With Deepest Sympathy

Hi There!

Sympathy cards are not my favorite to make.  Unfortunately, I actually needed to make this card for someone. L

I used the Hero Arts Peacock cling stamp.  I added some rhinestones to the peacock's tail.  The sentiment is from Stampendous. A length of seam binding, was added horizontal to the card and finished off in a bow.  The sentiment panel was placed on top and then I added a button and twine to the center of the bow to complete this card.
I used Lily Pad Cards Sketch for my layout.
That's it for me, I hope you have a great start to your Memorial Day weekend. Let us remember those who have served for our right to freedom and also use this as a time to reflect and remember those loved ones who have passed away.
Have a good night!

Hello Friend OTWC 54

Hello Friend~
Yes, that would be all of you! :-) I hope you had a great week! It's time for another Off The Wall Craftiness Color Challenge, and we want YOU to play along with us.
I started out with a Top Note die from Stampin' Up! (Thank Laurel) and I pulled out some of my Wilson Design Stamps which is always so much fun. For this card, I used three different Wilson Design Sets. Everything's Owlright , Spring Silhouettes, and Simply Silhouettes. I stamped my owl twice. Once on the branch and then stamped and fussy cut him out and popped him on for added dimension.

Take a look at the inspiration and colors for OTWC 54.

Sponsor is Kellys Creative Design

I can't wait to see what you come up with. If you use Wilson Design Stamps, you will be entered into the random drawing twice, just leave Kim a comment. To find out more information about the challenge and the sponsor this week, head on over to Off The Wall Craftiness for the details.

On another note, please head over to Fascinating Fridays, where this week we are featuring Kate and her fabulous creations. It's always great to get to know other fellow crafters and be inspired by their work.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Ribbons, Pearls and All Things Girls!

Hello There!

I have a sweet little vintage girly girl card for you today for The Friday Mashup!  The theme was Ribbons, Pearls and All Things Girls.  I think I covered it. What do you think?

I stamped the three silhouettes from Hero Arts in Angel Pink. I then stamped random images from Crafty Secrets French Mail in London Fog all on Whisper White Cardstock. Next I layered a piece of pattern paper from Me and My Big ideas Forever Watercolor line. I added a diecut from Kay and Company that was in my stash and I stamped the beautiful Frame and Eiffel Tower from Wilson Designs Simply Silhouettes. Topping things off with a beautiful girly flower, twine, ribbon, buttons and of course some pearls! I added some distress ink to the edges to give it that vintage feel.

It truly is a girly girl card and I had fun creating it!

Have a great evening friends!

Jolly Old Saint Nick Stripes and Polka Dots....

Hi There...

Well that is some blog title huh? It's official I have managed to make my first Christmas card and it's MAY! If I had been playing all along at Jingle Belles I would have a pretty good dent in my Christmas cards, but since I have not I am just one down, and we will see how many get made this year...ha! It may be back to boxed cards for our household.

The City Crafter Challenge this week is to use Stripes and Polka Dots.
The Jingle Belles Blog is to create a card featuring Santa Clause.
I am proud to say I managed to dig in my scrap bag to accomplish this card! I distressed the edges of my pattern paper a collection by Stampin' UP! I ran some hemp rope down the center of the striped paper then adding a row of buttons. The tag is stamped by Crafty Secrets Vintage Secrets and the Believe sentiment is from Christmas Joy by Cloud 9 Designs.
I added a double seam binding bow with some hemp embellishing along with a glittered glass chipboard star I had picked up at an etsy shop.

Wishing you a wonderful evening my friends,

Color Throwdown

Hi!

Just popping on with a quick little post and a simple little card! Going back to my CAS style today for a Thank You note and using the Color Throwdown Colors.

I am a little disappointed in that I couldn't capture the dimension in my photograph, but the saffron layer is popped up with foam mounting tape, and the butterfly wings are actually bent upward glued in the center, and I added some beautiful yellow pearls to the center. The sentiment panel is mounted up as well.  My sentiment is from Wilson Designs Everythings Owlright. My buttons are a variety I have on hand, but most of them are from Stampin' UP!
Before I go, I thought I would share my "not so great pictures" from the final Shuttle Endeavour launch today. I am fortunate enough to be about an hour away from the launch pad, so we can see it come up above our trees.  I had my camera in hand, but not on the right setting, so missed the best photo op, but I figured I would share what I have anyway.

Hope you all are off to a great week so far!

~Meant to be~

Hello~

(To see my OTWC Challenge post that took a backseat to the blogger mess click here Thanks ya'll)

How about some wedded bliss today?

I created a card base from Crumb Cake by Stampin' UP! next layering a Whisper White sheet with background images created from Wilson Designs Stamps.  The stamps used are Spring Silhouettes and Simply Silhouettes. I used a paper doily adding it to the corner which I inked up with aqua mist. I created a sentiment panel "Meant to Be" from Spring Silhouettes. I finished this off with a double fluffy seam binding bow, some glittered chipboard embellies, and a paper rose!

Over at the Pals Paper Arts Blog they have a wedding theme going on that I will play along with.

Hope you're having a fabby weekend!

Thanks a Bunch Off The Wall Craftiness 53

Hi Ya!
It's been two weeks, so it's time for another Off The Wall Craftiness Color Challenge.  The Sponsor this weeks is Through The Craft Room Door Magazine.

