Thankful for You

Hello everyone!

If you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope this finds you blessed and not stressed with the upcoming holiday on reflecting what we are thankful for!

I was hosting then I wasn't hosting Thanksgiving dinner, so I am grateful for wonderful friends having us over and picking up the slack.  I wanted to show my appreciation for having us over and my bag of goodies wouldn't be complete if I didn't throw a little something that was sprinkled with a crafty handmade touch.

Well I am always short on time these days, so I pretty much cased myself from a few years ago. No need to reinvent the wheel right?

5 Tags created in an assembly line to embellish some yummy treats.  Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine helped package these treats up nicely along with some ribbon and raffia I had in my stash.

I thank you for stopping by and visiting me! I am thankful for you!  I don't get crafty much these days, so it makes me feel good when I can and I love sharing with you! Working full-time and commuting along with a year long baseball schedule limits my blog hopping time and commenting, but I do peek at all your work! You inspire me!

I am going to share at Crafty Hazel Nuts - November use patterned paper challenge, Cardsz TV - Anything Goes.

Have a blessed and wonderful day!

Trendy Twine - Happy Birthday Lesley

Hello~

Today I get to share a card made for a special lady. The Trendy Twine Team and guest are showering Lesley, owner of Annie's Paper Boutique/Trendy Twine, with a surprise birthday post. Head over to the Trendy Twine blog to see all of the cards created by some talented ladies!

Lesley loves cats, so I couldn't help but use this plump little guy.  I used Tickled Pink Trendy Twine to wrap the front of the card three times and to embellish both buttons. The edges of the papers were distressed and some paint was added to give a further distressed feel.

Please hop over to the Trendy Twine Blog to see what the other talented ladies have to share and wish Lesley a Happy Birthday.

Trendy Baker's Twine - Halloween Peat Pot Gift Giving

Hello and Happy Friday!

I'm back as the Guest Designer for Trendy Twine!!
This is my last post! I've enjoyed my time
here on the Trendy Twine blog again and I hope I have brought some inspiration
for you to make some creations with your Trendy Twine!

Since it's my last post I thought I would share a Halloween Gifting Treat that incorporates this months featured Kraft Mini Seed Packets.

I started with some little peat pots and painted them up in pumpkin orange using Rit dye.  I than added pretty black lace to the bottom and top.
My next step was to make a fluffy layered bow which I added a 4 layered Totally Kraft Trendy Twine to the top which I anchored with a fancy button and greeting tag onto which I added to a gathering of tulle on the side of the pot.
Next I started having fun layering some diecuts and images onto gold and orange tulle and add dimension adhesive for a 3D effect. I created a double bow using Totally Kraft Trendy Twine embellished with a darling black jewel.

Now comes the fun part. Finding some goodies to place inside for your gift.  I decorated a Kraft Mini Seed Packets by stamping an image using VersaMark ink. I then used Totally Kraft Trendy Twine to trim the outside of the Mini Seed Packets.  I stamped a 31 in black ink and added a vintage image to complete the look. This is the perfect size to fit most gift cards and makes an adorable way to give a Halloween Treat. Perhaps to those hardworking teachers or if you know someone who has a birthday around Halloween. It is something they can use year after year.

Trendy Twine - Thanks Bunches

Hello and Happy Friday Crafty Peeps!
I'm back again with a post as the Guest Designer for Trendy Twine!

Today I'm sharing a card featuring our spotlight products this month.
My card incorporates using the Kraft Mini Seed Packets that can be found here.  I added it to the card front as interactive way to add a special message that can also be used as a mini bookmark or tag if you so choose.
Such a cute and fun way to add an extra surprise to your handmade creations!
Makes a darling bookmark. This comes as part of the set of the Kraft Mini Seed PacketsThe possibilities are endless! You could tuck a gift card or even a bunch of seeds for a gift.
My card front was very easy to put together, so it's up to your style and taste on how involved you want to get.  I started with a typical A2 card size and utilized a piece of pattern paper I had already cut from a previous make. I then took a length of
Totally Kraft Trendy Twine and wrapped the card front multiple times and tied off in a bow embellishing with a button and dew drop dot. Next I added my decorated Kraft Mini Seed Packet to the front of the card. Lastly I added a sentiment on a banner to the top left side of the card.

