Hello~
I don't often make sympathy cards because they are very difficult for me to make. Because it's such a raw emotion, I usually have to seek inspiration to get started when I am in need of one. My heart is always aching for the intended recipient.
I embossed a panel from Pink Pirouette cardstock to compliment the beautiful flourish in the focal image. I stamped, die-cut, embossed my focal image using a woodgrain impression plate. I inked the edges slightly using a tea stain die. I added a strip of floral patterned paper down the center finishing off with some rustic twine, a bow and button.
For my inspiration, I turned to the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. Although it's a picture of Petit Fours, I took away the beautiful colors and used the oval woodgrain mat as my inspiration.

Excellent interpretation of the photo and an even lovelier sympathy card. It is really pretty. The florals and wood grain work perfectly together.

Really pretty - you've done a wonderful job. They are definitely tough cards to make.
Very pretty card Tammy, I also find sympathy cards difficult to make, especially if I know the family.
What a gorgeous card....sure to lift spirits on such a sad occasion.
Happy Mothers Day!
What a beautiful card! I may be using this as some inspiration myself. My cousin passed away this week and I would like to send my aunt a sympathy card. The sentiment here is just what I am looking for. Thank you!
This is beautiful Tammy! Lovingly made and will bring comfort to whomever receives it. Beautiful.
Totally gorgeous card, Tammy. Love all the details, and the sentiment is perfect.
While difficult to make I think you've captured the feeling of sympathy perfectly. The small floral pattern and layered layout are so pretty and lend such a positive feel to a design that often feels sad...lovely
