Holiday Hugs

Hi There!

In an effort to knock out some Christmas cards towards my 2014 stash, I thought I would play along again at Merry Monday!  The theme this week is Ornaments. So I pulled out my Waltzingmouse Stamps again and got to work.
I used lots of different Waltzingmouse Christmas sets to create the card. Mostly taking flourishes and snowflakes to create the backing paper behind the ornament. The sets I used:
Vintage Ornaments (Ornament)
Seasons of Love Tags (Snowflakes, flourish)
Sewing Box Christmas (snowflakes)
I used a scrap of patterned paper I had at the bottom and scraps of ribbon at the top to make the banners. I never throw anything away even tiny ribbon pieces because they usually come in handy in the design process at some point! :-)))

As mentioned, I found inspiration at Merry Monday - Ornament Challenge
I am going to share at Just B Creative - January Linky Party, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, 3 Girl Jam - Anything Goes With Ribbon, Pixie's Crafty Snippet Challenge.

I hope you are staying warm wherever you are. Even the south has been hit with snow and cold.

Have a Terrific Thursday!

Love Cupid Chickie

Hi!

Two weeks ago I shared a sweet little Valentine Card on the DeNami blog. Now I can share here in it's entirety incase you missed it.  This one features Cupid Chickie. Who says chickies have to be yellow? I made my fuzzy little guy pink for Valentine's Day!

I started with a red card base onto which I added pink cardstock which has been stamped with the Teeny Heart Background in red ink. Next I added a section of sheet music from my stash to the center. I then wrapped a length of ribbon around the card front and tied in a bow to the left side of the card.

To build my focal piece of the card, I die-cut a spellbinders label from red cardstock and embossed it using the Chevron Embossing Folder. A paper rosette was added to the center adding a punched label in the coordinating red cardstock.  I stamped the Love Circle in red ink adding Cupid Chickie to the center. I punched the circle out using a 1 3/8 punch.

A die-cut heart border in white was added to the upper portion of the card and punched pink heart and dew drop were added to the right of the focal images for a final finishing touch.

I am going to share at Just B Creative - January Linky Party, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, 3 Girl Jam - Anything Goes With Ribbon, Really Reasonable Ribbon - Valentine/Love.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this cute little Valentine! I hope you have a terrific Thursday! Valentine's Day will be here before you know it.

The Kraft Journal #156 Sketch Challenge - LOVE

Hey y'all!

For this week's "Sketch Challenge at The Kraft Journal, I decided to case myself using a previous card I have made you can find here, but following sketch from The Kraft Journal. They are very similar, and I just changed a few things up a bit.
I started with a card base of Blackboard Stock Paper followed by adding layers of pattern papers (My Mind's Eye) with distressed edges. Following the sketch, I added a banner horizontally on the card front.

I then added a decorative envelope adding patterned paper to the bottom. I tucked a snippet of a doily at the top of the envelope adding a strip of Black and White Washi Tape across.  I used Tiny Wooden Clothespins to clip the darling hearts (Paper Smooches) to the envelope. After adding the Love sentiment from Paper Smooches Bee Mine, I wrapped around the card front a length of Metallic Hemp Cord for a finishing touch.

Here is the sketch for you to follow this week:
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your sketch card creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I am sharing at Just B Creative - January Linky Party.  Little Scrap Pieces - Friday Linky Party.

Have a GREAT week!

From Valentine's to Christmas...

Hey there!

{I am delighted that this card was chosen at a Merry Monday Honorable Mention on 1/27/14}

I have been sharing Valentine projects the last few days, but I am moving backwards, (or way forward) with Christmas. I have good intentions to try and work on Christmas early, but I don't usually get a lot of extra crafty time these days.  I saw some inspiration both at Festive Friday and Merry Monday that jumped started my mojo. I love the inspiration at Festive Friday. For me, it gave a homespun feeling which is the direction I went with today.

I started with a red card base onto which I added my layers of Kraft cardstock and red gingham check patterned paper. Taking a cue from the inspiration photo at Merry Monday, I grabbed a piece of vintage book print and added to the card front. I added some ric-rac velvet trim and tucked a snippet of a doily at the bottom.
From Waltzingmouse 2011 Holiday Ornaments, I stamped the reindeer ornament in cream pigment ink which has been heat embossed then cut with the coordinating die. A red seam binding bow was added to the top of the ornament embellished with a white poinsettia flower and a tag using a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps Seasons of Love - Tags set.

As mentioned, inspiration for this card was found at Festive Friday
I am also sharing at: Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Just B Creative - January Linky Party. Saying hi again at: Pixie's Crafty Snippet Playground

I hope you have a warm and fabulous Friday!

Batty In Love

Hello~

I have a fun little Valentine for you. When I think of Bats, I don't think of Valentine's Day, but decided to take the pun that comes with the Paper Smooches Falling For You set and run with it in my usual lots of layers/trims style.

