Get Your Glitz On!

Hi Everyone!

A real quick post for me as I have another busy day with home improvements and trying to keep a little one entertained while we do all the things that need to be done.

Today I have a card for the Get Your Glitz On Background Stamping Challenge. I just love this Distressing Musical Background by Glitz Designs, so I thought it would be fun to play along.

I wanted to keep this fairly simple for mailing purposes, but I think I might have killed that idea when I added the buttons! (I just couldn't help it!)  I stamped the musical background from the D 2961 Glitz distressing set repeatedly on my cream card stock then adding it to my card base. I then added the doily and peach felt zig zag (I believe from American Crafts)to the card. Next I stamped a frame from Glitz Fancy Frames S 2693 and fussy cut and distressed the edges.  Next I stamped a simple sentiment in the frame.  For a finishing touch, I added some vintage buttons to the top portion of the card.

I am also adding this to: Clear It Out Tuesday: Anything Goes!

Speaking of getting your Glitz on, I have a friend in blogging world (Colleen), who's 13 year old daughter just started an adorable blog called Glossip Girl!  She has a fun enthusiasm for Philosophy products especially Philosophy lip gloss.  I use to pride myself on being a little stylish and fashionable and then....well the Mom roll took over, so now my style is more casual, but no matter what I am wearing, I love a little lip shine, so I know I appreciate the young and fresh advice of this sweet young girl!  Please go check out her cute blog, I know she would love it if you followed her too!  She has a talent for writing fantastic reviews for such a young lady!

Well, I hope your weekend is going fabulously!

Hope this day is special as you are...

Hey all!

I was going through card making withdrawals, so I decided to make a little card with one of my scrap bags I just discovered in some things I unpacked. Boy! I have quite a stash of scraps to go through. I just love this pattern paper. I believe it was from The Angel Company.

Ugg, wouldn't you know the ribbon would be in the way of the sentiment for the photo. Normally, I would reshoot it, but as luck would have it, my card reader decided to die today, so I had to use hubby's ancient desert worn computer (full of sand), to upload the picture, and then I had to email it to myself so I could use my computer to edit it. Let's just say it took over an hour because I believe his computer has got to be the slowest one out there.  I am really surprised it still works after the abuse it has endured.

The top and bottom of the card I took two small flourish stamps from two different Crafty Secret stamp collections to create an alternating image for a nice vintage flourish border.  I used VersaMark ink, but still have not found my heat gun, so I couldn't set it with heat and stick powder to really make it pop. (I must add I have not found my heat and stick powder yet either...oh the joys of moving)
I know it's still hard to see, but you can make it out a little. Really wishing the card reader had not bit the dust on me, so I could reshoot this little number.

I also stamped the tag top and bottom with the same flourish stamp, and placed my sentiment in the middle. Since you really can't see, I thought I would tell you! If anyone has some pointers on how to make watermark images photograph well, I am all eyes and ears!

Besides adding the seam binding which I love using on cards, I added a strip of elegant velvet aqua trim.

I am going to play along with The Ribbon Reel's Chantilly Lace Color Challenge. The challenge colors were inspired by the photo below. Aqua, pink, cream or white. You also had to use ribbon and a flower!
I also thought it would be fun to play along at Stamp Something - Embellished challenge and Jules Crafty Snipped Challenge - #29.  I am still working from scraps as I mentioned earlier.  Hand Stamped Sentments - Flourish Challenge.

Well, I must go back to fixing and sorting and more unpacking....play time is over! Boo! I will be back at the end of the week with a new Off The Wall Craftiness challenge.  There is still time to play in this weeks challenge.

Happy Tuesday!

Have a Twinkly Day!

Hello there!

My son was invited to a birthday party in our new neighborhood.  So happy to see little ones make friends fast!   Any how, I have not had a chance to get out and about in our new area to shop for a card (which would have been easier given our situation).  Obviously, I have all the makings to make cards, but the problem is finding all my crafty things in a miscellaneous mess. The packers had their own method of packing and labeling, and we still have things in boxes because of the various projects we have going on.  So, I resorted to my scrap pile I had leftover when living at my Mom's house during our transition period. This I could find! I am not complaining because I need to use my scraps up, but I am not feeling very creative these days, so I used a couple of challenge as a jumping off point!

