The Kraft Journal #182 Funky Junk

Hey Friends!

It's Monday, so I am back with another challenge for The Kraft Journal.  This week we have a unique and open to interpretation challenge called "Funky Junk".
For my card, I started out with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock card base onto which I added patterned papers to to Blackboard Stock Paper.  I used the Lost and Found Salvage Stickers, I then added the measuring tape and clock face to the card front.  In the center of the clock, I added some Vintage Dictionary Pages, a button atop an Earthy Hemp Bow.  I did a little further embellishing by adding a Chipboard Button to the right of the clock which also was laced with Earthy Hemp twine.
I took a partial Journaling Ticket and made my own sentiment using Tim Holtz Chit Chat Stickers.  Lastly I added a length of antique vintage lace across the top to complete the look.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Funky Junk creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT Monday!

The Kraft Journal Product Spotlight Text Paper

Hello Friends!

It's my turn to spotlight a product over on The Kraft Journal blog hosted by The Kraft Outlet.  Today I am featuring Text Paper.

My project today uses the Brown Kraft Text Paper, which I have turned into Doily Flower Wraps.  They are perfect for parties, weddings, or summer hostess gifts.

I cut a circle from the Brown Kraft Text Paper. Mine was about 6 1/2 x 6 1/2. I actually used my cameo to create and cut a circle, but you can use a bowl or anything large and trace around it. I had a heart shape doily ( measured about 6 x 6), in my stash of goodies that I placed in the center. Any larger doily will do. I glued it to the center of the circle. Next fold into a cone, and secure with a dot of hot glue and tie with Natural Hemp Cord

Stamp a White Scallop Tag that can be personalized as needed. Brown Kraft Text Paper makes it easy to make beautiful paper flowers for embellishing your cards, tags, gift bags, as you can see here the Doily Flower Wrap. The possibilities are endless.
I hope you enjoyed this simple little project!  Be sure to stop by The Kraft Outlet to see the different varieties of Text Paper they carry. Don't forget to join us in our sketch challenge this week. We LOVE to see what you create! Go here for the details.
Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Paper Sweeties July Release Rewind.

It's Release Rewind Day and the Paper Sweeties team is using previously released products along with some of the new goodies to share with you today.  I designed a card that uses a sentiment from Best Wishes and the dragonfly and frame from Home Tweet Home. As you can see, I used the new Sweet Cuts Home Tweet Home
Once again, I was able to use up some of my scraps. How perfect is it that I had some dragonfly paper in my scrap stash?
A fussy embellished bow and some fun colorful ribbon are just a few added touches to complete this card.

I hope you have enjoyed this release. Once again, this completes my regular design team duties with Paper Sweeties! It's been a wonderful term.  I've also enjoyed all the ladies I have had the please of designing with past and present.

Since I used scraps, I am sharing at Hiding in My Craft Room - Scraps.

The Kraft Journal #180 - Sun

Good Morning and

welcome to The Kraft Journal "Sun" Challenge.

We want to see your creations using a Sun and either products purchased or can be purchased from "The Kraft Outlet" and/or Kraft cardstock.

So I am back this week with another little beach scene card for The Kraft Journal.  Summer is busy, so I kept this quick and simple. I started with an A2 base made from Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock and cut a blue piece of patterned paper and adhered it to the base.
I used a file from the Silhouette Store and cut out the palm tree and sun. The base of the Island is also cut from Brown Kraft Coverweight cardstock.  For the sun, I used a Peachy Keen Stamp Everyday Character Faces.  The sentiment in the die-cut cloud is from Craftin' Desert Divas - Summer Lovin'.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Sun creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Hi there! Are you ready for another cute release of stamps from Paper Sweeties? Today begins the sneak peeks with a design team hop! There is also a set of dies being released that coordinates with a previous release Home Tweet Home.

Before I share the details of my card! I wanted to say that this will be my last month as a full-time designer for Paper Sweeties, and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Debbie for the honor of having me design with her precious Sweeties.

So with that being said, here is my kick-off to the July Release!  As you can see, Debbie is releasing a firefighter set.
I found this cute fire shield in the Silhouette Store and added my own touches to the center using the new images from Paper Sweeties. I was actually able to use all scraps to complete this project!

SFYTT- Teacher Thanks

Good Saturday to you!

