The Kraft Journal 136 CAS Back To School!

Happy Monday Morning to you!

{I am tickled that this card was featured at Link Up Tuesday on 9/3/13, Winner at The Pink Elephant 9/11/13}

{The blog went from not being busy the last week to extremely busy the last few days. For my Paper Sweeties Back to School card click here and for The Ribbon Reel White on White click here}

I am so happy to be back designing with The Kraft Journal again!  I have brushed off the dust and  I am back at it with a new challenge for you which in some ways might be considered a "fail". I was just so excited to be back designing using all the goodies from The Kraft Outlet that it's not as "simple" as one considers for CAS! But, It really was a simple card and took me less than 20 minutes to complete which is huge!

So let's get started! :-))))

For today's Clean and Simple Challenge,  I started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight Base which I added some patterned paper from my scrap box. Next I added a Library Pocket to the front dressing up a bit with a piece of coordinating patterned paper.  I wrapped a length of Black and White Baker's Twine which I tied a Round Metal Tag stamped with a delicate apple in the center from DeNami Design Stamps. A sentiment from Unity's Smarty Pants on the outside of the pocket completes the finishing touches for the Library Pocket.
All that is left to complete the card is to add a Library Card to the pocket and dress it up with some punched apples and stamps which are a combination from Unity Smarty Pants, My Craft Lounge Bookworm, and an apple from DeNami Design Stamps!
I hope you will play along with our Clean and Simple challenge this week at The Kraft Journal.  All those that participate in our challenges for the month will have a chance to win a $15.00 gift certificate from The Kraft Outlet....and you also get a chance to be considered for The Feature Me Friday artist post on The Kraft Journal blog! How Cool is that?

I am alson linking up at: Just Because Linky Party - Anything Goes, Simon Says Stamp- Anything Goes,  Link Up Tuesday - Linky Party, The Pink Elephant - Numbers, Word Art Wednesday -Curtain Call: Back to school.

Again, thanks for stopping by! It's a pleasure to be back designing again for The Kraft Journal!

Hi Tammy!
You are absolutely RIGHT ON about our DT struggling with CAS. I look at your card, and it's absolutely darling! But, simple....for me, yeah, but when I compare it to what some people consider CAS, that's why I feel like I failed. I know I added WAY too many elements to my card, and that it's not really CAS, but....hey - we tried, right? LOL Although, I know I'm not as bad as some people. I've seen cards that literally have like $20 worth of Prima flowers on them. I don't know how people can afford to design like that. Anyway, I'm rambling!
Thanks for sharing this at WAW - I always LOVE having you share. Have an awesome week!

I love all the card based upon the "Back to school theme".It's something typical American to create a card for this occasion. Such a sweet idea! And your card is beautiful!