So, I took the challenge from Paper and Such Design Blog for the color inspiration. This was a challenge because these are not colors I go to often, but had all the making in my scrap bag. I also love to be challenged!
Next I took some creative liberty and used the sketch from The Ribbon Reel Challenge blog.
Since this is for a four year old little girl who is every bit a little princess, I found some glitter paper in my stash, and thought it was fitting for her card.  However, I decided to try stamping on it, and as I suspected it doesn't take the ink well and fades right away...again, she is only four and I am pretty sure will care less! :-) Noted to use for backing paper only! :-) I had a doily remnant left over from a project way back, and inked it with some Antique Linen so it wasn't stark white. I added some ribbon and twine, and flowers all in my stash bag, and put my darling paper pieced Angel Princess in the center and my son has a card for the party!  Now on to do the birthday present shopping, oh and I will need gift wrap. I have looked...can't find my storage container with my wrapping paper. Moving is FUN!

I will link this up with Jules' Crafty Snippet Challenge because all the items came from my stash! This is a great idea because I have a huge pile, and in a box somewhere is another huge pile before the move.

Well, that's it for me today! Not sure when I will be getting crafty again, but I love to check on to see what everyone else is creationing when I can! It keeps me inspired!
Good Day!

Off The Wall Craftiness 57 Shore Miss You!

Hello there! I am so happy you stopped by today! I know my post are very few right now because of all the home improvement projects, but it does make me REALLY happy when my friends stop by.

Let's get to the card I have to share with you for the new Off The Wall Craftiness "theme" challenge, but first take a look at this wonderful inspiration photo! NO colors this week, but a beach theme, so let those creative juices flow!
July 14th Beach Theme
My card features various images from several of the fabulous Wilson Designs stamp line. I had a little fun and created a little beach scene. (Wishing I was there in this 100 degree plus weather we have been experiencing L). The paper pieced beach hut, surfboard and sentiment Shore Miss You is from Wilson Designs Teeny Bikini.  The sentiment banner is from the brand new release Sweet Celebrations. I took the background hearts from Ride Away With Me to create a pattern in my clouds which is also from Ride Away With Me

Until next time, you'll want to be sure to head over to Off The Wall Craftiness for more information on OTWC57 challenge and don't forget to check out the other design team creations!

I guess I better get back to the house projects, but before I go, I am going to send this over to Jules Snippet Challenge since this card was created entirely from my scrap bag.

Hope you come play along with us at Off The Wall Craftiness!

Wilson Designs July Release Day!

Hi ya!

Today is the day for the July Release for Wilson Designs.  I know you are going to love both sets!  I've got two more samples to show you.

I just love this Cake! It is sooooo fun to create/decorate this Yummy focal image. I am just smitten! Think how nice it would be to send a card like this who did well on their test or finals or did well in a friendly competition. How about to someone going through a medical procedure they were dreading, but did great!
So, without further ado let's introduce you to this first set.
Strawberry Lemonade
Oh my, there are so many fun images to play with and great sentiments too! What do you think?

Now let's go to set two.

Now this Ice Cream Truck is just too cute and I heart this fluffy ice cream cone! I also LURVE this sentiment because it can be used for so many celebrations...birthdays, anniversaries, retirement, graduation, promotions the list can go on.

Now I would like to introduce you to the second set!
Sweet Celebrations
This release is fantastic for summer, and you will not be disappointed.  Remember the first person to make a purchase of the new release receives the next release free.  Now it's your turn to hop on over to the other design team blogs and see what they have created.  You will be glad you did! Don't forget to comment on the design team blogs for your chance to win!

Wilson Designs July Release Day 1!

Hi there and welcome to day 1 of the Wilson Design release!  Today and tomorrow the Wilson Designs Design Team will have some goodies to show featuring two wonderful releases and we have a special guest designer this month Mariana Grigsby.

As many of you know, I am in the middle of a major move to include many many home improvement projects, so I am not unpacked and let's just say I have no idea where many of my crafting things are.  I actually worked on the floor to put together the few samples you will be seeing today and tomorrow.

Let's start off with the first stamp set shall we?

I stamped the cupcake image several times and paper pieced to create my focal point.  I love the size of this yummylicious cupcake, and it's just too CAUTE! I was able to create and build my own sentiment and I finished the banner with some fun rhinestones!

Next from set 1!

This card features more sentiment building this time mixing with a previous released set Everything's Owl Right .  Loving this adorable strawberry

I have a clean and simple card from the second set.

Does this scream summer or what?  We have been enjoying quite a few popsicles this summer in our house, but I don't think they were quite as cute as this fun paper pieced popsicle. What a sweetie is the perfect sentiment to thank someone!  The focal panel was popped up with foam adhesive for added dimension. To give a simple and final touch I added some ribbon and white buttons.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Don't forget to drop by the rest of the Wilson Designs Design Team today for more release inspiration.  Leaving comments on all of our blogs increases your chances to be a winner.  Who doesn't like to win free stamps?
Mariana (July Guest)

Have a wonderful day and be sure to come back tomorrow at 9:00 EST for more samples and the final release.