I created a Kraft card base then added layers of varies papers from my scrap pile that worked perfectly for the OTWC colors. Adding a tag stamped from Wilson Designs Everything's Owlright, a fluffy seam binding bow, some buttons, a doily, and I couldn't resist finishing off with this adorable nest of eggs.
Here's a look at your inspiration storyboard and colors for this challenge:
(note, do as I say not as I do...when I first saw the colors I pulled them up on a different monitor and went to work. so it's actually not blue as seen in mine card, but a good example is Ocean Tides, by PTI and I am in no way making an endorsement here.)

Hi!

Well, I started looking at my ever growing scrap pile and decided I needed to work from that if at all possible, so this is what I came up with.

I used a few challenges as my inspiration.   Colourq84 for color.
My theme inspiration transpired from The City Crafters 56 Challenge ~ By The Sea. Show anything sea related.
My Craft Spot - Bling it up!
Creating a Whisper White card base, I started adding my various pattern papers I had in my scrap pile to create this nautical friendly greeting.  The pattern paper is all from Stampin' UP! The stamps used are from Wilson Designs.  I tucked the cute little greeting from Spring Silhouettes under a button and worked my way left with various buttons (sigh I just love buttons, and I have several in my stash to use up) and finished off by sort of casing myself here with the anchor charm. I know I have been using this set a lot lately, but I just love it! I have been waiting to use this Daffodil Delight Pom Pom trim from Stampin' UP! I just had to add it to this card!

The sailboat was paper pieced on a Martha Stewart doily. Finised embellishing touches with some paper roses and rhinestones.

I  usually never comeback and share my happy news, but THIS card was selected as an Artist Spotlight over at the City Crafters Challenge Blog.

Thanks for stopping by to see me!

You're Awesome!

Happy almost Mother's Day dear friends!

I created this card for a dear friend with the Pals Paper Arts colors in mind. This friend is long overdue for a note, but life has been busy for both of us, and yet she has not missed remembering my family each holiday with a handmade creation of her own. You would think since this is what I do just about daily I could get my act together and do the same for her, so this is for my dear sweet friend! We have been friends for over 16 years! She always remembers my son with an envelope full of goodies no matter how small the holiday and just this week she made me a Mother's Day card!

Ppa color
I created a 4 x 7 card which fits perfectly in a business size envelope. The images that you see are all from Wilson Designs Stamps. Those fun paper pieced clouds are from Ride Away With Me and the super fun main images are from the newly released Scoot Away With Me. I decided to make some flower smoke!

Beautiful sunsets in Florida can produces similar colors in the clouds! Really beautiful! The designer paper comes from The Mango Frost Stack by DCWV.
Thank you for Scooting by!

Seeds of Happiness for Mom

Edited to note this card was chosen as City Crafters Artist Spotlight May 10th, 2011.
Hello~

Just jumping on to share another card I created for Mother's Day! Those who are married know that you must come up with not only one card, but two for Mother's Day! This one is on the way to my husband's Mom.

I used the colors from the City Crafters Challenge Blog as my inspiration.
Such a beautiful collection of flowers. So, keeping with the floral theme in the photo, I used a die cut from K & Company.  The tag is stamped Mom from the set Let's Rock by Wilson Designs.  My cardstock base is from Stampin' UP!, and the Designer Paper is from Me & My Big Ideas.
I am also playing along with My Craft Spot: We love you, Mom.

Hope your Mother's Day is filled with much love and appreciation!

Thank you so much for popping over to visit!

Mom

Hi

(If you are looking for the Wilson Design Release post from last night click here.)

Wow, Mother's Day is just a few short days away, and oddly enough, I have my Father's Day cards completed and I am just getting around to my Mother's Day Cards. My Mom actually reads my blog, so she has been instructed to NOT READ THIS POST until after Sunday! I have also had to be clever with my craftiness since I am staying with her so she doesn't see what I am working on. J
To kick off my inspiration, I used Jay Gee's Nook Photo challenge! So many possibilities!
Love the retro vibe and the Let's Rock set just released by Wilson Designs was perfect.
Creating a kraft cardstock to form my base which is layered with a mix of designer papers. Then onto trimmings of crochet lace, pink twine, and a crinkle seam binding bow finishing off with a pearly button to complete this retro Mom's Day Card!

I will also enter this card at My Craft Spot: We Love You Mom which is to make a card or project for your Mom that's easy peasy and The Kraft Journal: Mother's Day. That's a check!

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments over the last few days! I read each of them and they mean so much to me! As all crafters know...followers and your comments keep us going and I appreciate mine so much! I just wanted to take a moment to say that!

If you are a Mom, I hope you get to the Royal Treatment this weekend, if you are not, then may you be spending it with someone who has been very special in your life.J

Hi there and happy to have you popping back by for our second day of projects and the release!

First up is featuring a card from Let's Rock.

A fun little twist on your traditional vinyl records! Pink! My Mom had an Elvis album that was Blue, when I was growing up so I thought why not Pink? {Which I love {grins})
I sugar coated my flowers with some Martha Stewart Glitter and just had fun layering this little number with some goodies. Let's Rock is a sentiment that can be added to the record or left off.

Next up is a fun little number showcasing the Record  and another sentiment Got the blues? Totally wanted to make a card that would cheer someone up if they had the blues!
And now for a couple of cards from Scoot Away With Me....

Many of you may or may not know that Kim has a Vespa, so this set was a long time coming because she wanted a scooter set inspired by the authentic model.  I have to say I love her inspiration too! I wouldn't mind having this Scooter either! {wink} Fun Fun Fun stuff! And this is one Cool CHIC
I made my background paper for the greeting bubble behind the scooter with the new flower and added the new sentiment Ciao!