I joined two pieces of Valentine patterned paper from my srcaps which have been joined by a heart border punch and red ric-rac then adhered to my card front. I thought it would be fun to have them hanging on red hemp twine from two paper rosettes. Hey, it's paper crafting...the sky is the limit! :-)))
A lovey dovey heart was added to the center. Next I add two banners at the top right. {A great way to use up more scraps laying on the desk.} Lastly, I stamped my sentiment in the lower right. Keeping it short as I have the short stack home with me today.

I am going to join in at: Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes,

Simon Says Stamp - Let's Have A Laugh, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Just B Creative - January Linky Party. It's also been far too long, but I am also sharing at Pixie's Crafty Snippet Playground

Hope all is staying warm. (Those of you in Hawaii...you are lucky and I miss the warmth)

DeNami Design Product Spotlight Love Circle {3 D Project}

Hello!

Welcome to the first Product Spotlight for DeNami Design 2014! It's a product blog hop, and that means that the stamp we are spotlighting today will be given away to one lucky commenter. The winner will be picked at random among one of the DeNami Design Team blogs. We are all sharing the Love Circle Stamp. It's one of my favorites and I use it a lot this time of year. In fact, I used it on my card I created for the DeNami blog last week. There is also a 10% savings for one week only if you purchase this stamp. If you should be a winner of the stamp, DeNami will refund you the purchase price. So it's a win win!

I have a 3 D treat to share with you today. In addition to the Love Circle Stamp, I used a few other DeNami stamps to dress up this project!

I cut the octagon mug using my Silhouette Cameo. I stamped, colored, and fussy cut the Little Fawn and added it to a scallop oval die-cut that has been stamped using the Solid Rose Accent Stamp

I made a tag for the handle using the spotlighted Love Circle Stamp adding a Solid Rose to the center.  I punched it out using a 1 3/8" circle punch and used a die-cut scallop to back it on.  I created a multi-loop bow using red and white twine from the Classic Twine Pack.

I created a goodie bag to add inside the mug full of chocolate and candy sugared hearts. I tied the treats with a fussy bow, adding a felt flower from my stash, and tag using a sentiment from the Love Sentiment Stamp Set. I added a few more roses from the Solid Rose Accent Stamp to the tag.

Thanks for stopping by!
Be sure to check out the rest of the DeNami Design Team for your chance to win

The Kraft Journal 155 - Winter Greetings

Hi!

It's Monday and that means it's time for another challenge at The Kraft Journal!  For this week's "Winter Blues" challenge, I got started on my focal image first using the emboss resist technique. I used a wreath image from Papertrey Ink, Wreath for all seasons. I used Tim Holtz distress inks to create my blue background. I stamped PTI Background Basic Hearts onto a piece of white cardstock with coordinating distress ink and punched two hearts and layered them in the center of the wreath.  I matted it onto a coordinating mat stack die from Papertrey Ink.
To build the card, I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock onto which I pieced together patterned papers from my stash.  I cut two banners one of which is embossed with a snowflake embossing folder and layered them on the right side of the card front.

The sentiment was made from Seasonal Chit Chat Word Stickers. A length of crochet trim was added to the top of the card. Next I then moved to the bottom of the card, and took pinking shears and trimmed a piece of white cardstock to give another decorative touch. I wrapped the card front vertically with a length of White Twill Tape and tied off in a bow where I then created an additional multi-loop bow from Metallic Twist Hemp Cord embellished with a Custom Fastener
I hope you enjoyed this winter greeting and will join in the fun with the winter blues challenge at The Kraft Journal this week.  All those that participate in our challenges for the month will be entered to win a $15.00 gift certificate from The Kraft Outlet. This also may get you considered for the Feature Me Friday artist post on The Kraft Journal blog.

I am joining in at  Just B Creative - January Linky Party, Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Little Scrap Pieces - Friday Linky Party.

Thank you for stopping by and have a Magnificent Monday!

Smitten!

Hello!

I have a fun little post to share just because....
I started with a white card base onto which I layered patterned papers from Authentique Paper Collection Blissful. I die-cut a Scallop Tag from Paper Smooches which I dressed up a bit and stamped a sentiment on it from Paper Smooches Good Gab.  The sweet bees are from Paper Smooches Bee Mine. After I created my tag, I placed a partial doily to the card front before I put my tag in place.

I added a fussy bow at the top of the tag and embellished with a smoky gray rhinestone gem. Three yellow enamel dots were added to the upper left corner of the gray patterned paper.  A die-cut heart border from Paper Smooches was added for an additional decorative touch. Lastly I took a length of Yellow Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a bow.

