Thinking of You Sketch card with The Kraft Journal

Hey there!

Hope it's a beautiful spring like day in your neck of the woods. It's the start of a new week and that means I have a card to share with you for The Kraft Journal. It's a sketch challenge this week, and yay me I created a "Dreaded Man Card" also known on my blog as a "DMC". Masculine cards are usually pretty tough for me because I like to use pretty girly frillies...you know ribbons, bows, buttons, pearls...etc.

This came together easy between the sketch this week and the great products at The Kraft Outlet. I used a base of Blackboard Stock Paper onto which I added a piece of solid patterned paper with distressed edges. I stayed pretty true to the sketch, and I added a fun print patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. Next I stamped a frame and sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps onto Buff Ivory Cardstock and cut it out with a coordinating die-cut.
Final embellishing touches included using Lost & Found Salvage Stickers to add tickets and soda bottle caps to the card front.

Here is the sketch to follow this week:

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your sketch creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am also sharing at:

Thanks for visiting!

Don't know what you were worried about. It sure looks good to me. Bows and "GIRLY" stuff does not bother me. Depending on whom it is coming from it is like getting something of them along with the card.

Those tickets are a great way to "man" up the DMC! Lookin' good, my friend! I have guy cards on my blog today too. I always think of you when i make them, and your DMC phrase. Lol

Hows your shoulder doing? And belated happy moms day!

I know what you mean about masculine cards! I want to put glitter on everything that isn't moving :) I think you did an excellent job with this card. The colors are fantastic and I'm lovin' those bottle caps.

Best crafty wishes!

You did a great job with this, Tammy. I don't do well with sketches, so to be honest...I was glad it was my week to do a tutorial...LOL (just being truthful). Thanks for sharing!

I call them DMCs all the time now too :) This is awesome - bright but not kidd-ish, and still totally man-worthy :)
