Happy Easter

Hi!

I am falling short on my Easter Designs this year, and I am not sure how I could have been so neglectful, but I have one to share today!

I started by cutting two horizontal strips of patterned paper both rescued from my scrap box. (I am convinced it multiplies at night) and adhered them to my Regal Rose card base. A row of stars was die cut in gray then horizontally applied near the top edge of the card face then embellished with some green pearls by Martha Stewart. I stamped the Happy Easter Sentiment from Wilson Designs Lacey Lovelies in Charcoal gray in the upper right corner of my card.
I wrapped a length of red, gingham ribbon horizontally around my card front and tied it in a bow.  I embellished it with a green button which was laced and tied with a double hemp twine bow.
After dusting off the ol' Cricut lately, I cut this adorable egg from the Easter 2010 cartridge and added some microflake glitter to the cutouts dressing it up further with some paper roses.  To further tie in the star border at the top of the card, two stars were cut using my nestabilities running one through my crimper. After stacking them I tucked them behind the egg to complete this Easter Card.

I found inspiration for this card at the Color Throwdown.

Hope you have a Fantastic Saturday! I will be back tomorrow with my first Design Team Post for the Cupcake Craft Room!  Hope you will pop back by to see what I have created!

Thinking of you...and some news....

Hi!

I have a quick share today~

I started this card by taking a piece of textured blue cardstock by Bazzil and layering on my Kraft card base. Dipping into my Lost and Found Portobello Road papers by My Mind's Eye I added a vintage book print layer to the blue.  I then hand-cut a pennant from the same collection adding it to the lower half of my card face dressing it up with some pearls.  Just above the hand-cut pennant a cut doily was adhered. A length of seam binding ribbon was added horizontally across my card front and tied in a fussy bow and embellished with some twine and a corduroy button.
A tag was created and stamped with flourishes from Waltzingmouse Stamps and sentiment from Papertrey Ink. A metal key was applied as a decorative embellishment as inspired by the Color Combo Galore Photograph (see Below).  For a further decorative touch, more pearls were added to dress up this fancy little tag.  Lastly, two yellow gingham, checked tea cups were stacked and added to the card front again drawing inspiration from the photograph. Something about doilies and tea cups just seem to go together don't you think?

As mentioned, my inspiration for this card comes from Color Combination Galore.

The Ribbon Carousel has an Anything Goes Challenge So I am joining the fun!
***Edit to note that I just woke up this Friday Morning to find that I am The Feature Me Friday Artist over at The Kraft Journal today!!! A big WooHoo! I am so honored!  If you have a minute, please stop by The Kraft Journal.

I hope you have a lovely day! Thanks for peeking!

Howdy!

Howdy Partners!

**Well, a Yee-Haw....I'm tooting to say THIS CARD made TOP THREE at The Kraft Journal I am truly honored**

I have a little "Western Flair" for you today totally inspired by The Kraft Journal.
I started with taking pinking shears and trimming a piece of confetti cream cardstock. Using Kraft ink I took some images from a set called Happy Trails by The Angel Company onto the confetti cream cardstock. I created a pennant banner from a piece of red checked, gingham patterned paper and applied to the right of my card front.  I then wrapped the whole thing horizontally several times with some off white lace followed by some May Arts red hemp twine embellished with a flower button tied off in a bow.
I cut a pocket in Kraft cardstock using my Cricut Old West cartridge and inked the edges in white craft ink. The pocket was then filled with items such as die cut boot, rope, a gold glittered chipboard star embellished with a computer generated sentiment tag.

I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes and Ribbon Carousel: Anything Goes

That's it for me today! A little Western Flair with some lace thrown in too! :-)  As always, I truly appreciate you popping by!

You are special

Has the weather been a yo yo in your corner of the world like it has mine?  It's cold, it's hot, it's cold, it's warm. We didn't get snow this year, and I think we truly escaped winter, but my poor little one who was born in Hawaii was a bit bummed to not see a real winter or play in the snow. To him, the "cold" we have had which was mild was cold because he's only ever worn shorts everyday of his life till now, but I think we did truly escape it where I lived. We did wake up to quite a chill considering it had been in the upper 80's a few days ago.

Well, I know you didn't come here to read about the weather in Northern Virginia!
I started by stamping a beautiful butterfly image on yellow gingham, check patterned paper and attaching a solid baby blue strip of cardstock trimmed with pinking shears to the right edge of the patterned paper then adhering it to my Kraft card base. I then added a doily to the center stamping the butterfly image one more time directly onto the doily. A length of lavender crochet trim was added vertically to the ride side of my card face. A fussy seam binding bow was added to the upper right corner embellished with a lavender button, twine and memory pin.