That's it for me today! Inspiration for this card was found at Paper Smooches Sparks Picture Perfect Challenge.
I am also sharing at Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes, Ribbon Carousel - Love, Birthdays, and Chicken Soup, Just B Creative - January Linky Party.

Have a GREAT day!

Paper Sweeties January Release Rewind - Have a Sweet Day

Hi!  I hope you have been enjoying the January Paper Sweeties release.  The new sets have all been released today and the Design Team is sharing our rewind post using the new mixed with some previous released sets. My card today features just released Sweetie Pie and Stand-Add On 6 along with clouds from Rainbows and Roses and I created a xoxo border from You Make Me Smile
I started by stamping Abigail inside a Polaroid Frame I created. I paper-pieced her outfit from Sweetie Pie. I gave her a cake to hold from Stand Add-On 6. Clouds were stamped inside the frame and a sentiment panel was added just below the frame.
Lastly a banner was draped across the top embellished with buttons and twine adding sweet images from Stand Add-On 6.
I hope you will visit the rest of the design team to see what they have created for you.

DeNami Sponsors The Curtain Call Challenge Love Letters

Hi There!

{This is my second post of the day, for Paper Sweeties Release Day click here}

DeNami Design is sponsoring The Curtain Call Challenge and the theme is Love Letters! I am sharing what I made for this occasion and I hope you will participate for your chance to win an awesome prize pack from DeNami Designs.  For the details click here.

DeNami Supplies Used:
As you can see from the list above, I used quite a bit of DeNami goodness today!

I started by embossing a piece of red Coordinations cardstock with the Fleur Di Lis Embossing Folder onto a Kraft card base. I then stamped the Elegant Oval Frame in Vintage Sepia Versafine Ink which I cut in half after I fussy cut around it. In the middle, of the frame I used the Solid Rose Accents set by stamping off the ink to give it a lighter vintage look.
I used the Teeny Heart Background to stamp a border on the mini scalloped envelope. On the mini-card, I used the same stamp off technique for the Rosevine Corner adding the Love Flourish sentiment in Vintage Sepia Versafine Ink.

Now it's time to put all the pieces together. I added the frame to the top center of the card. I added a doily as a frilly backdrop for my envelope and sentiment card which I have added to the center adding a fussy seam binding bow embellished with a White Boutique Button and two pearl stick pins. I added a mini wooden clothes pin to the envelope.  Final embellishing consisted of adding a white crochet trim to the bottom of the card adding a few red dew drops to the centers.

Here is the inspiration photo!

I hope you will join in the fun for your chance to receive
some DeNami goodness of your own.

Be sure to head over to the DeNami blog to see what the rest of the talented ladies at DeNami created using the photo prompt from The Curtain Call Challenge.

Have a Beautiful day!

Paper Sweeties January Release Day!

Hi Friends!

I have a clean and simple card to share with you for the January Paper Sweeties release.  I am featuring the new stamp set from this release called Cupcakes & Sprinkles.  All sets are in the shop ready to purchase.

I actually did not intend to have this card so CAS. I had added a banner at the top and flowers to the side, and I actually cleared it all, and just added the crochet trim to the top. I decided that this beautiful frame needed to be the very first thing to draw your eye on. Debbie did a great job with a lot of detail, and it's so cute. This set comes with a main image, 5 sentiments, and 2 smaller images.

I added this darling tiny heart print paper to the front of pink cardstock. I then added a banner down the left side, crochet trim across the top and stamped my focal image in a die-cut frame. I wish it had been that simple in the beginning. I had cut banners, pulled flowers....and in the end less is more! You won't hear that out of me often when it comes to cardmaking. :-))))

Don't forget about our January Inspirational Challenge. You have until January 31st to link up to the gallery! You could win a $20.00 shopping spree to the Paper Sweeties Shoppe!  The winner also will be invited to be next month's guest designer.

Paper Sweeties Day 2 of January Sneak Peeks

It's Day 2 of the Paper Sweeties January release, and I am back sharing a little cupcake box.  I can't resist cupcakes, so I loved making a sweet little decorated box with the soon to be released Paper Sweeties Sending Sweet Thoughts and Sending Sweet Thoughts Sweet Cuts
Everyone knows just how much I love cupcakes, but not as much as those dear to me. I just love this sentiment and felt it was perfect to tie up my cupcake box.
I used the colors in the cupcake ribbon as my inspiration and built the front based on those colors. I cut the cupcake from pale pink cardstock and stamped in brown ink. I die-cut the liner electing not to use the stamp liner stamp that coordinates with it to show different ways/looks of this stamp and coordinating die set. I die-cut the frosting in white adding pink dew drops and glitter. Yummy. Baker's twine only seemed fitting to go with this project, so I finished off with a Baker's Twine bow and used it as well to tie my tag to the top.

I hope you enjoyed my share today!  Be sure to check out the projects from the ladies below to see how they are using the January Release.
