Good Tuesday Morning!
Unfortunately, I find myself in need of a few sympathy cards this week. As stated before, it's one of those cards I intend to make ahead, but somehow don't get around to doing it. They are just hard for me to make, and I would rather not think about having the need for one. This week, I need two.
So, with a little help today from Retro Sketches for inspiration...here is my first card. The other will be in the works shortly.
I started with a card base of Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock which has been embossed. I distressed the edges with Vintage Photo ink. The patterned paper is from Graphic 44. The sentiment (Stampabilities) is stamped on a die-cut circle using Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock. The circle die is from My Creative Time. I had a chipboard butterfly that I painted and distressed finally adding some chunky glitter before adding it to my card front. I added a few embellishing touches by adding small Kraft pearls to the circle and a satin rose to the center of the butterfly.
The challenge at Retro Sketches is to use a sketch of your choice from their archives. I chose Retro Sketch #56.
Thank you for stopping in. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Great take on the Retro Sketch and love the soft colors!
I agree.. sympathy cards are so hard to make. Sorry you're finding yourself in need of two of them right now. This is beautiful. Love the pretty embossing and paper. The banner strip, butterfly, and button are really pretty. Love the combo of kraft with the cream base.

Making sympathy cards is never easy. I'm so sorry you had to make two recently. This card is absolutely beautiful though, love the softness and that butterfly. Hugs!
I'm so sorry that you need them :(
The patterns & embossing couldn't be more soothingly perfect - I really love that butterfly. Somehow butterflies are one of my go-to images for sympathy cards - they just seem so peaceful & appropriate!
So very pretty and elegant! Love the butterfly! Am sorry to hear you need two of these types of cards recently. I'm sure they will be appreciated!
Lovely card, Tammy & perfect way to express sympathy!
Very, very beautiful, and surely provided soothing consolation for the recipients.