It's not the normal time of year to see a Teacher Thank You card. Especially, when many are basking in the sun and enjoying vacations, but as many of you know I did share a little bit that my son has some struggles, and this year the decision was made to send him to summer school to help him for next year. It's just three weeks...just keeping those cobwebs off! Although, he was NOT happy about this decision by his teacher who he adored...we lucked out with another GREAT summer school teacher, so all is well.

We want to make sure we show our appreciation to this great summer school teacher at the end of the term. So I hope you don't mind that I share with you another "teacher card". I do love making them. I used the SFYTT as my inspiration along with the Class Act Set / Class Act Confetti Cutsand Love Notes Die cut.
A few embellishments to dress it up a bit! It's what I love most to do, and since we are hand-delivering...why not! :-)))
The papers were some I had leftover from a previous make, but I am sure many of you recognize this paper. You get a huge stack, so I think I will have scraps for years to come! :-))))
Here is the sketch!

Sailing by to say hi!

Good Morning bloggy friends!
I needed a card for my son to mail out, so I thought I would pull out some of my My Creative Time products and use the new Designers Challenge as inspiration.

For my card, I started with a light blue A2 card base and added a layer of kraft cardstock that I stamped the Stripey Background in Chipped Sapphire Ink to a piece of  Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. I distressed the edges before adhering to the card base. I took a length of ribbon and wrapped it around the card front and  tied it off at the end with twine and a Prima decorative wood button.

Using the Lost at Sea stamp set and dies, I created another porthole scene card. You may remember, I made one a few weeks ago, and it was so much fun to make. I added an anchor from Anchors & Heart.  The sentiment was stamped on one of the Vintage Stitched Label Dies.  So there you have it. Below is the challenge inspiration.
The challenge is to either use the boat or the colors or both as your inspiration.
I am also sharing at Craftin' Desert Divas - Summer Challenge, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Sugar Pea Designs - Anything Goes.

So happy you popped by today! Hope you have a Fantastic Friday!

Then using the same twine and ribbon I attached it to the jar.  I took the ends of the twine and curled it up.
Here is a fun Butterfly card using some awesome
Bubblegum Taffy Trendy Twine and a sentiment from Paper Smooches.
Lastly, I have a cute little project inspired by one of the Trendy Twine names!
Twisted Gumball Trendy Twine!

The Kraft Journal #179 Sea and Sand

Happy Happy Monday!

Are you staying Cool???  Thinking back to the long winter we had this year...I won't complain!

For this week's Sea and Sand challenge at The Kraft Journal, I found a Silhouette file that provided the perfect inspiration for my starting point.

The little beach scene postage stamp has a base of Buff Ivory . The sand is made of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock. I used Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock  for the palm tree base, and the rest were from my scrap pile. I never throw throw anything away, and those small pieces always come in handy at some point. The card base is made of Kraft Cover Weight which can be found at The Kraft Outlet. I followed by matting some solid pieces of cardstock that compliment the postage stamp adding a large scallop border to the top. I took a length of Vintage Winter White Bias Tape  and vertically wrapped it around the card front in the center and tied in a bow adding a button to the center which was threaded with Red Baker's Twine.  Lastly, I stamped the Sweet Summertime sentiment from a newly launched company called Craftin' Desert Diva's in red ink onto a hand-cut banner from Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Sea and Sand creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am also sharing at Craftin' Desert Divas - Summer

Have a wonderful day!

Celebrate

Hello~

Hard to believe that tomorrow is the 4th of July! I feel like the time is just flying right on by!

This past weekend, I managed a small bit of crafty time to work on knocking out some cards for mailing to friends and family. Here is one of them. I am just now getting around to posting it.

I kept it flat just for the purpose of mailing and many of you know I like to add big fluffy bows and embellishments. I sat on my hands a bit and kept it simple. I found some inspiration at Seize the Sketch.

I started with Kraft card base and added my layer of designer paper from my stash. Then I die-cut My Creative Time 3 x 4 Stitched Journal Die and added to the center of the card front. Next I die-cut some stars in different sizes and patterens using the 3 star stitched dies from My Creative Time and added them to the top of the Journal card.  Following the sketch, I cut a panel from patterned paper and stamped Celebrate from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler.  Lastly, I wrapped some Blue Baker's Twine around the card front and tied in a bow.

Well, that wraps this one up for me.  As mentioned, inspiration was found at: Seize the Sketch.

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes
Pumpkin Spice - Red, White, and Blue, Craftin' Desert Divas - Red, White, and Blue.

For my American Friends, I hope you have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!  For ALL my friends, have a blessed day!
