2016- Happy New Year {The Kraft Journal}

Hello Friends!

This is a bitter sweet post for me! I've been with The Kraft Journal a few years and The Kraft Journal has decided to close it's doors, but The Kraft Outlet remains open. They have been wonderful to me over the years and they are very FAMILY focused and have been a dream to design for. 2016 also will be a new beginning for me as I decide to head back to school and I will find less time to craft myself in the coming year as I concentrate on school.

So for my last care in 2015 and for The Kraft Journal,
I began this New Year's card with a card base of Brown Kraft cardstock. I pieced together patterned papers from a designer paper pack and joined them by wrapping around a length of Natural Twill Tape and tying in a bow further embellishing with a double bow made from Black Baker's Twine which I topped with an Icon Flatback
Using Buff Ivory Cardstock, I cut a rounded stitched rectangle using a die and distressed edges with inks. I cut out 2016 from Blackboard Stockpaper adding to the rectangle embellishing with three black gems followed by stamping Happy New Year in black ink. Lastly, I die-cut an arrow and popped it up facing the year.  All other stamps and dies are by My Creative Time

It truly has been wonderful designing for The Kraft Journal using fabulous products for The Kraft Outlet the last several years.

Trendy Twine - Thanks

Good Sunday Morning to you!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

I am over on the Trendy Twine Blog today. It's a little bare under the tree, and it's time to think about thank you notes to show appreciation for those thoughtful gifts. I have one to share today featuring Candy Cane Trendy Twine.
I started with a red card base and then pieced together two patterned papers from my stash.  I took a length of Candy Candy Trendy Twine where the papers met.
Next, I die-cut a tree from patterned paper and trimmed it with some more Candy Candy Trendy Twine adding to the left side of the card front by adhering with foam adhesive. I stamped my sentiment adding a Candy Candy Trendy Twine triple bow to the top.

Trendy Twine - Tis The Season

Good Morning!

I am over on the Trendy Twine Blog today sharing these cute tags I created which I trimmed out using Candy Cane Trendy Twine

A quick and easy gift is to fill some festive goblets with some yummy chocolates (I used Hershey Kisses here) and put in a cute celo bag and dressed up with a darling tag which I added to a red satin bow.
I layered a tag and used Candy Cane Trendy Twine to trim the edge of the tag.  I used the Create A Critter Cartridge at 2 1/2 to cut the Penguin. The sentiment is also from the same cartridge. It makes a cute little gift for a neighbor or hostess.

Love & Happiness {The Kraft Journal}

Good Monday to you!

We have a Take Your Pick challenge at The Kraft Journal this week. I chose snowman, green, glitter, and ribbon. I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock where I added a rectangle layer of green and white snowflake patterned paper to the center.

Next, I took a length of red seam binding ribbon and wrapped it around the left side of the card front making a fussy bow adding in some white seam binding, A bow was made of Red Baker's Twine which was embellished further with a green button and layered as a topping to the ribbon treatment.

I die-cut a circle from white cardstock and stamped the sweet little snowman from Peachy Keen Stamps directly to the circle next paper piecing the hat and scarf adding a touch of glitter to the hat. I added three black pearls for buttons.  I stamped the sentiment (My Pink Stamper) in black ink. For a final embellishing touch, I placed a few enamel dots on the card.

Here is your choices for The Take Your Pick:

Trendy Twine - Holiday Gift Candy Tin

It's my turn to share a gift giving idea with you on the Trendy Twine blog today.  I am showcasing the Candy Tin, but not using it for candy. :) This is the season of gift gift giving.
I took some pictures to show you how I started out. I added some adhesive to a gift card and stuck it in the bottom of the tin to hold the gift card in place.
 Next I added a festive bar of handmade soap on top.
If you are not a crafty person or limited on supplies this alone makes an adorable way to give a gift card and gift as you see below, but it's always fun to dress up further of course. :)
I trimmed it out with Candy Cane Trendy Twine adding a triple bow to the corner embellished with a red gem to the center.

Snowman tag

Hello Friends!

I have been invited to an ornament exchange tomorrow, so here is the cute tag I made to go outside the gift bag. I think it turned out pretty cute.:) I do love snowmen!
 I just felt like he was saying "Rejoice" with his little stick arms! :)
The Tag and Snowman are Silhouette files.  My papers are pieces leftovers from DCWV Christmas stack. The snowflakes are from My Creative Time. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
I added some crinkled seam binding to the top and the amazing Candy Cane Trendy Twine (on sale) by the way which is embellished with a green button.

Be Jolly - {The Kraft Journal}

Good day to you!

This week at The Kraft Journal, we have a Santa or Snowman challenge.  I chose to design a card with Santa on it.

I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover weight cardstock onto which I added a piece of patterned paper that was still on my desk leftover from a previous Kraft Journal project. I took a white doily and cut it in half adding it to the bottom and top of the card front where I stamped Be Jolly (Paper Smooches) in black ink on the bottom portion.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a Santa from white, blush, red, and Blackboard Stock Paper. After I assembled him, I popped him on the card front using foam adhesive for added dimension.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Santa or Snowman creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet Store.

