The Kraft Journal - Vintage Dictionary Page Paper Flowers

Hi Everyone!

I love to make my own little embellishments and home decor projects.  Since It's my turn to do a little share over on The Kraft Journal, I thought I would share one of the ways I make paper flowers. Today I mixed the Vintage Dictionary Pages with colored cardstock, and I like how it turned out.

The Supplies you need include:
* Cardstock
*Blossom die or flower punch
*Brads
*Paper Piercer (not pictured)
*water spritzer (if you use cardstock or a heavy weight paper)
Punch or die-cut your blossoms (about 6 to 8).  For a vintage touch, I inked the edges of mine.

If you use cardstock, you will need to spritz those pieces with water. This just helps break the fibers down a bit and make it softer to work with.
Next scrunch your blossoms into tiny balls as you see here.
Now carefully un-crumple them.
Stack each flower. With your paper piercer poke a hole in the center.
Add your brad, closing the back.
Take your top layer and smush upward to the center and repeat for each layer.
It should start to look like this.
Once you have the flower scrunched upward. Starting at the bottom, start to pull back the bottom layers just a bit till you get just the flower look you are going for. These are easy peasy to make in no time.

This particular size I don't use on my cards, but embellish packages or home decor projects. The possibilities are endless.

Stay tuned for a future post where these might re-appear! :-)

Be sure to stop by The Kraft Outlet to check out the wonderful line of Kraft Paper products including something I {heart} Vintage Dictionary Pages! I would love it if you dropped by The Kraft Journal and left me some love!

Awesomeness! And you die-cut them all the same size, right? This is something I could see playing around with :)

Very beautiful! I agree, this size can be too much for a small card, but it's perfect for packages, as you say. :) Or even to decorate store-bought picture frames!
