened to me! Ugh! Thankfully, I had snail adhesive close by. :-)
When I saw the color prompt, I couldn't get Christmas out of my mind even though it's the middle of October with Halloween and Thanksgiving on the brain. So I am grateful, to have one card completed in the Christmas stash.
Enough chit chat...{wink}
Here is what the finished product looked like.
Here is what I pulled to start with. I had way more ambition then time! Bumming I didn't get my twine added on the final card.
Here is the table after. I spend a lot of time sweeping and moving things out of the way.
Since paper piecing takes me the longest, I start there and watch the timer to see how I am doing. If it's taking too long then I scratch that and move on. I figured I would be ok since I just needed to paper piece the hat and scarf, but then I got ambitious again and cut a pom pom in a different color for his hat. :-)
Next, I die-cut the white cardstock and stamped my snowman from Paper Sweeties Snow Friends directly on the die-cut. I picked out a snowflake from the same set and randomly stamped it in Peacock Feathers ink leaving room for the sentiment which is from Paper Sweeties Friendship Warms The Heart. Hard part done! The last thing to do was piece together and layer my patterned papers to the card base. I did add a piece of washi tape where the papers joined. I didn't like the tape that I had pulled and went with another choice.
Time To Complete: 9:06
Here is the color prompt. I hope you will join along for your chance to win some Paper Sweetie goodness!
I am also sharing at: Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes!
Thanks so much for dropping by! Good luck!
