Hi!
Ok, so this is going to be a non-crafty post! As many of you know, I hardly get personal! Like Ever! I may share small bits here and there, but a non-crafty personal post never happens...till today.
My son has had many struggles in his short life. I don't share about it much on my blog, but he faces many challenges every day. We keep the roads hot with many many doctor's appointments and I mean hot. We travel in many different directions in the Northern Virginia/National Capital area. We also keep that road hot to many baseball games and practices. This is the one positive thing that keeps him going. He LOVES it!
He is on two teams. He is currently on a Little League team and a Lower Level Travel Team. We live, think, and breath Baseball this time of year. Even in the winter he is participating in a winter conditioning camp indoors. This has been the bright spot for him when other things aren't so bright.
Having said that, he is participating in a Baseball Tournament called Kyle's Kamp Memorial Day Weekend raising money for the Division of Oncology and Pediatric Cancer Research. This foundation was started by a baseball loving family like ours, whose son name Kyle, was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 6. Pediatric research is way underfunded.
28 Children are diagnosed with Cancer EVERY DAY in the US alone! That is alarming to me. Only 4% of Cancer Research funding is spent on Pediatric Cancer. Also alarming!
So this tournament that my son is participating in is to help raise those funds for research needed. I am pretty passionate about a few things, Family, Baseball, Cancer Research, and Crafting! :-)
I don't normally ask this, but if you feel it in your heart to help support my son who is helping kids through America's pastime. A little combined goes a long way. You can click on the donation widget at the top right of the blog. You can donate as little as you want and anonymously.
We would appreciate it!