We have had a busy summer, and we are off to a busy fall! I am still very much a baseball Mom to this guy! Although I miss crafting tremendously, I realize my time is better spent enjoying these short few years I have left with him while he is under my roof! I'll always have my crafting, but I only have him for such a short time! They say it goes in a blink and it does!

Thank you for Bus Driver

Hello~

I think this is finally wrapping up any school themed projects I have left...at least for the next few months.

This is the first year my son has had to take the bus to school. His elementary school was close enough to walk. The bus drivers have tough jobs. I sent a treat on the first day and did a little something at Christmas. Although my son doesn't think she appreciates it, (She hasn't come across exactly as the most friendliest person) I feel it important to thank them for the important job they have!

I think this is maybe one of my favorites out of the recent set of cards I have created.

I started with a blue textured card base onto which I added my school bus patterned paper down the middle. I had a scrap of apple paper on my desk that I added about 3/4 of the way down.  I took a length of blue twine and wrapped the card front and tied in a bow to the left side. I had some other scraps on the desk that I used to create a frame for my focal image.
The bus is cut out using my Cricut. I used the Recess cartridge. I added it to the PTI limitless layer circles. The sentiment is part of the GWP I received a few years back from Peachy Keen Stamps. A final finishing touch of enamel dots in the upper right of the frame to finish it off.

I am sharing at: Crafting from the heart - Anything Goes, Pause Dream Enjoy - Circles, D.L. Art - June Linky, Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes, 613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Cardz TV - Anything Goes.

I hope you enjoyed all my school projects and various ways to use up those papers. (I think they secretly have more papers daily because they seem to multiply)

Please have a Terrific Thursday!

You Make All the Difference

Hi!

I am sharing a quick thank you card for someone who as the sentiment states has made a difference with positive influence. Since this card is for a man I am already challenged....ha. I don't have many papers that have a masculine feel. I would say that this didn't photograph well on many forms. These papers are a lot richer than shown. But hey I play with paper not a photographer.:))))
I followed the sketch from Sunday Stamps for inspiration. I always need direction when it comes to "Dreaded Man Cards" Ha! The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps and is a sentiment builder. I believe the set was called Say it Loud. I added a few sequins for finishing touches.
As mentioned earlier, layout inspiration from: Sunday Stamps

Thanks for popping in!

Thanks for all you do! Teacher

Good Day!

I hope your week is starting off well. You guessed it another school themed card! :)))) I think I have officially wrapped it up with the exception of doing one for the bus driver. That's a tough (and loud) job, and they do have the lives of our kiddos in their hands.

This is more simple and will go to one of his male teachers. Using some of my scraps from previous makes I used two different banner dies to cut out my patterned paper. The red frame was already created from a design I had worked on another make and decided not to use but is going to work well here. All I had to do was add a sentiment. It's a sentiment builder set from My Creative Time. I added Teacher at the bottom of the school rule paper adding a red enamel dot to the left for a little embellishing touch.
I never remember to take a picture of the inside, but I usually decorate it as well. This set is called Book Worm from Our Craft Lounge (no longer in business), but it's also another favorite set to use for these projects.
I am sharing at the following places: Lil Patch Crafty Friends - Anything Goes, D.L. Art - June Linky, Creative Fingers Challenge - Anything Goes, Four Crazy Chicks - Crazy Egg/ATG Hiding in my Craft Room - Use 4 different Colors, A Gem of a Challenge - Use Three of Something (Patterned paper), Crafting From the Heart - Anything Goes.

Thank you so much for dropping in!

Thank you (School themed)

Hello!

I hope you all had a fun weekend. I managed to crank out another thank you card for one of my son's teachers. I think I have one more to go.

