EEK!

Hi!

{Edit to note: This card made The Shabby Tea Room's Honorable Mention Cup of Tea! Yay! Thank you so much!}

Back with another Halloween card! I fell short of having time to make enough Halloween cards this year.

Personally, I am not a skull and crossbone kind of girl, but with the glitter goodness I made an exception! I actually really heart these embellishments from Making Memories.  I have enjoyed playing with them this year, and I even picked up some more packs, so don't be surprised if I play around with them next year.
I used inspiration from The Shabby Tea Room which was a Halloween theme using purple, black, orange, neutrals along with twine or raffia. Did you know you don't have to make a shabby card to play along there?
Inspiration photo by The Shabby Tea Room.
I started with black card stock, adding a cream layer, then adding a mixture of patterned papers followed by punching a scalloped border at the bottom. I used a candy image along the bottom from Crafty Secrets Costume Cuties.

I wanted to add raffia especially since I just scored a brand new sealed in the package bag from a thrift shop for 50 cents. It is a big bag too! I just couldn't make it work with the focal image cuts I already had, so twine it is! I cut a doily die cute from My Favorite Things and used distress inks to add the purple. I completed the card by adding a diecut circle to the center of my doily and embellishing with those fun Making Memories glittery images.

I am also going to play over at Ribbon Carousel Halloween theme and Really Reasonable Ribbons Fun for Fall!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I wish you a spooky kind of day!

Halloween Card - No stamps!

Hello There!

How has your week been going?

The Kraft Journal's current challenge is Anything Goes, so I used this opportunity to create another Halloween card since I got a late start working on my Halloween cards this year. I still have a few people I need to send too, and I wanted a chance to play with more of the Halloween goodies before I have to put them away.  When I finished creating, I noticed that I didn't stamp anywhere on this card! Gasp, but I am still pleased with how it turned out despite that!  What do you think?
I started with a Kraft card base, and layered some Halloween patterned papers from Recollections. I added a die cut doily from My Favorite Things next creating a ribbon banner from paper in my stash then adding my focal point. Last I embellished with some buttons and twine.

I am happy you stopped by today! I appreciate you spending a little part of your day with me.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Well, this is my last feature as DeNami Guest Designer, (Sniff Sniff) but I have truly enjoyed it so much!

Today DeNami is showcasing the new Cornucopia stamp.

I stamped my Cornucopia in my Essential Glue Pad and saturated with some bronze glitter goodness next alternating scalloped and circle die cuts from Spellbinders. If you have several over for dinner it is the perfect project because these are easy to crank out!

Boo-tiful Color Challenge

Hi there!

I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week! I am trying to play catch up and get some Halloween cards created. I made a quick one using the The City Crafter Challenge blog as my inspiration!

The challenge was titled Boo-tiful Color Challenge and to use primarily cream and black on your card.

I used several different goodies on my card basically grabbing what was close on hand and this is how it turned out!  All stamps used on this project are from DeNami Designs!  Love their stamps! :-)  I started off by adhering patterned paper from Michael's to my card base.  I created a repeat background using the spiderweb from DeNami Designs Halloween stamp set on cream card stock that I trimmed and rounded the corners adding black lace.  I punched a tag and adhered  my circular focal image adding a cream flower and button to the top. Next I added my BOO sentiment from glittered sticker embellishments by Making Memories.  For a finishing touch I added some cream crochet trim!
Below is a cool picture from the City Crafter Challenge!~

Here Come The Boys - Wheely Nice! And a Fascinating Friday Feature

Hi!

We interrupt this program of seasonal cards
to bring you a Birthday Card!
I have had fall on the brain,
and I am sure I will be back at it as
time permits, but I had to squeeze in
a birthday card for a challenge site
I stumbled upon called
 My very very
good friend's son is turning 16
soon. She was just a few months
along in her pregnancy when
my husband and I got married!
Hard to believe he will be turning 16!
The challenge is to create a project with Wheels!
How appropriate for a 16 year old young man!
I had fun with this one as I started and completed the entire thing
from my scrap box! Just mixing and matching layers.
(Since I couldn't add a button or ribbon)
I used the PTI Background Basics: Diamonds background
to create my own patterned paper using Aqua Mist ink
on a Whisper White Card Stock scrap. I wanted a retro feel
so I used my copics to only color in a portion of the car.
I shaded the windshield a very light blue for a
glass like appearance.
I used PTI By The Numbers die to cut out the 16
from some zig zag patterned paper I found in
my stash. I finished the card off with
a Happy Birthday sentiment!
Happy to play along with Jules Snippet Challenge
as everything even the card base was created from
my scrap box.
I have another wonderful and uber talented designer to share
with you on this Fantastic Friday over on the Paperie Designs Studio Blog!
It's Dana Seymour of Kismet, Art and Life
Please head over to Paperie Designs Studio to learn
more about this Fascinating Artist!
Hope you have a wonderful Friday!

A Shabby Autumn

Hey there!

I have another Autumn inspired card for you today with
inspiration from The Shabby Tea Room.
(Sorry for the photos, it's not been very good weather lately)
I started with textured close to cocoa card stock I had in my stash.
I then distressed a doily in several different inks to give it an aged look.
I created a card panel using the Filigree Center Piece stamped
in Spiced Marmalade. Next a punched border was added to the bottom.
A felt ribbon was  adhered with twine button embellishments.
For my focal image, I stamped DeNami Designs Small Pumpkin
on Kraft card stock and colored with Copics and paper pieced
the leaves adding a glittered frame.
I used the Small Scallop Circle to dress up my Thinking of you sentiment
from Thoughtful Greetings Petit Fours set.  To complete the look,
I added a flower embellishment and twine which has been distressed with inks.

Thank you so much for taking
the time out of your busy
schedule to visit.

Boo! Happy World Card Making Day!

**Wahoo! This card was chosen by Hand Stamped Sentiments as an Artist Pick**

Happy World Card Making Day to each of you!

I wish I was able to spend today making cards and getting inky, but it's Saturday and that means more house projects, but I couldn't let the day pass without posting something right?

Yay, for making one more Halloween Card!

I started with a Kraft card base and added patterned papers some old and
some new distressing the edges! :-) Next I wrapped some seam
binding and made a fluffy bow adding a Boo sentiment tag created using
DeNami Designs Halloween Stamp set finishing off with
a black button and black twine.
I die cut a circle from cream card stock and created a background
using the spiderweb from the DeNami Designs Halloween Stamp set.
My focal image is a glittery embellishment from Making Memories.
A couple of great challenges to get my Halloween mojo
working: The Kraft Journal: Witches, Ghost or Goblins
and Hand Stamped Sentiments: Halloween project.
Some very happy news....
I am delighted to be DeNami Designs Guest
Designer for the month of October! Yay!
I was so honored to be asked to
 join along this month.
