DeNami Designs Product Spotlight - Congratulations Circle

Hello!

Are you in the mood for a non-tradional Baby card?  Hope so, because that is what I have to share with you today! :-) It's product spotlight day on the DeNami Blog, and we are spotlighting the Congratulations Circle, and it can by added to your shopping cart for a 10% savings for one week only.  As mentioned, I decided to make a Baby card, but use non-traditional colors. 

I was inspired by looking at a train sitting on my son's desk. You can see it peeking in the background in the picture. :-) Oh how I miss those Baby cuddly days. Seems just like yesterday. Anywho...I started with a red card base onto which I added a white embossed panel using the ABC's Embossing Folder.  The Small Baby Script was stamped in the lower right in red ink.  

I stamped the Congratulations Circle in red ink and used a scallop die to cut it out.  Next I stamped my elephant from the Safari Animal Set to the center of the circle and colored in with colored pencils and mineral spirits.  I then cut a banner from red cardstock and added it behind my focal image.  I die-cut a frame from gray cardstock and used the Dot Embossing Folder to give the focal section more texture and visual interest.

SFYTT - Teacher Thanks - Kyle's Kamp Thanks/Stats/photos

Good morning!

I can't believe it's the end of the school year. I know many have been out for weeks,  but we have a little over  a week of school left here, so I have to get to cracking on my year end teacher thank you cards. I can't even begin to describe how awesome my son's teacher was this year. He was super attached to her. He is not going to want to say goodbye. He keeps asking why she can't loop up next year. He's ready for summer, but not ready to say goodbye. 

I have had Reverse Confetti Class Act and Confetti Cuts in my possession and it has yet to see ink, so I thought this would be a good time to break them out. I followed the June SFYTT for inspiration.

I started with a Brown Kraft card base onto which I added my abc patterned paper.  I have really got my money's worth out of this sheet. I bought it when we lived in Hawaii, and I have used it on my son's pre-school teacher while living there, his Kindergarten teacher, 1st grade teacher, and now 2nd. I still have some of it left over. I have no idea who makes it either. I picked it up at a brick and mortar store while living there. Anywho, back to the card. I followed the sketch pretty closely adding a few die-cut stars and a scallop border trim.

Just For Him Challenge at The Kraft Journal

For this week's "Just For Him" challenge at The Kraft Journal, it's the perfect time to work on those "Father's Day" Day cards, but I took the opportunity to work on a card to thank one of our baseball coaches. We just want to see your masculine cards either using Kraft cardstock or products from The Kraft Outlet. 

I started with a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and matted a variety of papers to the kraft base. I added some Red Baker's Twine where the pieces met for some visual interest and added texture.  Using the Cricut's Sport's Mania cartridge, I cut two baseball bats from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and crossed them in the center of the card. I created a ribbon from stamps and dies from PTI's First Place Set and added that to the center. 

Lastly I die-cut the word Coach using my Big Shot from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and added to the bottom of the card.

DeNami Designs Bright Blossoms Blog Hop

Hello and welcome! Can you believe this is the final DeNami blog hop until fall?  We we are sending you off into summer with a theme of Bright Blossoms! I hope you'll hop along with us. By commenting on all of the participants blogs YOU could win one of two DeNami gift certificates.

Well, I saw bright and that is just what I ran with BRIGHT! I started with a Melon Pink cardstock base and added a piece of bright pink complimentary patterned paper down the center.

 On Kraft cardstock, I stamped one of the blooms from Summer Flowers in white pigment ink and heat set with white embossing powder. I used the leaf Summer Flower Leaves in the same manner. I then used Copic markers to color them in. I think it looks so pretty on the Kraft cardstock. 

Lastly I added one of my favorite sentiments, "Thanks a bunch".

With Deepest Sympathy

Hello Friends!

{Delighted this was a Seize the Sketch "Runner Up" on 6/10/14}

As you can see from the title, I had to make another Sympathy card. It's for my husband's Commander who just lost one of his parents. His co-workers have really been hit hard this last month with loss. So sad. 

I started with my favorite Kraft cardstock from The Kraft Outlet, then I matted some patterned paper after distressing the edges. I followed by adding another piece of orange and cream polka-dotted patterned paper to the card front at an angle. At the top, I took a length of pumpkin spice seam binding and wrapped it around and tied in a fussy bow adding a Sand Boutique Button and Natural Hemp Cord.

I stamped my sentiment on a piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock and made into a banner and distressed the edges with ink and distress tool. I had a chipboard dove in my stash and I gave it a spritz with a mister and sanded it down a bit.

I sought some inspiration at Seize The Sketch. Took some slight creative liberties. :-)

The Kraft Journal Water Water Everywhere!