I started with an A2 size card base using blue card stock I had out from a previous make. (The other half) I added those never ending school themed papers to the card front. They sure are coming in handy. Those of  you who have repeat visited, I am sure you are sick of them, but I am always wanting to use my stash. Hopefully maybe you find a little inspiration while here.:))))

I used my Cricut to cut the apple and I added an adorable Peachy Keen stamp face to the center. The pencil is a die-cut that you paper piece and is from MCT. I added a few sequins to the focal image for a touch of embellishing. I had a ribbon snippet that I used to create a tab anchored by a black button laced with red and white Twine.  The sentiment is also from Peachy Keen and was a "Thank you" gift with purchase.

I am sharing at the following places: Lil Patch Crafty Friends - Anything Goes, D.L. Art - June Linky, Creative Fingers Challenge - Anything Goes, Four Crazy Chicks - Crazy Egg/ATG, Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes, Penny's Paper Crafty Creations - Anything Goes, Hiding in my Craft Room - Use 4 different Colors, A Gem of a Challenge - Use Three of Something (Sequins), Crafting From the Heart - Anything Goes.

Thank you for visiting! Have a marvelous Monday!

2018 Graduate

Hello there!

We interrupt the marathon of teacher cards to bring you a graduation card!:)))

The weather has been dreary with this tropical storm looming about. It's been a VERY wet spring.

I started by embossing the Graduation Cap (DeNami Designs) with gold embossing powder to create my focal point. I had a piece of patterned paper from a recent card I made still on my desk. I liked how it looked against the navy card stock, so that was an easy design find at my finger tips.  I adhered it to the front of the card leaving enough room to add the die-cut numbers (My Creative Time) for the year to add to the bottom of the card.
I have this huge roll of Gold ribbon from May Arts that I have had for at least 10 years. Good thing that gold never goes out of style! :))) I took a length and wrapped it around the card front and instead of tying in a bow, I secured it with a blue button from my stash to complete this graduation card!
I am sharing over at: Shopping our Stash - Graduation, Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - Anything Goes, D.L. Art - June Linky, Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes,  Creative Fingers Challenge - Anything Goes, Crafty Creations - Anything Goes,  Four Crazy Chicks - Crazy Egg/ATG. Teach Inspire Believe

Happy Friday!

Quick post to share another Teacher card.
I pieced together my patterned paper from scraps I still had on my desk from my previous make. I never cut into a new sheet for this card.
I used a set from My Creative Time (Write On) for the sentiment. I created a "clipboard feel" by using a wood grain background stamp also from My Creative Time onto a piece of kraft card stock. I used a clip embellishment from Tim Holtz to clip together.

I rounded the corners and all is done!:)))

I am sharing at the following places: Lil Patch Crafty Friends - Anything Goes, D.L. Art - June Linky, Creative Fingers Challenge - Anything Goes, Crafty Creations - Anything Goes,  Four Crazy Chicks - Crazy Egg/ATG.

Thank you for visiting! Have a fabulous Friday!

You're The Best Teacher

Hey There!

I am on my way to knocking out those teacher cards for my son. I have several to make, and I want them to be different. As I talked about in yesterday's post. I have this paper pack I have had for years, and it just goes on forever! Reality is, I have one child and only so many school years left, so I am trying to use it all up as much as I can. I am not a waster, so I use and save all my scraps. Ha! I then recycle anything that can't be used.

More than anything it's fun to pull out your supplies and challenge yourself to use them in various ways.

I used a tag dye and added a scrap of the bus patterned paper to the top. Really working on that stash in multiple ways ha!
I used the same sentiment builder from School Basics by Mint Motif and an apple dye from MCT. The Teacher dye was from PTI. It was lots of fun building this card for a teacher who deserves it very much. Not many Middle School teachers get the appreciation that the elementary level does and I think they sometimes need it more. They teach roughly 150 students per day.

I am sharing at: Lil Patch Crafty Friends - Anything Goes, D.L. Art - May Linky, Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes,  Creative Fingers Challenge - Anything Goes, Crafty Creations - Anything Goes, Die Cuttin' Divas - Anything Goes with a die cut, Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes, Wednesday's Creative Challenge Blog - Fussy & Fancy, Four Crazy Chicks - Crazy Egg/ATG

Thank you for allowing me to share my creations with you!

