Snowy Wishes Day Two

Welcome back to day 2 of the stamp set by Wilson Designs Snowy Wishes!

I had so much fun with Kim's 'Snowy Wishes' set! I was getting antsy because I couldn't wait to post this!

Being a Florida girl and having lived in Hawaii for the last 9 years,  I thought at first that it might be a bit of a challenge to find inspiration for this wintry card. The shell bra got the gears turning....hmmm.

Just in case the shell bra wasn't enough to draw the eye to my 'hula snow girl' I stamped her onto some kraft paper and stuck her on with some foam mounted tape. I figured that this would bring her into the foreground and add some dimension. Let me know what you think.

I also gained some inspiration from the sand box toy's strewn across our back yard. Instead of snow at the bottom of the globe, I figured some authentic Hawaiian beach sand could take the tropical holiday theme to another level. (As cool as that sounds,  my son's sand box was way closer than the beach).

The photo doesn't do the one-off, hand woven by Tammy grass skirt justice, but it also adds some relief and dimension to the card.

I had so much fun with this project. Even though it's 85 degrees and sunny with the trade winds blowing at 10 to 15 knots (cue the Jimmy Buffett), the card definitely helped to get me into the Christmas spirit.
****************************************

I don't know about you, but things get hectic around the holidays and I need quick and simple!
This next card features a great way to use this set if you have to make a lot of cards quickly, but yet still stylish. I used our cute little snowman and snowflake to create a background using VersaMark ink. I then ran some ribbon across my stamped cardstock images. Using my Stampin' UP! Christmas punch, I punched my Jolly Wishes sentiment. I used the snowflake image again stamped in aqua on the ornament focal point. I punched two snowflakes added them to my card and there you have it I was done!

These stamp like a dream!!! Oh, and did I mention how much Fun??? There are many many possibilities with this release! You won't be disappointed!
Without further ado I introduce you to SNOWY WISHES!

Hi, I found my way here from Kim's site. I really like both of your cards. The beachy one is so much fun! And I love the way your background came out on the other one. Whenever I try to stamp a background design it never comes out that nice!

Oh, my gosh...how funny is that snowman card!! I live in FL so can relate! It's more like spring here now than autumn so it's hard to think pumpkins let along snowmen but this is darling...love the grass skirt, too!!