A blue packaging tag was added with a heartwarming vintage sentiment from Crafty Secrets. A butterfly was punched from Kraft cardstock and applied to the upper potion of the tag as well as a mini clothespin.

Next was the fun part of embellishing! A little side note: I am a recycling nut: I won't go into details, but I make sure anything that can be recycled is and if I can re-purpuse it first I do. From time to time I make my own embellishments, so I save those cereal boxes and fruit snack boxes. My friend, Laurel, taught me that cereal boxes are great for chipboard needs so she gets the credit and my praise!

Ok, back to the embellishment.  I took my cuttlebug postage die and cut it using a medium weight recycled cereal box, and ran it through my Big Shot. I painted it with some white craft paint set to dry then I distressed it using my handy dandy paper sander.  I punched a Martha Stewart butterfly from Kraft card stock and painted it using some lavender craft paint and touched it a bit with some white to give it a shabby feel.  I finished it off with some micro flakes glitter and applied the butterfly to the postage die and adhered to my card front for a finishing touch!
I was inspired to create this card by The Shabby Tea Room: Spring Has Sprung
USING LILAC, YELLOW, BLUE, KRAFT AND A BUTTERFLY!
The Pink Elephant: Butterflies
Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge: A little of this and that!
Moxie Fab: Don't Throw It Away
I am also super excited to share that this card made Top 3 at The Kraft Journal

Thanks so much for coming by and visiting for a bit!

Hello Friend

Hello!

**Woohoo Moment This card was a winner at Inspired By Stamping 3/28/12**

I hope your Tuesday is starting off Terrific!

I started this card by adhering an aqua, polka-dotted, patterned paper along with a soft pink layer trimmed with pinking shears to a piece of Kraft cardstock. I then added a strip of turquoise Damask paper from the Cupcake Craftroom to the right side of my card face. A row of raspberry felt hearts were die cut.  A section was applied to the top center of my card adding some beautiful pearls. A heart doily was inked in tumbled glass and adhered to the card front.
I wrapped some raspberry twine around the card face just above the lace trim and scalloped die cut that has been given a touch of paint. A Wilson Designs "Hello Friend" sentiment tag was applied to my bow and finished and dressed up with a raspberry flower button!

A burlap cutout was adhered to the center of the card and garnished with various diecut felt flower embellishments!

Color Combos Galore Inspiration Board

Hi!

**If you're looking for my Wilson Designs Release Post Frame project click here**

I was really inspired by a sight that is totally new to me and apparently I have been under a rock because it's not a new inspiration board sight.  I have had it marked to make time to create something with these beautiful colors and theme. The photo can be seen below!
I was immediately inspired by the flowers in the photograph, so I used some gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye Market Street that had a beautiful floral pattern.

I started the card as mentioned by pulling a collection of papers from My Mind's Eye.  I stamped my sentiment from Wilson Designs Everything's Owlright on Kraft card stock and cut into a banner. Die cutting a scalloped circle in some pink patterned paper, I nested a vanilla circular die cut on top of that and placed to the left of my sentiment banner. I paper pieced a cupcake from Wilson Designs Strawberry Lemonade garnishing with a strawberry also from that collection.
To complete this card, the lower panel was dressed up with some sweet buttons and twine!

I found inspiration for this birthday card from: Color Combos Galore: Focus on Theme
Aren't those colors so pretty!!!

I hope you enjoyed this little birthday card!

I have not had a chance to share, but this card made The Shabby Tea Room Winner last week! I was so excited and honored!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Wilson Designs: March 2012 Release Project Introducing Snap Happy!

Welcome to the last day for the Wilson Designs March release.  I am here today to share my altered project with you!
I took an unfinished wood frame at Michael's for $1.00! To get started, I sanded and painted a base coat of antique white. After that dried, I added a layer of chocolate brown paint. As you can see I painted another layer of antique white, and sanded and distressed the frame down to some of the brown to give it an aged look.
It was super fun to stamp the various camera images and fussy cut them out to decorate the frame. I love having making something to showcase the picture of my beloved grandmother in her bathing beauty years. The film strip is so cute.  I cut and applied in a wavy pattern to the frame on a diagonal. I stamped and cut the photo corners which fit the corners perfectly. For a dressy touch,  I cut a few felt flowers sewing a button to the center.

Now it's time to introduce to you Snap Happy!!!

Hello Sunshine

Hello there!!!

**A Yippee Moment!!! I am so excited this card was chosen as Top Three at The Kraft Journal 3/27/12 as well as Top Three at Little Scrap Pieces 3/23/12**

If things weren't more exciting this card was also chosen to make me The Featured Artist at The Kraft Journal 3/30/12

It's Friday, and I am sure I don't have to tell you that huh??? J

I was really inspired by the inspiration photograph at The Shabby Tea Room (photo below). I just started rummaging through my crafty things, and I had a ball coming up with the creation I am sharing today.