Thank You Teacher

Hello all~

I am sure many of you are enjoying a shorter "work" week.  I feel like May has gone in a blink. In fact, I feel the year has really started sailing by fast. I think I am getting old!

Well, the end of May brings that time to thank teachers for helping our kids grow. My son had an amazing set of teachers this year, and I feel very fortunate because I was very concerned about middle school. He just got lucky to land on such an amazing team.

I used a sketch to jump start my inspiration from Viva La Verve. I have a ton of school themed papers that many of you have seen numerous times on my blog. I am not sure I will ever use the end of this patterned paper, but I will try. The good thing about having so many different teachers over the years, they don't know or care how long you have had it. I am always determined to use my resources. You will see a few more cards this week (hopefully) using it and I'll find ways to change it up.
It's not showing up very well, but the red card stock is embossed with an ABC embossing folder. It gives the card some visual interest and texture.  The stamps are Mint Motif (no longer available) called School Basics,  but I love it. It has many sentiment builders.

Here is the sketch:

Thanks Coach Card 2

Hey y'all!

{Edit to Note...I am honored that this was selected as Top 3 at My Time To Craft on June 2, 2018.}

As promised from yesterday's post, I am back with another thank you card and I did manage to use those same papers and just came up with a different design.
I used Gray cardstock as my base adhering the felt stripped paper down the center leaving a border of card stock just on the left and right side. From there I just staked and stamped and added my baseball theme goodies. Just like yesterday, I stuck with the school colors of Navy and Gray.

I am joining in at: Hiding in my Craft Room - Masculine/Father's Day. CardzTV - Anything Goes, Brown Sugar Challenge Blog - Masculine or Father's Day, D.L. Art - May Linky, International Art and Soul - All About Boys or Men, 613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes with a Twist mainly blue, Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes, Pile It On - Sports/Hobbies, My Time To Craft - Circles (More than one)

I thought I would leave you with a picture of him making a pitching debut in a middle school game.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a Fantastic Friday and a Fabulous Weekend!

Thanks coach

Hello! I'm popping in to share a card I created for my son's Middle School Coach! The school year is wrapping up and the sports season is wrapping up as well. My son is on three baseball teams this season. Middle School ball, Travel ball, and Little League.  He has two coaches for Middle School, so I will be sharing another card make in the next day or so.

My crafting time is so limited these days, so I always have a plan in my head to "just do simple", but then I start pulling out all my supplies and it keeps layering and layering. Ha!
I started this card by making an A2 base from gray cardstock. I don't have a lot of masculine papers in my collection, so I always reach for this velour strip paper I have had for years. I actually used it to make my son's thank you notes from his 6th birthday and he is now 12 1/2. (Not sure how that happened, but I blinked is all) It has made the perfect paper to use in many of the baseball cards I've made over the years. The school colors are Navy and Gray.  I'm sure I will be using it in the card for the other coach, so don't be surprised if you see it again.

I adhered the patterned paper to the card base. I used some layered mat stack die cuts from PTI to hold my focal image. I stamped a baseball and thought it would be cute to make it into a ribbon.  I had a scrap of Navy ribbon, so I attached to a piece of gray cardstock and embellished with white enamel dots.  I stamped the sentiment and tucked it up under the ribbon panel.

One down and another to go.

I am joining in at: A Gem of a Challenge - It's a Man's World, Hiding in my Craft Room - Masculine/Father's Day. CardzTV - Anything Goes, Brown Sugar Challenge Blog - Masculine or Father's Day, D.L. Art - May Linky, International Art and Soul - All About Boys or Men, 613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes with a Twist mainly blue, Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes.

I thought I would share some pictures of my son and one I captured of them standing on the fence cheering and chanting during their at bat.
Anybody who has followed me long enough or follows me on facebook knows I refer to my son as the short stack. This picture says it all. He is the little guy among all those big guys. This team is 6-8 graders, but to his left #22 is in 6th. He is actually on the tall side for his age where mine is the opposite end of the height spectrum.
Thank you for stopping in! Have a terrific Thursday!
~Tammy~