Happy Birthday 6 {The Kraft Journal}

Good Monday to you!

{Sale Alert at Bottom of POST}

Hard to believe November is almost over. Tomorrow we move into the last month of the year. Wow!  The holidays are moving in on me like a freight train. My plan is to stay nice and laid back this year. No big plans. I will be missing my family tremendously.

This week we have a color challenge at The Kraft Journal. I do hope you join us!

I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. I took some green graph designer paper and added it to the bottom of the card adding a trim of Orange Baker's Twine. In the upper left corner I die-cut a circle (Spellbinders) and trimmed the edges. I die-cut and layered a 6 (PTI) using Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock and solid green designer paper. I formed a tiny double bow using more Orange Baker's Twine adding it to the bottom of the number.  Using my Cricut, I cut out a lion using the Create a Critter 2 Cartridge followed by paper piecing him, and embellished his party hat with some glitter before mounting with foam adhesive.
I stamped "Happy Birthday" (Paper Smooches) on orange cardstock that I cut into a banner adding to the lower left of the card. Last I added a few orange and green sequins for further embellishing.

Here are the colors to use this week!
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Color Inspiration creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Trendy Twine - Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Turkey Day Friends!

I hope you have a day that is blessed with family and friends as you reflect on what you have to be thankful for.

Now on to my silly card. A few of the Design Team gals at Trendy Twine are doing a group post today.

I say silly card because I created a Pilgrim squirrel with googly eyes and a button nose!
I started with my favorite Brown Kraft Coverweight cardstock for the base. I layered some various patterned papers that were on my desk from previous makes. I added four brads to the corners. Talk about dusting off those old supplies.:)

I took a length of Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the brown gingham patterned paper several times and tied in a triple bow embellishing with a brown button and a stamped tag using APB- Hello Fall Planner Stamps.

I used my Cricut and the Create A Critter 2 cartridge to cut this adorable squirrel.  I couldn't resist giving him some funny googly eyes and a button nose.

Basketball - Thanks

Hello friends,

I am sure most of you are starting to get busy with your Thanksgiving preparations.

Today, I have a quick CAS card to share with you. Yes, this girl made a CAS card that took me under 15 minutes to make (and part of that was travel time to the basement where my Cameo is housed).

My son recently had a birthday, and on his actual birthday he and a buddy went to a Washington Wizards basketball game. These two played basketball together last year, so naturally, he wanted me to make his friend a basketball card to thank him for going with him and for the gift he received.

I started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock base which is not visually seen from the front. I covered the Kraft base with patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket that I have had FOREVER! Digging into my leftover scraps, I found a piece of solid green cardstock (pulling the green from the patterned paper) and added to the center. I die-cut the word thanks in black from a My Creative Time set.

Next, my trip to the basement to cut the basketball out using my Cameo. I have a very thin left over piece of Orange Cardstock and I added that to give a border on the green cardstock (want not waste not). I added the basketball to the center adding the sentiment just below to complete this very simple card.

Hopefully his friend will like it and remember their special time to their first NBA game.  Here is a picture of the boys and their basketball coach watching the game intently.

I am sharing at Amusing Challenge - Thanks.

A little humor before I sign off.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Ho Ho Ho - Merry Christmas

Hello!

I am just not ready to think about Christmas yet...I have Turkey on the brain this week, but our challenge at The Kraft Journal is CAS - Christmas.

I started with an A2 card base of Brown Kraft Coverweight Cardstock. Next plaid patterned paper was cut as a mat and a length of Merry Christmas satin ribbon was added before adhering the mat to the card base.

I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge to cut the words Ho Ho Ho where I adhered them to the left side of the card front.

I used Buff Ivory Cardstock and Light Kraft Cardstock along with brown and red cardstock from my scrap box, to die-cut and paper piece a reindeer which is also from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge. Before adhering with foam adhesive, I tied a small bow from Red Baker's Twine around the deer's neck to finish my Christmas card. I had to sit on my hands to keep from adding buttons or sequins. :)

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your CAS - Christmas creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet Store.

Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Lesley!

Today we are celebrating Lesley's birthday (Owner of Annie's Paper Boutique and home of Trendy Twine) The Trendy Twine Design Team gals got together and made special birthday projects for her.
Happy Birthday Lesley!

Since Lesley has a fall birthday, I created a fall inspired birthday card for her! I used a Kraft card base and papers from Provocraft. The stamped pumpkin and Leaf are from APB Hello Fall Planner Stamp Set.
As for the sentiment I used, it can be found at DeNami Design. I took a length of fabulous Orange Truffle Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the card front tying in a double bow embellishing with a button.  At the top of the pumpkin, I created a fussy bow embellishing further with a fall button, more awesome Orange Truffle Trendy Twine and a stamped tag as mentioned with one of those cute stamps from Hello Fall.
Here are the wonderful products from Annie's Paper Boutique I used today!
