Hello all!
It's another wonderful week at Off The Wall Craftiness! Week 26 already!
Since our wonderful sponsor this week at Off the Wall Craftiness is Plaid Paint I thought I would put together a tutorial showing how you can incorporate paint instead of ink with your stamps.
So, let's start with the supplies you need to gather: Plaid acrylic paint, a paper plate to put the paint on, a foam brush that you can get at your local craft or discount store, a stamp, and cardstock. In my personal opinion, I do find that rubber stamps work better.
Ssh, don't tell my son, I took one of his paper plates!
Next, Load your sponge brush with paint.
Now you are ready to stamp the image onto cardstock. I love the different look of paint versus ink, but it takes some practice to get the technique down. Acrylic paint is a little sloppier than stamping with ink, and the image typically will not be as clear and crisp.
By using a heat tool, the drying time for the acrylic paint is less than a minute. Air drying time would be around ten minutes.
Surprisingly, the paint rinses off the stamps easily with water. I used my fingers to work water into the grooves. *The key to easy cleaning is...don't let the paint sit on the stamps. Rinse them off as soon as possible. Easy peazy!
I had some paint left over and I felt like doing some accessorizing!
I had fun working with this great product from our sponsor,
Plaid Paint. Mixing the colors to incorporate ideas from our inspiration photo was a breeze!
Here is the inspiration photo...
I hope you will give stamping with paint a try! Head over to
Off the Wall Craftiness blog for the amazing prize package and to see the rest of the design team’s creations.
I would love to hear your thoughts.... I would love for you to leave a comment.
Happy crafting!