I started with a Kraft card base and rounded the corners. I am sure you could never guess this, but I {heart} Kraft! Those who visit me regulary see it in my projects a lot!

I added some red gingham check patterned paper to three quarters of my card face adding this fun circular patterned paper by My Mind's Eye to the bottom also rounding the corners. I choose this paper because it reminded me of one of the buttons in the photograph.

I then wrapped my card front horizontally with some vintage seam binding and tied in a fussy bow adding a paper rose to the center trimming with a bit of twine. I added a heart doily to the left card face trimming the left portion off.

I stamped the bird from Unity's A Pocket Full of...KOM and fussy cut and distressed the edges around the bird and adhered him to the doily with some foam mounting tape.  A pennant banner was created and attached to some rustic twine and strung diagonally across the card front and tied off in a bow. A length of beautiful lace trim was added to the top.  All that is left is to create a sentiment which I generated on my computer!

I was greatly inspired by The Shabby Tea Room: Pennant Party
The Kraft Journal: Anything Goes as mentioned I {heart} Kraft
The Pink Elephant: Get Krafty
Little Scrap Pieces: Happy...Well, this card makes me happy, and so does the inspiration photo!

It's also Friends with Flair over on the Unity Blog, so be sure to hop on over to see what all the blog hop participants have created for you.  Leaving some love this weekend could win you some Unity goodness!

Wilson Designs March 2012 Release Day 3

Hi!

It's Day 3 of the Wilson Designs countdown! That means just one more day till the full reveal!

I REALLY had fun with this card.  I started with a Kraft base, embellished with some fun, bright patterned papers, then added crochet trim to the lower portion of the card.

A length of seam binding ribbon was wrapped vertically around the left half of the card, tied in a fussy bow, then adorned with a button.  I added the "Oh Snap" tag which is the starter sentiment for this card. I made a pocket for the center of the card and stamped it with one of the images that will be released in tomorrow's set. Inside the pocket, you will find an oval,  die cut doily peeking out with a vintage camera stamped in a lighter ink. "I miss your face" was stamped over the vintage camera to complete the message.  I added a bit of shimmer to my pocket with a glass glitter gold star and button.  I cut two scalloped hearts from felt and nested them together adding a pink button for a finishing touch!
That's all I have for you today, but I will be back tomorrow with my final project and the reveal. Please be sure to stop by the rest of this talented team to see what they have cooked up for you all today.

I am also adding this to The Kraft Journal's Challenge this week: Anything Goes and The Pink Elephant: Get Krafty! Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge...All Snippets on this make! :-))))

Thanks for spending some time with me! I hope you have a Terrific Thursday!

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon!

**This is my 2nd post of the day, for my Wilson Designs Stamps Day 2 Release card scroll down or click here**

I have a little card to share.   It was one of those days where I grabbed a little of this and a little of that. It was also one of those days where it didn't turn out anything like I visioned it, but I am ok with that.

I started this card using Kraft card stock and added a layer of textured cream patterned paper to frame my card.  I then added a strip of aqua patterned paper to the right side of my card front.
A doily was added to the main panel followed by some rickrack and scalloped trimmings topped with a strip of patterned paper.   Some twine was wrapped multiple times around the center and tied in a bow.
I die cut the image from a vintage book. I intended to only use this as a background paper, but I actually liked the image to use alone as a focal point. I had some black lace trim in my stash and added to the bottom of the vintage book print image.

I punched a heart in Kraft card stock which was run through my crimper to give a corrugated cardboard effect. Some paint was added to the heart for a shabby look finished off with a button.  To dress up the card a bit, a fussy seam binding bow with stick pin and paper rose was added above the vintage book print image. I completed the card with a sentiment cut into a waving banner.  Two tiny caramel pearls were added to each end of the sentiment banner.

Inspiration for this card came from:
The Pink Elephant: Get Krafty: Use Kraft on your project
The Kraft Journal:Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wilson Designs March 2012 Release Day 1!

Hello There Lovelies!

So, I am back with you today for my first project of the week for the newest release for Wilson Designs.

For my focal point, I used this darling new image and one of the sentiments you will find in this cute new set being released this month. I stamped the heart film strip in a pretty lavender on a die cut adding a bit of vintage tea stain to the edges. I inked my sentiment in black, to make it stand out to the recipient.
Added some large scallops to the lower portion using some pretty patterned paper and vintage book print. To the left portion of my card a cream grosgrain ribbon was added embellished with a paper rose stick pin.

Don't forget to drop by the rest of the Wilson Design Team today for some release inspiration.  Leaving comments on all of our blogs increases your chances to be a winner.

Kim (Owner)

Have a great day and be sure to come back tomorrow for day 2 count down to the new release.
See you tomorrow.