Good Morning and Happy Monday Everyone!

For this week's challenge at The Kraft Journal, "Water Water Everywhere", I created a sweet little Ocean Inspired greeting.  

I started with a base from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock.  I trimmed another panel of white and embossed with a swirl background embossing folder and adhered to the card front. Next I die-cut some waves using a X-Cut Build a Scene from various shades of blue and added to the bottom portion of the card. For a decorative touch, I added a length of Natural Burlap Ribbon and an aqua button laced with Natural Hemp Cord. 

I stamped and die-cut the Orca whale from Paper Smooches Briny Blue and added to the center of the card. Lastly I used Paper Smooches Chit Chat and Briny Blue to stamp out various words to create a sentiment on Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock and placed them randomly at the top of the card.

Paper Sweeties Inspiration - Princess Party

It's June 1st...can't believe it! Half the year...gone. Wow!

It's time for a new inspiration at Paper Sweeties.   I stamped all my images in versamark ink, and then used either the hot pink or blue embossing powders to heat set them.

I actually used four different Paper Sweeties sets on this number! :-)))

Watch Us Wednesday - Baker's Twine 4th of July

Hey Friends,

{This is my 2nd post of the day, for my DeNami Designs Product Spotlight Post, click here}

Today, it's my turn to spotlight a product over on The Kraft Journal blog hosted by The Kraft Outlet.  Today I am featuring Baker's Twine. It has many uses. For today, I used it as a focal image. 

I die-cut a star from a Large Kraft Shipping Tag. Next I took a piece of scrap cardstock slightly smaller than the tag and I ran through my Xyron machine to make one side sticky and ran the Red Baker's Twine back and forth on the sticky scrap cardstock. When complete, I added it to the back of the tag where the window of the star is seen. I turned it so my twine was at an angle. 

Next, I decorated my tag with the 4th of July greeting, stamped and die-cut stars are added for a decorative touch. The greeting is from (My Craft Lounge and no longer in business) All, that was left was to finish the card as desired.  The Kraft Outlet's Buff Ivory Cardstock makes a wonderful base.

Graduation Gift Bag with DeNami Designs Product Spotlight

For the Product Spotlight today, I made a Graduation gift bag showcasing the Diploma stamp.  

This was easy to put together and I used the DeNami Gift Bag template. I added some texture by using  the Wire Fence embossing folder on a trimmed out light blue piece of cardstock which I adhered to the front.

I used the Scallop Circle stamp to frame my  Diploma focal point. I colored the diploma in with Copic Markers. Finishing touches include tying a black satin bow to the top and trimming the ends with pinking shears.

The Kraft Journal #173 - Clean And Simple

Hi There!

For this week's "Clean and Simple" challenge at The Kraft Journal, I started with a card base from Brown Kraft Cover Weight onto which I took another panel of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock slightly smaller than the card base and stamped the branch image from Paper Smooches Reflections using Versamark ink and clear embossing powder.  I used a die-cut to form a window in the middle.

I placed a piece of Buff Ivory Cardstock to the base and stamped the focal image using sstamps also from Paper Smooches Reflections and a sentiment from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler. To give the top panel dimension, I added foam adhesive to the back.  Lastly, I took a length of Orange Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card front tying off in a bow.

DeNami Baseball Chickie -Kyles Kamp Kick Off

Hey friends,

Last week, I shared a card on the DeNami blog, and if you missed it here it is.

I stamped the Retro Border at a diagonal in the center. Then I stamped the Demi Dot Circle Frame inside a white circle.  Next I added the Birthday Wishes circle followed by adding the Baseball Chickie from the All Star Chickies Stamp Set.  I colored the cutie with colored pencils and mineral spirits. I added the circle layers to a star and placed in the center of the card. I added a blue scallop border to the top and added texture by using the Stars Embossing Folder. Lastly, I added a little tab in the lower right corner stamping a baseball from the Sports Balls Stamp Set in the center in white ink.

Tonight is the opening ceremony for the Kyles Kamp Baseball Tournament my son will be participating in this weekend.   It will be held at the Washington Nationals Park. Tomorrow bright and early our kids will take the field in a Wood bat tournament (something these kids are not use to batting with) to raise money for pediatric cancer care and research. Thank you so much to those who have reached out and supported my son and his team. It goes to a wonderful cause!  My family has been touched by your support. My son gave me a message to share. "Thank you for helping me help other kids."

As it stands, they will have two games on Saturday, and one for sure on Sunday.  So if you get a moment, send some positive vibes for my little ballplayer and his teammates as they play a little baseball in the name of a boy, Kyle,  who is a cancer survivor and those who are fighting everyday!
