Simple Blessings and Fascinating Fridays

Hi!

**Wahoo Friends with Flair Blog Hop Winner**

September has flown by and here we are at the last Friday
of the month! I was able to create  a card to join up with
the Friends with Flair on the Unity Blog and it also happens to
qualify for their Monthly challenge they are running Falling Leaves.
I am also joining in with CR84FN for their color challenge.
Gasp, I just realized I must not be feeling well because
I completed this card without adding a button somewhere
on here. :-)
I started out with all scraps! Yay! Feels so good to
work from that pile. I had a Kraft card base
just waiting to be used, and some brown gingham
paper perfect for this color challenge.

I diecut the doily from Vintage Book print, and I
do mean vintage. This book is about to disintegrate,
I picked it up in the "last minute bargain pile"
at a thrift shop in Hawaii. It's the pile about
to go in the dumpster and you have about
one minute to grab it.  It's falling apart and,
the lady couldn't figure out why on
earth I was so happy to have it.

Next, I stamped and fussy cut two leaves from the
Simple Blessings stamp set and stamped
the other right onto the doily.  (The Simple Blessings set is on sale
right now) I love this set!!!

I finished off by creating a panel for my sentiment and I added
a strip of pattern paper to the bottom. Last, but not least, I
added some ribbon and braided raffia!

And Now....
I am happy to introduce our next Fascinating Friday Feature over on the Paperie Designs Blog is none
other than Ms. Amy Sheffer of Pickled Paper Designs. Please hop on over to Paperie Designs Blog
and learn a little more about Amy and her wonderful designs.  Please leave her some love
and let her know you stopped by to read her feature.

If you made it to the end of this post, YOU ROCK!
Have a wonderful day!

Happy Thanksgiving PDCC and Papercraft Star Style

Hi!

Well, I am slowly knocking out my Thanksgiving cards thanks to some
good challenges for motivation, but I really need to focus on
Halloween! Yikes, I have only made one card this year and that is it!
Still very busy with projects at the house, so that is taking focus.

Using the colors from the PDCC
and a sketch from Papercraft Star
That's how I came to put this Thanksgiving Card together.  I used some
fabulous patterned paper from a scrap pad I have had for some time called
Pumpkin Plaid by Provo Craft.  (I found the coordinating
falling leaves patterned paper in my scrap box Yay!)

I am also playing along with Tuesday Throwdown Fall theme!

The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment and fun little leaves and pumpkin
are all from DeNami Designs. You can find the yummy buttons
there too!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Friends with Flair Meets Vintage White

Hi Ya!

It's Friday and I am joining up with Unity's Friends with Flair this week inspired by The Shabby Tea Room's Vintage White Challenge! The challenge is to create a project using WHITE OR CREAM, KRAFT, BROWN OR BLACK.
Look at this amazing inspiration photograph!
An angled close up!

I went to my trusty scrap box and found everything I needed!  I chose images from the Unity KOM 07/09. There are so many wonderful images in this set.
I was inspired by the oval mirror in the photograph, so that is
how I chose the layout for my focal image.
Next using a dainty doily, crochet trim, twine, and a flower for the finishing
touches makes this card all set for mailing!

Everything on this card came from my scrap box, so I am entering it into the lovely Jules Crafty Snippet Challenge. My scrap pile is NEVER ending,
so I appreciate Jules challenge each week making me dig there first! :-)

Hope you have a Fantastic Day!

Grateful for YOU!

Today is Friends with Flair on the Unity Blog! Make sure you stop by and check out all the participants! You could be the winner for just leaving some love. J

It's that time when you start to see pumpkins saying hello on porches and cooler temps start to creep into our days. This will be my first fall in 10 years.  Living in Hawaii we have warm and sunny 82 degree weather year round, so I welcome the beautiful change of season this year.

Hand Stamped Sentiments has a Fall Theme Challenge this week, so that jumped started my inspiration for todays creation.

I used the Unity Simple Blessings set and lots of various scraps to complete this card.

I hope you have a fantastic Friday!

DeNami Designs Theme Challenge Animals

Hello Friends!

(Edit to note this card Made DeNami Designs Top 3)

Today I wanted to share a card and tag I created for the latest DeNami Designs Theme Challenge: To create a project using animals.

Usually when I sit down to craft it is driven by my mood and time.  Today I was in a CAS kind of mood.  I had a fabulous scrap of pattern paper laying on my desk from Cosmo Cricket. Next I found a fabulous card base in my scrap box to match and here we are! J

I stamped the adorable owl images from the Petit Fours set multiple times in Groovy Guava, Vintage Sepia, Crushed Curry, and Stick Candy and punched them out with a 3/4" inch circle punch and attached to my pattern paper with dimensional adhesive.  I added the Thinking of You sentiment from the All Occasion stamp set.

I finished the card off by rounding the top corner and adding ribbon, twine and a button to the left side of my panel.

Next I created a simple little tag to dress up a Kraft bag. Again, CAS!  I used the DeNami Dot Circle Frame and the Small Scallop Circle and then following the theme of the card using an owl from the Petit Fours set.

I am going to also play along with Jules Crafty Snippet Challenge as my inspiration and all pieces were created from fine little scrappy snippets!
I hope you enjoyed this little set!
Thanks for visiting with me today!

Using the Smarty Pants set by Unity, I created a simple but fun little Back to School card, by stamping the Report Card on some blue graph pattern paper I had in my stash next stamping the Back 2 School distressed sentiment on the focal image. For a little more visual interested I added a punched apple and button.  Across the top, I stamped the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, TGIF stamp which I thought was so cute! I know I always counted the days till Friday when I was in school! :)

I added some fun little papers found in my scrap collection to my chocolate card base. I added a doily dyed in Riding Hood Red.  I then added a complementing striped Riding Hood Red twill ribbon finishing with a button and some twine. The Shabby Tea Room ~ Birthstones

Edit to note: This card made The Shabby Tea Room's Honorable Mention Cup of Tea! Yay! Thank you so much!

Hi there! Here today with a post for The Shabby Tea Room's challenge to create a card using the colors of your birthstone!

My birthstone is Amethyst!
I used a variety of goodness on my creation today! I started with a Kraft card base and the gingham paper is a free download from here.  I used the DeNami Designs Solid Decorative Crest stamped in my glue pad and doused in Martha Stewart Glitter. I cut a nested heart by spellbinders and then stamped The Heart from Season of Love by Waltzingmouse Stamps using the glue pad and adding glitter.
I used some flowers I have had forever from Prima! The rose bud are those **sniff sniff** being discontinued from Michael's. I added some lace trim and crinkle ribbon for a finishing touch.

I hope you have a Terrific Thursday!
